I'll speak only for my self here because there are a lot of black people who'd kill me for saying this but I just don't care about white identitarianism at all, I only care about to the extent it would affect me. And yeah I agree it's hypocritical when everyone else is tribalist but people hate when whites are.
If black people and black countries were prosperous I would care about anti-blackness nearly as much as I do.
Malcolm X believed the same thing. He opposed Jim Crow when it denied black people actual rights like voting, but he openly chided the Civil Rights Movement led by MLK for fighting to integrate because he saw it as more productive to uplift black people so that they would have to rely on the charity of white people. I believe this too

Before mass migration we could functionally ignore HBD and be nice and get along because the country was 87% white.
What the fuck are you talking about? When the country was supermajority white there was Jim Crow and white supremacist terrorism again Black Americans. Hart-Cellar was passed only a year after the Civil Rights Act

But for black people the grievance wasn't just that we were being treated unequally by law but that we were viewed as "inferior" by the dominant (white) society.

When people both here and elsewhere say that HBD is true but that society should still treat people as individuals or practice colorblindness, I get really mad. I don't disagree with them, but I still get mad
Because what I want to say in response is that that isn't good enough because your premise was supposed to wrong! The edifice that was used to justify anti-blackness for centuries was supposed to be completely discredited, put into the dustbin of history. You can’t enslave, discriminate, oppress, and demean a people based on the assumption that they’re inferior and then…turn out to be right. That’s not fair!
But I can't express that belief because of how obviously irrational it is. It's a demand for cosmic justice, not a real intellectual rebuttal. Yet I can't help it

I've seen a lot of "Woke 1 vs Woke 2" discourse on social media and the thing I can't help but notice is that a major difference between "Woke 1" and "Woke 2" seems to be that "Woke 2" just doesn't really care that much about Black Americans anymore.
The summer of 2020 was touted by left-wing intelligensia as an almost eschatological event for American race relations that was going to finally finish the fight for equality for good. At the time it certainly felt that way. I was a young black progressive who was deeply concerned about racial inequality and I even attended a protest with my family. Even though I didn't like the cancellation campaigns or the rioting, I was sincerely convinced that ultimately it would be worth it in the end. But fast-forward to now, has anything really changed? Are Black Americans materially better off now? No, not really. But for the most part non-black leftists have largely stopped caring. Palestine is the "current thing" now and we've been moved down the progressive stack it feels like.
...and I'm plugged into black social media and all the time I'll see people who are still true believers in all the "Woke 1" stuff reacting to the regret over it's excesses by people like AOC feeling betrayed. Like what do you mean "Woke 1 was crazy"? So you were just pretending to agree with us then? You think we're too embarrassing now???
