So it looks like WNBA’s Brittney Griner’s 9-Year Prison Sentence Upheld In Russian Appeal Court.
One thing I find interesting about the whole ordeal is the similarities between her case and the Jan6 detainees, in both an hostile government dishes disproportionate punishment to a member of an opposing tribe.
While I feel for Ms. Griner I can't help, but chuckle at the parallels and remind myself that in the real world there aren't good guys, just your guys and theirs.

Instead, the reaction seems to be outrage that Upstanding Citizens like themselves should be subject to the same conditions as common criminals.
By all accounts they are being tortured. Or at least that is what is alleged to be happening.

And I don't agree with you about the scale of the January 6th protests. It has been something discussed ad nauseum in the community.
I don't understand why some people are so happy she's going to suffer for such a minor crime. Yeah she fucked up, but I don't understand the absolute glee some conservatives feel at her suffering. It's absolutely deranged.
Putting aside that this is more like a weakman, the ones that are happy about it are coming from the side that if you don't care for the Jan6 protestors/rioters, why should they care about your tribe member?. At least that is how I think that minority would see it.

Obviously, both a creche and a menorah have both secular and religious meaning, as courts have repeatedly recognized.
They also made the Roe vs. Wade debacle and upheld it for a number of decades, and how is it faring now huh?. Taking whatever the courts says as a description of reality is insane in my opinion, no less a dereliction of your duty as a thinking and reasoning individual as those that take activist words as gospel.
Bye the bye, you may want to cool it with the consensus building there, as it's not obvious that those symbols have secular meanings.

Of course there are differences too, but the similarities are striking to me. At least in the sense the the framing of the incidents is entirely dependant on who has the power and who's sources you read or watch.

Schools: The left wants teachers and schools to trans my kids.
Infrastructure in General/Public Services: The left defends dangerous hobos, one can't even defend himself from them or risk going to jail like with the Neely case.
Taxation (Total fiscal policy if you will): Fucking Biden, Inflation is eating me alive and his stooges in congress just want to spend more and make the situation worse (BTW Fuck McCArthy, useless piece of shit.).
Welfare State: I don't have anything for this one, but maybe can be linked with the taxation and inflation one.
I imagine those are more or less what they think when they contemplate the left's policies. Something more direct to them, like getting rejected from University or their kids being rejected while Jamal or Tyrone gets in with worse grades would be more important, as getting into a prestigious University (or their children doing it) in their minds, is equivalent to upward mobility and a way to avoid several of the disadvantages of being poor like the enumerated points above.

For this one it would be Activists or Political activists, but it would depend on to whom the letters are send and with what purpose.
If there is a need to encapsulate both terms in one umbrella, Progressive would suffice I think, that term has been poisoned enough that I don't think it is salvageable.

well, according with that article, with the magic of a Zoom call they can. No idea why would you ask about it, unless you forgot that article.
But forcing us to use trans people's pronouns (and hence lie)? No, not really. Maybe people might complain about it on internet forums and amongst close friends (I have friend who finds it annoying like you do), but I don't think they'll do anything about it.
The important thing to keep in mind is that the chulthu swims to the left, preferred pronouns may feel like a new issue, but at this point in any sufficiently big organization, it is already claimed territory by the progs. As you say in the preceding paragraph, the new thing is trans kids. I don't think the millions of Americans with compelled speech in their workplace feel very strongly about it, they are fat and lazy and have very comfortable lives, but it will be interesting to see how they deal with their kids being transed.

because in the other scenario you are assuming that companies are going to finance the same employees that they cut to maximize profit margins. And unless the Woke mind virus becomes a terminal case in the minds of their CEO's I don't see how they would justify doing it. Granted the unemployed can go into the wealthfare state arms, but I don't think that is sustainable.
