Trying to read ev results is just p hacking with a massive dose of hopium. It's meaningless unless you preregister a methodology and even then has very little power.
It's well understood that humans reach sexual maturity before mental and physical. The fact that a social reaches sexual maturity does not imply its ability to survive independently
They're immigrants so that explains that part. Deport?
Failing to seek medical attention for three weeks after an infant incurs obvious severe injuries in falling from a bed is culpable negligence.
This case is horrifying to read about. It's complicated by the fact that the parents obviously abused the child, but the prosecutors must have downgraded the charges because they didn't have enough airtight evidence. I'd imagine that the parents miiight be able to get out of charges if they failed to seek medical attention for an actual accidental injury.
The mom got off lightly with a plea bargain, the dad never should have went to trial, he got the book thrown at him, obviously.
Same during covid too.
The republicans fought covid restrictions and also largely pressed the yolo button when they were in control. I'm not really blaming the few republicans who lived in California for not an heroing fighting some covid cops
This article has an alternative take: https://nypost.com/2026/10/28/us-news/irene-miller-who-left-kids-for-vegas-trip-raged-at-them-for-calling-911-cops/
except for a babysitter who drove two hours from Tampa to check on them in the mornings and after school each day.
The mom hired a babysitter who lives in a totally different city? And the babysitter is driving 2 roundtrips each day, 2 hours each way? That adds up to 8 hours of driving per day. This doesn't really add up.
“She’s very dismissive to the deputy saying that she’s working right now…then says she is going to have to go and hangs up on the deputy,”
“Then she proceeds to call the 14-year-old on his cell phone, and I don’t want to use the word yell…but basically tells the 14-year-old, ‘Why are you calling 911? You’re going to get me in trouble,’”
Power tripping cops are a bad thing but they're a fact of life in any society. Spit in their face and expect consequences.
Mark Miller, 53, was hit with a criminal battery charge and restraining order after his wife of 15 years accused him of slapping her phone out of her hand during a heated confrontation outside of their kids’ school in August, according to court documents reviewed by The Post.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Allegedly
“The kids were ecstatic to see [their father]…like hugging him, happy to go with him, very ecstatic to see him,” Montes said, adding that the court-ordered no contact order between the parents did not mean the kids could not stay with their dad.
In the end the pending charges don't affect his custody, he's still the parent and nothing has been decided. Irregardless of the mom being investigated, it seems generally sane that the cops dumped the kids on him.
My own 2c is that leaving kids alone for a full 5 days is pushing it. And if you're sending a babysitter or something as an alternative caregiver, as the amount of time the parents are away increases, the amount of care required by the alternative caregivers increases as well. It's probably fine to leave the kids for 1 night and just have a babysitter check in. But for a whole week, the babysitter better be there all day every day.
And that applies even when the kids can take care of smaller kids. A young teen may be able to watch a younger kid for a couple hours alone. But he himself may not be able to take care of himself for a full week alone.
I'd imagine if the babysitter story checks out, and the kids were really being checked on twice a day every day, the charges are probably gonna get dropped. But if it was a lie or something, then she'll be punished for it.
High iq criminals are probably also better at commiting their crimes in a way that doesn't get reported

Slightly offtopic but fiiiiiinaly some big accounts are learning the magic of nano banana. I fucking hate seeing those ugly slop gpt-image-2.x images everywhere with their dogshit ai artifacts. Gemini image obviously looks ai but it's soooooo much less blatant and ugly.
I mean it could be all of those things, or something entirely different. I think tards is the easiest word that gets across what I mean. If you got a better one that means what I mean, then I'm all ears.
I don't have any stats of the effectiveness of psych treatment, but I'm guessing that for people who want to end it all there's some evidence that treatment moves the needle somewhat. Of course there are detractors who will claim that psych treatment is just quack science and does literally nothing, but at least the medical establishment will claim that their so-called evidence based treatments can help.
And I think wanting to punish your enemies before going out in a blaze of glory is actually a quite common ailment that there are tailored treatments for.
was a special needs child.
