Republicans prominently mocked the idea of using government power to help the objectively most disadvantaged and most loyal constituency they had
You didn't like what I wrote - OK.
I wouldn't foist unwanted things upon my family or community because I was unhappy about even a dozen things, but let's include these: the war, sending aid we cannot afford, and objectively for me, paying about $1/per gallon more for a gallon of gas.
--------------------------------- This is from AI---------------------- For regular unleaded in Florida:
Today (Nov. 5, 2026): average about $3.83-$3.84 per gallon according to AAA. Start of 2024 (January 2024): Florida's average fell to about $2.99 per gallon in late January, the first time below $3 that year. The lowest state average in January 2024 was $2.988/gal on Jan. 22, 2024.
So compared with the beginning of 2024:
Then: about $3.00/gal Now: about $3.84/gal Difference: roughly +$0.84/gal, or about 28% higher.
No. Yes. Those that hold and advocate for ideas inconsistent with constitutional values and protections cannot honestly affirm to uphold and protect the Constitution.
affect the first and fourth Clauses in the Ninth Section of the first Article
Your point: The U.S. Constitution does not contain an explicit "eternity clause" ... Correct. That said, some theorists have argued that there may be implicit limits on amendment power, such as a prohibition on destroying the Constitution's fundamental character (for example, abolishing republican government altogether).
This is what I was trying to say. The Founders did their best. Their intent should prevail and be respected.
If the use of inclusive language, meant to be inclusive - we and us and our - are taboo here, OK. But if that were the extent of my post, I don't see how it amounts to anything but a sentence fragment without a predicate, and without a side.
I don't think it would have shifted the outcome of this election.
My call is to preserve the integrity of this country in the Founder's conception and, yes, in my interpretation.
Certain ideas are not good for society, and we have to concede that we (humankind) for the most part, have decided that we want the benefits of that society - more productive, divisions of labor, safety, law and order, etc., so allowing ideas that have no positive grounding in math or history is destructive, and to us all I believe.
I think the clause speaks for itself, but if unclear, my appeal is to the logic that the Founder's intent should prevail and be respected. If someone is against personal property, the separation of powers, the rule of law, and frankly against Christianity, they are unable to honestly swear to defend the Constitution.
I don't advocate for banning anyone's religion or opinions. But certain positions just disqualify some from holding or seeking office under the Constitution.
Your right that this is my first post. I will read through all the replies. Didn't mean anything by posting it in two places, but that was a suggestion from someone else.
You say that you know what the consensus here is. If you meant in the replies, that will be ascertained. If not...?
And doesn't this from you: "almost certainly a sockpuppet, and very likely a ban evader, consider yourself on notice and on our radar" constitute name-calling and bullying?
I thought honestly that I had been judicious. I'll rethink.
Of the two places that I posted, which do you think I should take down? Much appreciated.
Well, let's at least try to preserve it by honoring the Founders intent.
It has been suggested to me that a mandamus petition can be filed in each state (They need to be simultaneously filed). That such is an inexpensive filing - about $400 - and that by law, the AG must respond in short order, less than 30 days.
Because we notified every reporting outlet, honest or not, Joe Rogan and his ilk, and included the social media giants of X and TikTok, that we had done so, regardless of the particular blue-state refusals or equivocations, it would force public awareness and a national conversation that couldn't be avoided or completely hidden.
I am soliciting. Any interested takers? FL, TX, AK AG's?
True, true, but I may have muddled my point: that the Founders intent should obviously be honored. I don't think the Oath Clause fails as the letter of the law, but if fudging interpretists want to only apply it should you lie about insurrection activities, I believe we must follow the spirit of the law.
Hey Mad, I was probably drinking one afternoon in 2010 and that sequence of words just popped into my head. I liked the simplicity and the alliteration.
Announcing that I voted democrat because I didn't like this or that, maybe I was told that I shouldn't like this or that - simplified, I know, but...
We all should know what is good for our lives, the lives of our families, neighborhoods, communities. We should know right now what we should be voting for next election, and the next, and the next. Doing the ultimate cut-your-nose-off to spite your face is unintelligent and should not be allowed.
I declared that there ought to be an intelligence test for US voters back in 2010.
Hypotenuse, harmony, harpy, hiccup. If you need to look up more than one of these words to either spell it correctly or to get its definition, then you should not be voting.
Is America doomed to fail, and is it near-term? I want to find a solution to this because the answer should be no, but that's not where we are headed. We must conclude that the people who disagree with us, those who voted opposite to our desires yesterday, are who they are, as a product of their environment. Their rearing, their education, their associations, and if what has been inculcated in them has been biased in the opposite of my/our own values their whole life, and if now they are part of the third and perhaps fourth generation holding the same biases down from their forefathers, never having heard anything but that bias, than we understand the unsolvable conflict ripping this country apart today.
How can we reinform those in our society who are tearing down that society? Eighty years of forced contrition? And how do we overcome the captured institutions and the corrupt politicians and unelected bureaucrats to put resolute legislation into effect? Such does not seem workable. Do we let the society crumble until violent revolution is the only alternative left beside our own contrition?
I simply posit the following: The Founders of this country formed the government of The United States and the Constitution protecting it from the best western traditions of representative government from Greece on down. They did so to guarantee that we are a constitutional republic and that we would remain that way. Therefore, no tinkering with the specificities of language or colloquial interpretations thereof, can allow for a change in that intent. I.e. The U.S. Constitution innately protects its own survival. It guarantees the right to personal property, separation of powers, the freedom of religion, the rule of law. It does not allow the substitution or adoption of any other ideology - communism, socialism, etc., to supplant it.
The Oath Clause (Article VI, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution) states: "The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; ..."
Attorney Generals in all 50 states whether corrupt or not, must be made to enforce this law. This law removes the likes of Bernie Sanders, AOC, Ilhan Omar, El Sayed and any others of their ilk from office and should have prevented all DSA candidates from even running. Enforcing this law is the only way we can preserve this country as intended. Enforcing it, may make you mad at me - make you hate my guts - but it does not force you to change your opinions.

"Classist" - yeah, I think so. It's mostly supposed to be funny, but I posted it in a comment to someone exonerating voters for voting contrary to their former interests as a punishment vote.
As I already commented to another, I was probably drinking one afternoon back in 2010, and it just popped into my head.
It was directed at my side of the political fuss, back when republicans were flipping their loyalties from Mitt Romney to Newt Gingrich to Rick Santorum, at break-neck speed, over any little faux pas.
The point as I have commented elsewhere, is that one should know by a certain point in their life - what is good for themself, what is good for their family, their neighborhood, their community, and have solid beliefs of what is good for their country. And because of that, they should already know what they will vote for next election, and the next, and the next.
