I can see why you come to that conclusion from reading The Darkness That Comes Before but Kellhus isn't the Bakkerian self-insert. He represents rapacious modernity more than he is a person. It's meant to be uncomfortable.
The real Bakkerian self-insert is Achamian - the sorcerer. He's a philosopher, like Bakker himself, continually praises the path of doubt and uncertainty and is willing to keep fighting for humanity despite it writing him off as damned.