Very unclear what this means. Was he like a tard or something else, because usually those classes are for tards. I'm all for guns for everyone but the mom buying this kid a guy as a gift seems like one of the decisions of all time.
Do they think he wouldn’t have done this if he just had the right chemicals in his brain or the right therapist to talk to?
... yes?
years-overdue Kickstarter scam developers that the jig is up.
I think one big issue is having a project without raising enough money to work on it full time. If that's the case, it's still just a hobby project, with the money raised versus not. People like this should just keep working on their hobby and release it when it's done.
Honestly scamstarter should set a minimum of like 200k or something just to raise money, as anything less isn't enough to actually fund the development of a new product. And if they want to raise less just to do a production run at a factory for a product that's ready to make, they'd better have a final quote from the factory before raising the money.
A lot of software ships with support for mod_php, up to and including mainstay software like Nextcloud
True but I feel like very little php software at this point requires mod_php and doesn't run better on fpm. Nextcloud prefers fpm.
They should yank the module so that incompetent shared hosting providers are forced to update their setups.
https://www.php.net/manual/en/install.unix.apache2.php
Do not use mod_php for new installations. The instructions on this page are retained for historical reference and for the rare cases where embedding PHP directly in the Apache httpd process is specifically required.
At this point they should really stop shipping it
or, frankly, using Apache
What's wrong with apache?
On the other side of this, AI can now shut down 70% of the Internet.
The fears of AI superpowering the script kiddies were overblown, at least so far: https://eliastaylor.com/noexploit/
I think that a lot of people had assumed that LLMs will be able to build an exploit chain instantly from reading the diff, and that even if this was harder to exploit than other exploits, LLMs would've levelled the playing field. Well. There's no working exploit. Now what?
That's not to say that the exploit isn't bad, but it may have been overhyped. The actual "hack any website instantly" button remains in the hands of only a few elite hackers, if it exists at all.
you can reverse engineer Microsoft Office and host it online for free.
This is bullshit. According to anyone who actually claims to have used these vibe coded clones, they are buggy and unusable. They are created by grifters who want attention and do not even use the tools they are cloning.
I unfortunately have to admit that there are some (not many) quite useful vibe coded apps starting to roll out, but this isn't it. As far as I know, all of the useful ones were created to solve some of the creator's needs, rather than just built to be something flashy.
Let's have another one about AI, this time about deepfakes. A picture of a somalian politician speaking in front of an upside down American flag was circulating on Twitter. Fortunately, we had a helpful journalist investigate, and debunk the image as a deepfake. The politician's staff helpfully provided the real image.
Only one problem. The original image circulating on Twitter was real. And the image provided by the politician herself was the fake.
On Monday, Oct. 19, the Oregon Journalism Project published a story questioning the video’s authenticity, describing it as a deepfake — a manipulated video potentially crafted using artificial intelligence — and reporting that the flag had actually been displayed right side up at the event.
...
But by Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 20, the Oregon Journalism Project had retracted its story, acknowledging that newly obtained images confirmed the flag was, in fact, upside down.
...
The image credited to Fai shows apparent inconsistencies: a section of the flag in the lower-left corner appears misaligned with the rest of it, just below the graphic displaying her name, and a corner of a star appears to be missing near the top of the flag.
As of right now, the politician's own Twitter is still linking to the now-retracted article, which used the deepfake that she herself provided.
I think the most shocking thing here is that a "journalist" had both the real and fake images in front of her, didn't even take the smallest steps to verify the authenticity of either image. Did she just assume that a politician wouldn't just ... lie ... and simply felt like the authority was enough to come to a conclusion? I think this forum already knows, but journalistic integrity has fallen so far that this laughably bad deepfake is just passed off as true because someone said so. Once deepfakes get more convincing (I had the latest nano banana try generating a similar deepfake and it was basically flawless), we're going to have to stop trusting the papers and our lying eyes too.
