Small-Scale Question Sunday for February 22, 2026

Do you have a dumb question that you're kind of embarrassed to ask in the main thread? Is there something you're just not sure about?

This is your opportunity to ask questions. No question too simple or too silly.

Culture war topics are accepted, and proposals for a better intro post are appreciated.

After realizing that consistently successful investing/trading is to a very large degree a mental and emotional game.

Knew a career Wall Street guy who once said something to the effect of "If monks didn't take a vow of poverty, they would crush all of us" (can't remember the exact quote. It was more pithy).

There are definitely similarities between what one does on the path to awakening and what a trader who's going to be consistent must do. For one, one must give up the demand for certainty or reliability from an always unreliable world/market. Anything can happen, and you have to accept that 100%. If you don't you'll let the best opportunities pass you by because you want a confirmation of sorts first. Then you might compound the mistake by going for a lesser opportunity because you feel you've been inactive. Strangely specific. Ahem.
