I think it takes seeing malicious reporting on a particular issue either close to the reader or that's something they happen to know a lot about in order for someone to stop trusting most journalism by default. I think most people just haven't been black-pilled in that way yet.
Likewise women being allowed to vote was new in the forties, and not yet universal even in the west.
Men (as a group) hadn't had the right to vote for particularly long by that point either. Pre-21st century western society was obviously not completely equal with regard to gender, but it does seem to have been generally more gender-equal than Muslim countries.
Incidentally, I'm curious that you chose the Spanish empire (rather than British empire, or the USA) as the most successful western society?

We're talking about the hypothetical case where one of them intervenes to the point they'd get imprisoned. None of the parents took things that far.

I've personally been arguing for decades that 9-11 killed the United States and the $2.3 trillion (pretty sure that's a low-ball number, like we blew past that in 2005) was the price we paid for our own funeral.
Eh, you guys are fine. Not to downplay the damaging aftermath of the War on Terror, but from the perspective of someone living in a Europe, your problems are far more temporary.
Something that really stood out to me about the Rotherham et al. issue is how low some of the prison sentences were (in many cases the low single digits). Like, I'm all for rehabilitation if it's likely to work, but it's trivially obviously not going to for these people!

This is exactly why I think the term "woke right" has value. It perfectly describes the sort of person who'll make standard progressive arguments with one or two ethnicities swapped around.
See also people who are super hbd-based when it comes to explaining why black americans perform worse than white, but who immediately reinvent some form of systemic racism against whites when it comes to explaining the higher performances of asians/Jews (i.e. talking about "rote learning" or "in-group preferences").

In the UK there's simply a cap on international places for many courses. I know the relationship between higher education and the state is different in the US, but I imagine there'd be some way to legally enforce that a certain % of places are reserved for domestic students. It's not something I see being hugely politically polarised either.

You're not allowed to just straight up say I don't want MENA immigration, so they go for the anti-woman and anti-gay angle to make it acceptable. What they really want to say is they don't want Arabs period, and that is an indirect way of saying that.
Well, the reason they don't want Muslims is because of those things you mentioned (and more)

Not necessarily - there are some other pretty compelling arguments as to why it was specifically 18th century Britain where the factors leading to the industrial revolution converged (i.e. the access to coal, and economic viability of mining it)

I feel like the passage you quoted should be near enough to convince anyone not to take this guy's open-borders ideas seriously.
Israel was able to fund its existence for decades before the US started "paying for it", and so long as the counrty has nukes I don't think they're ever getting overwhelmed. Who among their neighbors would even be capable of that? Lebanon?

What they didn't realise is that non-European workers aren't nearly as productive as European workers unless they are heavily selected, which they weren't. Dependents are also unproductive. It was a completely unforced error.
What I found illuminating about this was that it really showed that even center-right to right-wing politicians mostly don't believe there are any actual group-level differences in ability to contribute productively in a highly developed economy. I think on some level I had assumed they recognised it but didn't acknowledge it publicly (for obvious reasons) but no, it seems they really did think that people from vastly different populations were all interchangable.

It can go either way. Yes, sometimes magic does happen, but given how massively-polygenic a lot of complex traits are it seems much more likely to me that in any given foreign matchup something is going to break.
If anything it's likelier a mixed-race couple* would be much more likely to lead to things not breaking. Many of the worst genetic illnesses are inherited precisely because both parents carried the same recessive gene, which is obviously less likely with more genetically distant partners. This is the whole reason inbreeding is risky.
*This is accepting, for the sake of argument, that you could call a French-Norwegian or French-Greek couple "mixed-race" with a straight face.

That's not how it generally works with progressives. All the matters is whether the victimizer is more "privileged" (i.e. white) than the victim. Otherwise they'd care far more about black people getting murdered by other black people than they do about the much rarer cases of them getting murdered by white people.
