Singles dating events, similar to the apps, are markets for lemons. Almost everyone who's there is very likely to not be partnered up for good reason. Sometimes you get lucky and catch a good match at their first event, or the reason they turn off everyone else is something you're happy with, e.g. they can't shut up about model trains.
It's more work but worth it to try to be a social butterfly and meet lots of people at events that aren't explicitly for singles. That way you can meet all the good catches who're single because they don't care enough to participate in the dating rat race, but would make for a good partner if you approach them.
That was made with AI? That's pretty impressive. I had assumed some amateur studio or dedicated individual spent a couple months on it.
I've been trying to read through DC comics released since 2023 with their soft Dawn of DC re-organization of titles. There's a hell of a lot of messy history and lore to the universe even with editors trying to shed baggage and start fresh storylines.
So... even though the twin studies can't really be proven, despite two decades of intensive, worldwide research focus and ungodly amounts of funding, he still argues they are "mostly right."
Because he goes through the potential mistakes twin studies could be making and convincingly dismisses them all. The only likely source of error would be assortive mating, which would be under estimating genetic impact. If you have an alternative explanation of what mistake the twin studies could be making and how they could correct for it, I'd love to hear
My prediction about DOGE from six months ago seems to have come true.

My prediction is that early on Musk will run into the incredibly thick red tape that normally prevents massive cuts in government, try to cut through it anyway because that's what he's used to in the private sector, and it results in some sort of lawsuit or other scandal.
It's particularly sad because this was a great opportunity for real reform. They just needed to focus on doing it through Congress passing laws to reform stuff, or altering overly stringent requirements independent agencies have made. Just trying to fire excess government employees is pointless as long the law says you need to first fire employees with under 2 years of tenure instead of firing based on actual merit. Otherwise you're doing nothing to get rid of layabouts and just get rid of any productive new hires you have.
Why would you need 'experts' (often captured by ideology)
It's just an extra data point. There's a lot to learn from experts. Heterodox experts, e.g Charles Murray, are still experts too.

Because redditors in niche subreddits are usually still somewhat bound to reality.
Nearly all sports allow for intergender competition and/or have an objective measurement of performance (often timings). In most sports the gaps are so enormous that there is no doubt at all.
Yes, so when nearly every sport is like that, including mental sports, that makes me think there are significant differences in the brain too, not just muscle/bone structure.

A huge factor is what interest rate you get on your mortgage. If your interest rate is below the appreciation rate of your house, then in the long term, it's basically free money.
