if Finland today attacked Russia to try and recover Karelia (this happened around the same time as the creation of Israel) people's sympathies for them would be nowhere near the level they have for Ukraine, and rightfully so.

Why South Africa, Botswana and Nigeria officially report higher homicide rates (and by large margin) than less functional African countries? Low crime in African countries is suspect.

A thought was pursuing me for a long time, and visited me during Scott's poll again. What if we polled a large number of people about their SMV (e.g on 1 to 10 scale) and their SO SMV, and then check those whose estimates match estimates made by another people. It's very well known that people of both genders greatly overestimate their SMV. What if amongst people with no SMV self-bias we could find some people who are superforecasters without them having to spend tens of hours to play a game. And if you want answer to some difficult ethical question, it might be wise to ask them, they are more likely to give correct answer than people who can write long texts with links to "peer reviewed" articles.

No you didn't. IQ tests can be administered by anyone. Hlynka-intelligence can only be measured by Hlynka observing individual in real life setting. Nobody else here shares same idea about intelligence, not even most extreme anti-hbd.

Depends on what you mean by "that far".

Because what? Smaller animals significantly outperform larger animals with same brain size, their brains are more tightly packed. Why wouldn't be elephant sized brain with density of sparrow be smarter? Cooling might be a problem, though.

I would bet good money that taking a genome, and then editing it until it had every gene which is correlated with higher intelligence, would not get you a baby that was even a single standard deviation above what you would naively predict based on the parents.
What do you mean by this bet? Actually waiting for gene edited baby to grow is slow, and illegal, and we're still nowhere near to being able to edit 10,000 genes of future child without breaking unintended genes .
You are entirely correct that linear model has its limits. Arguing that than it would break well before 1 SD, is... just wishful thinking. There's still a lot of low hanging fruit.

This is very, very false equivalence. Wealth gaps are product of both policies and qualities of population. If you add low IQ permanent underclass to a country, keeping its economic policies same, then GDP per capita does down and Gini up. If everyone has same ability, then very intense competition doesn't create major difference in wealth. It's competition, not wealth gaps per se, creates economic growth.
I dont see strong correlation of what you claim on 2d plot: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/gini-coefficient-vs-gdp-per-capita-pip Very low GINI index doesn't help Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia grow economically. It's just a reflection that these countries quite homogenous in regard to IQ.
GDP per capita continues to grow in the US even with the vast expansion of welfare programs
Also obesity and number of HIV+ people in US continues to grow. Probably obesity is not harmful and even good for economic growth.

I have data on some USB flash drive than I need to recover; it seems just filesystem is corrupt (e.g. unsafe removal). I had prior experience with MS-DOS filesystems, but I'm completely lost now on modern systems. And it completely bugs me that Windows asks "this USB flash drive should be formatted before use, do it(Y/N)". It wants to destroy more data on which could be very innocent mistake. This is very very despressing. I tried googling and many advices are like to destroy any remaining data on drive, at least it's good that YTer warns if beforehand and says "if you need data, go watch a different video".
I'm somewhat afraid that even a paid professional would be lax with my data, or it will cost much, and I'm very short on cash.
How do I just look at drive at sector level? In DOS, I had this in my file shell, two clicks away. Now I need to install some software which advertises itself and now what it actually does.

One should never underestimate the male ability to completely not notice an approach by a woman.
For attractive men, it's very easy to build skill to recognize signs of women's approaching, because half of women like them. For unattractive men, who are repulsive to 95% of women, most of times when they think they're approached by woman, it'd be a false alarm, so it's difficult to build that skill.

my usage is essentially the ability to recognize and integrate new information "on the fly" and change one's approach accordingly, which while it is something can be assessed and tested for, it is quite distinct from "IQ".
I can't infer from these word how would it be from practice. So I ask you for examples of people who you consider to to be intelligent that are 1. intraverted 2. personalities disliked by you. Which you aren't giving.
