Malaysia is funny in that you've kind of got 4 side by side comparisons in the form of Singapore/Malaysia/Brunei/Indonesia where when you crank up the level of Chinese influence you see notably higher affluence.
Also Malaysia's politics are a mess where the Malays get significant advantages enshrined in the state and can't even maintain parity with them despite also having a de facto racial monopoly over Malaysia's oil wealth etcetera. Also frankly the Malay population was kind of off on a branch of fairly weak and superstitious Islam until relatively recently and they tend not to like it when Arab immigrants come in and question their lack of piety

I mean if God himself interceded with Western Democracies tomorrow and raised everybody's life expectancy to 110 it'd probably be bearish. The chances of getting retirement age reform through would be minimal and the social benefits calculus would be even more fucked

AI for military planning feels like a bit of a non sequitur. Both in the sense of 'what degree did they contribute' and in the sense of the USA being in a position of such profound advantage in technology and force projection that they could probably get a way with 'Rank these 5 sites in order we should hit them' and have it be a productive question to ask. It's not like AI is gonna bridge the gap and allow a country to suddenly swing way above their weight class

Most of the constituent people in the dictatorship want relative stability and less threat of being spontaneously blown up so they can funnel money to their Coachella-bound children. Actual pitched war is very stressful

Muslims in America are vastly more educated and affluent than they are in the current European wave. It's pretty apples to oranges when you're managing to effectively skim the absolute cosmopolitan cream of Islamic countries and also can stop critical mass forming in localities.
I'd be interested to see the exit rate for populations like Minnesota's Somalis in a century as they seem to have formed more of a parallel society/economy and therefore I'd expect have less pressure to drift or opportunity to marry out. This is also generally an issue with a lot of backward looking studies of immigrants since it's very much apples to oranges in the selective pressures and ability to retain connection to external cultures than it was even 25 years ago

I mean I'm not saying she had to be sitting naked on his desk or anything, but an awareness of how to play the game and a bubbly personality can do a ton. Even in the linked photos of the woman she's smiling and leaning in in most of them to randoms.

I agree the menu is bloated way beyond sanity by the arms race between the majors (though most of the liquidity still goes to the liquid markets funnily enough). Accurate gambling odds vis a vis the PM thing is a completely different thing since the big PMs are barely moving any money on their original political markets.

Iranian refugees are already a thing with a large overseas diaspora. You're missing what a bubble is.
A technology can have profound long-term effects that are positive for everybody, yet still generate a bubble for investors who rush to try and take advantage of that effect and don't end up actually investing in the correct manifestation to make any money. The bubble is from the POV of those attempting to speculate on something, the actual relevant technology is immaterial
