IME, everything you say about LLMs here is correct ... which is why anyone using AI for something of legal import ought to use multiple AIs to check each other's work. Having Grok / Opus / GPT fight it out should be more effective.
... summoning not 1, but 3 uncanny entities to grant wishes in tandem ... I think I'm starting to get why demonic possession coming in groups rather than one demon is so common. (That, or hallucinations and ticks don't respond to exorcisms as well but do know how to change their name mid exorcism, but the one that's a cautionary tale about overusing AI is more immediately relevant?)
The way I heard it, the CMC had a conspiracy to arrest Xi at his hotel, but failed and got consequently purged - that it was a response to a direct personal threat, rather than stamping out corruption. Sort of an "if you come for the king, don't miss" situation.
As middle age is encroaching upon my never-escaped-the-90s flesh, this scares me so very much. I already have lots of stupid brain malfunction moments, with increasing frequency. Not sure if age, medical side-effect, chronic health condition, or lifestyle-related ... but the next time I try to use my work badge to unlock my house, and my house key to pay for lunch, I can only really hope it's not in the same day, at this point. I know that's not precisely what you're talking about, but it's closely enough related that I am reminded of one by the other.
I will say, reading more, eating better, exercising regularly and fasting has helped my mental clarity enormously.
IME, same. Doing any of these intentionally under normal conditions is really difficult. Luckily, AI makes researching options easier... something about what I said feels contradictory in context.
IME, beggars hereabouts are either professional panhandlers, or conspicuously poor people who will ask for money to buy food but refuse offers of food. (My dad watched one immediately take the gifted money and rush into the liquer store, socks and no shoes). Even if the pros are bums rather than downtrodden, they at least know that gifted food means more of their alms go to something else. There's two axes, I guess—functionality and malice—and the problem is that the tails of each dominate, and the malicious above a certain level of functionality are better at pretending to be more benign.
Certain levels of disfunctional warrant institutional care. Above a certain level of malice, policing is required. The window of homelessness that is not covered by these has widened dramatically with the closing of asylums and the defanging of police, meaning that the tails kind of ruin it for the rest of the homeless, who already have it bad enough!
There are public long-term care facilities for sufficiently disfunctional adults in some areas in the US. Since I work at one, I am contractually obligated not to opine on whether or not people should use their services. I will say the state should just buy some Roombas, FFS.

I mean, he's a cross between Lex Luthor and the Joker, and as soon as he died, civilization burst into flames and hasn't stabilized since. If it turns out that we live in a world where a human can be the container holding back a force of chaos and destruction, some of which leaks out through his own acts of evil, then ... I mean, might as well be how reality works, at this point.
