I'd argue online dating actually makes it more practical to hard filter by attributes like this, which is why people aren't forming relationships as much. They're not placing themselves in the position to have chemistry override quibbles at the rate that prior eras did. People are inherently fungible and easily replaced on apps, you can even literally filter for a lot of these attributes on major apps and just not see people who don't meet your criteria.

The troubles had the advantage of a land border with a state that was broadly sympathetic with the struggle and reasonably off limits to incursions.
Also the actual casualties being like 50,000 over a 30 year period and fatalities being like 100 a year. The troubles generated a hell of a lot of vibes but in realistic terms weren't actually that big a deal

I don't think many people are doubting the legality of the Babbitt shoot. They're saying the optics were horrible and that the equivalent leftwing figure is a supermartyr.
Also the leftwing should inherently have their sympathy dial turned to 8/10 at all times versus the conservative dial being at 4/10, which makes it shocking when an incident like that just gets instantaneously overlooked and justified.

Cantonese is declining due to a mix of intra-sinosphere immigration (tends to speak Mandarin), less push from education system and Hong Kong losing the media edge that it had for decades
Most Chinese speakers over 30 or so will have a bit of Cantonese just due to how dominant Hong Kong cinema and TV were across broader Chinese culture.

I mean kids for the most part don't really incur the 'massive medical expenditure to win another year of quasi-life' issue that the elderly do. Part of the equation is that the current level of elder care is just unsustainable unless a precipice is reached for genuine productive longevity instead of elongated fragility.