The other thing is that this is some seriously insane level of chutzpah here. Who is going to see a real image circulating around, then call the real image a deepfake, then provide their own deepfake as the supposed "real" image as "proof"? It's so farfetched that I'm surprised anyone would think this harebrained plot would work. Yet somehow it did and was regurgitated in other outlets including our favourite Axios.
This also shows that a politician can just pants on fire lie now with zero consequences. Not like trump level off the cuff stupid lies, but lie about what literally just happened at an event that dozens of people attended, with a multitude of official and unofficial videos and photos posted on multiple social media platforms, including the politician's own Facebook page. To point to a completely authentic image and just lie and call it fake. The gaslighting is off the charts. She can post "This never happened here's "proof"", while the video evidence is RIGHT THERE, posted on literally the same Facebook page, and people will eat it up.
In the comments sections and Twitter (stupid places I know) they are somehow still arguing that the evil nazis are somehow still the bad guys in this situation.
Anyways I suspect that once activists figure out on a wide scale what they can get away with on deepfakes with zero consequences, and how bad people are at noticing them, things are going to get really messy really fast.
(I don't want this to be about a left/right thing, I want to talk about ai and fact checking and whatever please)
I think you're making some good points and my argument is phrased quite poorly. I think it kind of conflates and the idea of wanting to become a woman and the idea of wanting to transition. I'm kind of too tired to put this coherently for now but you're definitely largely right.
I'm sure there will be many people who can answer this. And they will probably be more sympathetic to the trans cause. But to the average person's point of view the trans person's pov is so alien as to be indistinguishable from insanity.
It's not about attainability but relatability. Nearly everyone in the world would want 1 million dollars if you offered it to them. Moving to germany is a bit more situational but most people can acknowledge that germany has pretty good sausage, kraut, beer, and fast cars. But ask a random person what's in it for someone who wants to be a woman and he'd likely be at a loss.
And it's not just that they want to be a woman. They want it so bad they'll chop off their dicks and pump their bodies full of chemicals to make a poor imitation of this.
It's certainly unclear whether it was just activists making that claim versus it being widely accepted in the anti-gay community. I find it more likely that people hated the gays first (while understanding their existence) and came up with rationalizations second.
I think there's also a nuance in the understanding in that they can believe that someone can be brainwashed into actually being gay, and actually legitimately enjoying the feeling of guzzling cock. But anti-trans will believe that nobody can be trans. Their claim is that trans people literally cannot exist and trans identifying people are simply brainwashed into participating in self mutilation. That trans identifying people won't be happy about it, but won't be able to speak up while being imprisoned by ideology and a destroyed body.
Address is correct according to this article (modulo a typo): https://www.dailysignal.com/2026/10/19/texas-families-lgbt-student-resource-guide-mailers/
TENT responded to the Daily Signal’s request for comment about the physical mailers.
At the end of the email received by the Daily Signal, TENT included its mailing address: “116111 W. Airport Blvd. #180, Meadows Place, Texas 77477.” That address is similar to the one listed on the pamphlet, but it appears no such address exists.
Getting the number slightly off is a very believable typo, and both addresses point to the same nonexistent place in the city. Either way, you can generally put whatever you want in that field, so whether it's right or wrong doesn't mean anything, and there's no reason a false flagger would intentionally make it close but not exact, so I think typo is almost certainly the case.
Edit: It appears there's a ups store at 11611 (thanks chat gpt), I bet it's likely that address, and both the fakers and real group made a typo on the number. It's very common advocacy groups and stuff to use po boxes, so that's not at all unusual.
Mtf majorly outnumbers ftm iirc
Defenders would say that if someone undertook an unnecessary procedure out of delusion, then it's a personal failure and is not something the fault of what trans advocates have done. They never were and never will be part of the trans community.

Yet 100% of all elected democrat lawmakers support legalizing abortion at any time. It's not possible to name a single dissenter because there isn't one.
Maybe democrats are too embarrased to say it directly when asked in a survey, but they're all too happy to vote for murdering children.
