I can only really speak for what I’ve seen in my social circles (educated professionals) and my workplace (construction industry), which I guess is quite a broad intake.
Educated Professionals: only talk about One Nation as a chance to make snide comments or ridicule the party and its supporters. I would guess over 90% voted green the last couple of elections. House prices and cost of living (by far), the Middle East and toxic masculinity are probably the most talked about political topics.
Construction: no negativity towards one nation, coalition, outright hostility towards labor and albo in particular, greens only mentioned as some sort of boogeyman/joke. Housing prices and cost of living (by far), immigration (particularly Chinese, Indian and Middle Eastern, complaining about Muslim terrorism (Bondi saw a lot of anger and violent rhetoric on site).
As an additional bit of anecdotal data: seen a lot of extended family above the age of 70 loudly proclaiming their hatred for labor and the coalition, and how they’re voting one nation from now on. But I also see the content they reshare on social media, not to disregard their grievances, but boy, the boomers really don’t have any antibodies to AI slop and misinformation.
The Corporation Wars wasn’t fiction
Look up gossip goblin on instagram.
The teens I come in contact with mostly don’t use Facebook (except for messenger - this and Marketplace seems to be the primary use of Facebook for everyone under 60) and usually have Snapchat and Instagram as their preferred social media’s.
Agree with the ban, but also want to keep up to date with his spicy rants, could you DM it to me too, please?
Hit the half way mark and it will start to feel comfortable, to the point you’ll find yourself bemoaning that you’re closer to finishing than starting. At least that’s how I felt after the slow start.
I read Crytonomicon earlier this year and loved it. A slow start as I wasn’t expecting such a vastly different world to Snowcrash etc.
Even the dense maths behind some of the cryptography kept my attention, somehow!

Beware the safety issues - the crumple zone for the front of those mini trucks is located in the driver’s and passenger’s foot wells.
