This is much simpler than you're trying to make it. A site cert needs to only tell me it has not been MITMd. So if your domain's cert hash appears in your dns and that cert for that domain is verifiable to have existed N number of days/months ago then that's fine for me.

"The police" in that case as an organization has shown decades of conscious two-tiered policing letting things slide for fear of being called racist and/or corruption (the grooming gangs). The entire govt apparatus has been shown to disenfranchise its own population. So yes, "the police" is actually a better example because that is a coherent "community" with top down membership control.

Is that what was going on, I fully expected Canada to be populated entirely by the Andorians just chomping at the bit to call you a pink skin while relaxing on a lounger to the chilly summer sub-zero temps and biting cold sun rays.
You know, I would have been fine with "or else they mean nothing". I can see the end result of the fumbling of the bag by "the greatest generation, the silent generation and the boomers".
