I would say Buttigieg'a initial rise was more that he was a young mayor in a midwestern state. It would have been a nice story, but it is also the case that everyone realized that a gay candidate would be unelectable in the general even if they never said it.

Trump had a bigger popular margin than in 2016, but my point is that it was still quite narrow, and this is basically true of all post-Clinton elections. For Dems or Reps to claim the other side to be a minority faction rather than one of two more or less evenly matched contenders seems wrong, and this was true four years ago too.

How far left are we drawing the line to get to this "minority faction"? If mainstream Dems, then I would argue that it is quite clearly not a minority and essentially equivalent with Republicans as the dominant political force. Presidential elections are won by a few percentage points at the widest margin, for example.

The rationale on hotels would most obviously seem to be that Trump owns hotels. Whether this means he is self-dealing or is simply more sympathetic to labor supply complaints for hotels is perhaps up for debate.

I personally prefer Brotherhood (the continually building climax of the final dozen episodes is just very compelling for me), though I do like both and can see preferring either one. I think I recall liking the Brotherhood dub a lot more than 2003. One great thing about FMA is that both are very good so you can always go back for more by watching the remix.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is excellent - I have no idea on sub vs dub, but dub seemed fine. If you havent watched Avatar TLA, its original version is English. I adored Baccano!!

Why, then, is it that so many abortion bans do not have exceptions for rape? Falsely claiming that one was raped to get an abortion is not something I hear of very often. It seems like nothing but red meat for pro-choice people.

I completely agree that the general support for abortion stems mostly from both men and women wanting pregnancies to be optional; I think calling this desire an "accountability problem" is a pointlessly obtuse way of framing the issue except that it attempts to build consensus. Fwiw, both of my children were from unexpected pregnancies (birth control ain't got shit on me) that we actively elected to keep, which seems far better than having unexpected pregnancies that we were forced to keep and never got to consider "wanted".
However, I think you dismissing the extremely rare cases too easily. Having your daughter/self forced to carry a child of rape is a completely horrific scenario that you can except essentially no chance of. Having your wife (or worse, mother of your children) die because they were forced to carry a life-threatening pregnancy is another absolute nightmare. These are things that, from my perspective, need to just have a zero probability.

Was the failure of DOGE really due to red tape? It seems more like the team was out of its depth given the amount of exaggeration and inaccuracies about the level of savings. Most importantly, Musk and his team seemed not allowed or not inclined to pursue savings in the areas in which they could have had a material impact.

No, I do not think there are a great deal of high earning women who get married young, and your link is not saying that this occurs - only that it is common for medical professionals to marry other medical professionals. If you think that you should exclude various professionals for having too high a degree of sorting, using debt as a proxy for high level degree is a deranged way to carry this out.

Yeah but your algorithm is explicitly excluding high ability, very much marriage material doctors, lawyers, etc. This criteria is badly thought out; you would at minimum have to make it a combination of high debt and a "bad" degree.
You would be much better off doing some function of credit score and age.

Removing the discount for not having enough reuseable bags is a bad system. First, you are still saving the store money/reducing waste by bringing your own bag, so there is not a good financial/environmental reason. Second, this creates an incentive for buyers to limit the size pf their purchases to the bags they brought, which means more trips (bad environmentally) and smaller orders (bad financially).
The per bag system is basically fine. People hate the penalty of having to buy bags, so inplementing this without a legal mandate is very risky for the business. The amount of people who would spend the time to maximize the per bag discount is very very small, and the loss from this is also very small.

The simple, textual answer is just that DoDA in general only worked against bad guys. Expecto Patronus only kills Dementors, just like holy water only kills vampires. Indeed, when Potter et al are in duels, they largely rely on a disarming spell, not the death or pain spells. (The limited dueling repertoire is definitely a weakness of Rowling's action scenes.)

I don't think I agree that the Boomers are worse off than previous generations, though this may be true for Boomers that got smacked by the decline of manufacturing as a solid career. But overall, Boomers got the sustained growth boom of the 90s.
Something like Gen X or Millenials, who broadly got their early careers hurt by the GFC, have been exposed to the runup in housing prices (accompanied in recent years by higher interest rates), and are stuck paying for the unsustainable elder care that Boomers have voted for themselves, would be the generations I might pick as likely to be more worse off.

The total preservation of gross margin percentage, I agree, does not make total sense, but neither does only preserving absolute gross margin. At minimum, covering the tariffs requires more working capital, which adds some cost.

Huh? The Feb 2 tariffs on Canada and Mexico never took effect. They were set to begin the 4th, but were delayed on the 3rd. This is a strange point for you to bring up since I feel that it is an obvious reason for the market to indeed believe that cooler heads would prevail.
Didn't both Romney and Obama stake a claim on the technocrat lane? Wasn't the argument for Hillary supposed to be her competence? Biden's first term was initially supposed to be a return to the technocracy of Obama even though he [by which I mean Biden] turned out to not be that at all.
