Small-Scale Question Sunday for October 26, 2025

Do you have a dumb question that you're kind of embarrassed to ask in the main thread? Is there something you're just not sure about?

This is your opportunity to ask questions. No question too simple or too silly.

Culture war topics are accepted, and proposals for a better intro post are appreciated.

I'm having sudden and visceral flash-backs to 2016.

The actual strategic play on the left is not to oppose Trump, it's to amplify him. If Red America wants to vote in a demagogue real estate developer who larps at conservatism, more power to them. They'll just be over in the corner eating popcorn and taking notes.

As a result, the anti-Trump coalition is a slapdash contraption hobbled [sic(?) cobbled?] together by people who mostly despise each other and are united only in their disbelief that American voters could possibly be this dumb, financed by a couple of boomer billionaires who are not particularly relevant. Thus the reason you don't see any coherent opposition is because it doesn't exist. Trump will be the next President of the United States, and his supporters will get what they voted for, good and hard.

Lol, very true! It's pretty much the same reaction.

Though the subjects are not the same, and that difference is everything.
