You like to blame things on other people, but your entire recent posting history is telling everyone they're wrong in their criticism of your moderation. And I know you take pride in being broadly disliked because you think it means you're pissing off everyone evenly, but how can you look at the responses and see them as demonstrating community support for your tactics?
I don't expect this will get through to you. It'll just be another round of blaming everyone else.

I saw a clip of Neuro being amazingly good at "Where's Waldo." Like "he's by the boat with yellow sails at the top right" level of identifying and understanding images. I wonder if that sort of skill is done with separate models that talk to the main one, or if it's integrated.

I guess you're a lot better at the actual "UFO defense" part of UFO defense than I ever was lol. I always struggled with the air war, and couldn't have pulled off dominance like that with interceptors.

I really don't think it is. Booby traps, steel doors, fences, land mines, etc. are just delaying tools. Unless they're covered by fire they're hardly an obstacle at all.
If your booby traps are diy you get your head blown off because of a bad Linux update on the PC running KillDriver1.07.5(final)b(7).bin.
If your booby traps are standard models the robbers know the auto-turret only tracks 23.5 degrees vertical so there's a blind spot between your roof and the tree by your perimeter wall etc. etc. These guys are already using Ali-express broad-spectrum jammers to take out non-hardwired security systems, they're not just drunken nogs with rocks.
You need 4 things in a security system: identify, delay, fix, eliminate. Booby traps only do the 2nd or 4th of those.
If your front door land mine goes off, how do you know it got all of them? What do you do now? Even if you're sure the bird bath zyklon sprayers got the stragglers, you still need a team to sweep and confirm.
With a response team attackers know they could be surrounded and counter-attacked at any second. They're not advancing slowly and carefully against a passive system, taking 10 to disarm traps. They're in a race against time to get something done before they lose the initiative.
Drones are an alternate active response that people should be looking into. Tethered drone with a grenade is going to be the cheapest flexible response tool available.
Eh, there's definitely points in the campaign of both the original and remake where a squad wipe is game over. If you can't get a B-team up, armed, and (in og) psi-resist tested before you wipe, you'll end up trying to fight ethereals with a truck full of laser rifle rookies who get mind-controlled into killing each other every turn.
The remake made it even worse with the 4 soldier limit. Very easy to not get any backup team trained, because how are you gonna take a dead weight rookie as 1/4th of your squad? Long War raising that to 6-10 and adding a fatigue system to make you rotate troops was a huge improvement.
The wealthy in urban and suburban areas already do live in compounds with armed private security on automatic call (and not mall cops, we're talking neighborhood swat teams). That's a better solution than booby traps as long as you can rely on the security force.
There's a lot South Africans on off-grid solar forums, because they need full coverage camera setups to stay powered when the grid's out (or attackers cut it). Often hundreds of watts of IP cams wired to PoE injectors and a PC running blue iris.
I've said before that cameras are the most important thing after a gun and a basic fence. If you don't have advance notice you're dead.
I have some English relatives in Johannesburg who are very much in favor of Killing The Boer. There's a definite racial hatred element born out of the English conquest and Boer resistance.
My vague understanding is that the English supported the overthrow of the government on the assumption that they would profit by remaining the wealthy managerial caste of South Africa. Of course, you'd need to read a history book by some awful racist for that sort of thing to get mentioned without reading between the lines.

Apparently it's 9m now, but wow my general assumption based on size was off by about 3x. Didn't really get how much of the southwest is pure mountain until I checked a map.
What really gets me is the constant jumping between the callous "whatever, call me when there's another 5 million dead, who cares when we can kill Russians so cheap" and "it's the crime of the century for trump to return draft-dodgers to fight in Ukraine!"
I know a handful of 20-something Ukrainians who managed to get out before the mass roundups of fresh meat started. I don't want them to be sent back to die, but the same people who casually talk about feeding another million men like them into the meat grinder to spite Russia don't seem very consistent in their callousness.
If a liberal is happy to draft every Ukrainian man and boy from 16 to 50, but doesn't want to send the women currently shopping in Paris and skiing in Switzerland back to work in the shell factories... To me that looks like the actual geopolitical goal is less "winning" than killing as white men as possible in grotesque drone snuff videos to share on bluesky.

Don't we recognize dual citizenship? I've got two passports and nobody's ever said anything about it.
Ha. I took an old blanket down to start using my summer cabin early, and spent an hour sneezing and dribbling before going to get an anti- allergen. You don't realize how dusty stuff has gotten until you stick your face in it.
What's humid enough for you? It's usually 40-50% indoors here, which feels about right. Cold snap with a fire running gets it down to 20%, which is enough to dry out my everything.
Any tips on a pre-training program? It'll be a while before I move somewhere I can actually take lessons, but my cardio right now is so dogshit I'd need at least a year just to avoid dying on the first day. I can just about wrestle with sheep for a few hours, and they're not usually trying to choke me.
Do any of our resident doctors know anything about clostridial diseases? Tetanus, botulism, pulpy-kidney, black liver, etc.
You can vaccinate livestock for all of them, but afaik the only one available for humans is tetanus. Considering how untreatable a lot of them are ("supportive care and possibly surgery to cut out destroyed tissue"), I'm surprised there's not more focus on it.
And yeah, I've been sitting here staring at an animal going "is she more twitchy than usual? Is it normal to stick her head bolt-out like that?"

Sending in the army to arrest city bureaucrats for insurrection against the federal government and aiding designated terrorist groups (cartels)? I can definitely see that, because it's something I would do.
Similar normalization method though. Nobody would have accepted WW1 casualties ahead of time, but it starts with a trickle and before you know it nobody cares any more.
If the wave of patriotism lasts through the first expeditionary force being wiped out, they'll keep going until they've run out of young men to kill. And there's a lot of suppressed rage and fervor in all these countries just waiting for a socially acceptable outlet. As we're seeing with Canada right now.

I've actually always wondered if you could pour a bunch of coal into a shipping container to make use of the basically free return trip. Bulk shipping rates are even lower though. Can't beat $30/ton all the way to China. Damn.

A lot of places in SA were built decades before the security situation got this bad, so you get a lot of "standard suburban house surrounded by razor wire and spike walls"
