Good point for sure re: far from the worst. At face value, I believe this story is totally overdone, paying 16 year olds for sex is bad, he deserved jail, but they did “consent” and it’s not like they were 10 or even 12. Majorly different classes to that sort of crime IMO.
BUT, I think there’s much deeper undercurrents here. Trumps base absolutely fucking hates that he’s “covering up” and trying to bury this story (or blame it on a dem hoax which just doesn’t make sense). He is the conspiracy candidate and he went hard on this in the campaign trail. It’s more about the fact that “releasing the Epstein tapes” means “exposing and prosecuting the Washington swamp” rather than anything specific to do with child porn/prostitution.
It also seems like Epstein had plausible connections to intelligence and Israeli intelligence specifically. Tucker Carlson is doing a huge expose on this today (yesterday?) and that’s a big deal. Tucker is the #2 pod behind Rogan AND he just spoke at the RNC like a few months ago??
While the actual facts of the story is kinda meh, this is going to be a massive problem for Trump. I wish the first major scandal was something else, like not stopping any of these wars he promised to, but ofc this is what catches on with normies & his base…

Funny that on a mostly libertarian leaning site, many posters write screeds about the “top 20% of men”, kinda like you’d see on some socialist forum about the “top 1% of earners”. Libertarianism for what I do have, communism for what I don’t!

Kinda seems like a repeat of the internet and social media specifically here. Initially everyone was talking about bringing the world together, connecting communities, knowledge at your fingertips, etc. People really just use it to waste their life as they get dopamine hacked for profit.
Now these AI companies are just going to be the latest in the line of tech companies to get you addicted and waste your life away for profit. OpenAI has that who sycophancy thing going, where the AI is trained to agree with you, no matter how delusional, as this gets you to talk with it more.
Then they’re gonna add all this porn-y “AI gf/bf” stuff, AI friend, AI why wouldn’t I just be on my phone 24-7?

Yeah the AIs are incredible at coding, data refinement and visualization, among other things. Seeing all the haters here is interesting. Some people make it their brand to dismiss every new tech trend. Some are truly out of touch and tried ChatGPT3.5 once in ‘22 and have ignored it since.

I think wokism is the logical conclusion of blank slate, everyone-is-equal democracy. Blank slate meaning that everyone is born the same, there are no genetic or inborn advantages in intelligence or drive between demographics, and that everyone is equal. This is a sort of immaculate conception myth that all modern liberal democracies believe, not just woke people.
Progressives or “wokists” take this to the logical conclusion: since demographics are clearly not equal in terms of educational achievement, wealth accumulation, property ownership, etc, but since they were exactly equal at birth, it logically HAS to be some systematic form of oppression to cause these sort of disparities.
The logic is sound, but the premise is flawed. Human Bio-diversity is a thing. Ever watch the NBA or NFL? It’s predominantly black, but there aren’t many who have an issue with this. At the upper echelons of business, it’s predominantly white and Asian. Many have problems with this, and a lot of flawed programs are devised as a result like DEI and Affirmative Action.
Unfortunately, you aren’t really allowed to talk about these things in polite company, but most people fundamentally understand this.

For you personally, yeah go on a forest walk and get into nature. That’s the real way to experience these drugs and most likely to have a positive life changing experience.

Frankly: I hate all this clinical trial bullshit around psychedelics and mushrooms. They definitely have anti depressive effects, but anyone that does drugs knows that the set/setting of these clinical trials is absolutely awful and retarded. You’re tripping and they just have you watching ig reels and tv?
Take 2 gs of real mushrooms and go for a forest walk and think about life. You’ll actually have some real insights about what’s making you that way. Treating these substances like just another pharma substance isn’t the way.

Great beginning to the post. I agree that with decaying pro-social institutions in the west there is a massive movement towards dropping out, and not working hard to maintain the status-quo of society. The economy seems rigged against specific demographics and jobs specifically (while making others on ez mode like software devs and crypto entrepreneurs).
Huge quibble with the post: all the blackpill “women won’t fuck me” crying is total bullshit. Women are easier at the moment than they’ve ever been. Women literally medically augment themselves (with birth control) so that sex has no consequence, and many modern liberals treat it as lightly as scratching an itch.
If you feel this way, this is a YOU problem, plain and simple. I know so many >30 yr old halfway balding dudes with desk jobs who are banging new girls every week. Even better, it’s a skill that can be learned, not just something innate that you’re born with.
How often do you work out? Are you in respectable shape? Do you live in a populated area? Can you hold a normal conversation? How many girls do you approach, or even just talk to in real life per week?
I absolutely hate this mentality. It’s communism for pussy. Blackpill turbo-online men want to be able to do nothing, not work on themselves at all, and be guaranteed sex and a mate. Unemployment is similar to insurance in the US. You pay in every paycheck, and get defined benefits for a defined period of time if you lose your job.
Other welfare programs are different of course where there’s no need to pay in.
But yeah you should probably leave the UK it sounds awful there for a number of reasons.
