The protagonists from L4D are regular looking slice-of-life type people. Last few GTA's as well.
But to your point I did have to rack my brain for a few minutes to come up with those.

What do you guys think about the reddit IPO from an investor's perspective?
Not seeing any good analysis about it on Reddit, but I'm sure there's really a ton of analysis to be had. They're not currently profitable, and the path to profitability isn't entirely clear from what I've read. All the investing subs are generally pessimistic but their reasoning mostly boils down to "reddit bad". I'm sympathetic to that take, I would also agree that the quality of reddit on aggregate has been going down (exacerbated around 2016ish IMO), but that doesn't mean it can't be profitable. Plenty of unprofitable companies IPO and end up profitable down the road.
I'm a boring low-cost index fund kind of guy so I'm staying away from it either way. I just haven't seen any real justification for why someone should or shouldn't buy besides vibes.

In Time (2011) had an awesome premise but a not amazing execution so I'm not sure I can really recommend it. From wikipedia:
In 2169, people are genetically engineered to stop aging on their 25th birthdays and are given one free year to live. Everyone has a timer on their forearm that shows their remaining time; when it reaches zero, the person "times out" and instantly dies.
Time is now the universal currency, transferred directly between people or stored in capsules. The country is divided into Time Zones; Dayton is the poorest, a ghetto where people rarely have more than 24 hours on their timer. New Greenwich is the richest, people there are effectively immortal.
Film left a lot to be desired unfortunately. The casino scene could have been thrilling as all hell but it just kinda... Wasn't.

Me and groups of up to 6 people all experiencing the same things, both together and separately, convinced me.
Care to share your experience?
It's similar to chess where most tournaments are open to everyone while some are only open to certain demographics (seniors, women, casino employees, etc.). Also like chess women are greatly underrepresented at the highest levels of the game. And yes, there have been controversies in recent years where clearly male-presenting people have entered and won ladies tournaments and tried to claim they're actually trans women.
