Who judges the mistreatment? The child is likely a poor judge.
The intervention in your hypothetical results in material improvement and better life. Grievance over something you can't change and resulted in better outcomes than non-intervention seems poorly considered. It may make the people who intervened wish they left you with your shitty birth family. Is that a better outcome, if it dissuades future positive interventions?

The view now is that previous attempts to inculcate native peoples with the mindset and skills necessary for survival in western civilization is genocide.
I don't know what definition of genocide was available to them at the time.

Maybe it's a protestent thing, ours has a fellowship hour following service every Sunday. There's tea, coffee, pastries, fruit, sandwiches, etc., in the fellowship hall.
There are also bible study groups, and opportunities for volunteering in support of church activities.
Why can't it be a church service and a social occasion? Does anyone linger to chat? Is there a bulletin, worship guide or website that lists upcoming activities? Are there any organized activities for the feast days?
I've only lived in Europe and the US, my experience may not translate.

Windows up and doors locked, is sound practice, as is not wearing expensive jewelry, watches, clothes in crime prone areas.
Other senarios allow for blame sharing, unhelmeted motorcyclists, unseatbelted auto occupants, drunk women (drivers), Darwin award winners.
The thoughts of the victims and their allies should be partiality discounted. They've demonstrated their understanding of the nature of their environment is lacking.

This sounds like a strawman no one is arguing for. The reality is typically agricultural land abutting protected conservation land or SFR that a developer wants a change in use to support multi-family, mixed use, or SFR McMansions.

No. They're entitled to vote in town elections and attend and vote at town meetings. They, other abutters and residents may object to the proposed change of use. There are rules to ensure proposed changes in use are not detrimental to the town and residents.
The only one I'm aware of is Boys Beware, it seems pretty measured to me.

Social pressure to speak English, be more "american", anglicize, their name, be productive, follow the existing mores, etc.
Government pressure to detect, infiltrate and disrupt their criminal networks, ensure the state is not losing revenue to tax fraud, welfare fraud, etc. Inspection prior to admission for signs of contagious disease, poor physique, feeblemindedness or insanity, criminal records or signs of low moral character.
Absent intermarriage or other dilution of their ethnic heritage, why wouldn't you be able to distinguish Italians, Poles and Germans? It's something that many people in Europe are able to do routinely with better than chance outcomes.

Once you're sufficiently familiar with the peoples of Europe in their native lands it's easier to distinguish among them.
