Definition of worked is a bit different when one is eternally on call digitally versus straight up office availability hours.
I've got a Nanny who comes from a subsistence agriculture society in deepest darkest Indonesia and she's pretty candid about her childhood of sub $1k USD per Capita poverty which I've always found interesting as a resource

In the long run the government is typically subsidizing these industries via providing a settlement pathway to foreign workers at the bottom end. A green card or a Western passport is worth considerably more than any tenure of unpleasant work and that cost will eventually be repatriated from taxpayers

But when a lot of these immigrant subsidies programs come with implied PR or citizenship pathways the work is massively overpaid not underpaid.
If I get a UK care worker from Nigeria at 10k GBP a year below prevailing rate for 5 years, but the government allows them ILR and a potential passport after that 5 years the latter is worth millions of pounds in benefits. Especially if there's any sort of family reunification at play. If anything the majority of foreign low skilled workers in the West are being massively overpaid due to their potential to get citizenship

Those are separate issues. I believe the gap between the lifestyles of the middle class and the top echelons in Western society are closer than they essentially have been at any point since feudalism. Most billionaires spend just as much time as you do scrolling their phone, etcetera.

True. These days the lifestyle value of money hits massive marginal diminishing returns quite quickly. Even those who are fortunate enough to secure enough money to secure a good life in perpetuity tend to hedonistic treadmill themselves to death

VA pension struggles with the standard public healthcare thing where people who know the right combination of buttons to press/right case workers to use can quite easily get luxury communism for difficult to dispute conditions. People with actual conditions that don't slide neatly into the classification buckets and/or don't have a case worker with an interest in bolstering them can quite easily get fucked.
Whenever attempts are made at curtailing spending on the first bucket, there's sufficient of the second bucket to walk out and argue.

I mean they let Polyphemus talk in the prayer bit which was bizarre since it both had Polyphemus directly addressing Poseidon as his father which shit on the vague agnosticism of the rest of the film, and it established that he could talk.
IMO scene should either have been totally mute Cyclops or the whole thing. Plus the sheep tying situation just kinda comes out of nowhere since it's never established the cyclops is either intelligent enough to check nor that they've got a system beyond sprint for the exit.
Being able to talk nerdy as a 7+ and/or have both the attraction to engineering types and the ruthlessness is a superpower. Aella discourse same thing
