Not far-left, these people backed Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden.
I think a lot of right wingers miss this. These people had meltdowns on CNN when it looked like Bernie was going to win. Also while things have coalesced now Bernie was the anti woke candidate in 2016. With Hillary sniping that breaking up the banks would do nothing to solve racism and Bernie's supporter accused of being sexist Berniebros.
No? Silicon Valley isn't going to be "purged" in any Dem administration and people always gripe about powerful people cozying up to their political opponents.
Not immediately but Massachusetts has yearly reviews and it's hard to see what medical justification they'd have to hold her after she's been stable a few years. So yeah it seems possible she'd get out in under five.
It's not a motte and baily the Democrats just aren't actually Marxists or anticapitalists. And the term socialist in America is so distorted anyway most self identified socialists in America do just want healthcare. Everyone to the left of the Republican party is not some hardcore Commie.
Trying to expand to the Imperial borders in the interwarflux is a world of difference between trying to hunt down random groups of prosperous rich people.
while Reddit believes he (we know itβs a male because the defense said so) is an MRA/red piller and needs to have his phone searched.
The party line on reddit seems pretty split between she needs to go to jail and she needs to be institutionalized. The commentators seem divided into thirds with the above two opinions and Lindsay truthers. Plenty of threads asking how anyone could defend here ect. There doesn't really seem to be a dominate narrative and actually quite a bit of backlash to the tiktok girlies.
"Socialists" tend to stop at their own borders, and I'm rolling my eyes that the Democrats who control the two most powerful centers of capitalism that have ever existed are some kind of Commie.
But there are plenty of bolt holes for Randian supermen and there will remain so. Dubai and Singapore exist as well as special economic zones in places like Cambodia and Laos where anyone can do anything if they have the cash. Would be Randians tend to stay in the US though because America provides certain freedoms and protections that strong mercantile city states and free wheeling gangster zones lack. Plus it's cool. Besides Libertarians have the same problem Communists do no one wants to vote for them so despite wanting no state they end up with one to control the enlightened peasants.
Yeah, I slept through 2020 and 2021, too. The ability of the public to be absolutely hysterical and jump straight into a war (foreign or domestic, 2020 being the latter re: BLM) a lot of stuff is and remains very real; I have that in my own country right now, that's where my examples are pulled from.
Public hysteria and domestic disturbance is a world of difference from Verdun. There's no realistic path of mass hysteria leading to millions of Canadian youth being machine gunned in the mud by the Germans or any other enemy.
If it was that bad then, how much the worse now that half the electorate is under moral hazard conditions to pull the trigger? And as we see in Ukraine, the minute the fighting starts it is exclusively the women who [are permitted to and as such immediately] make a run for it,
Serious question would you support a 50 50 gender ratio quota in combat arms to get rid of that moral hazard? Your not the first person I've seen make this argument but it always feels a little just so to me. Demanding Women's political participation be curtailed because they don't have "skin in the game" is usually done by people who don't want women in combat arms either so it's neat little trick. Women don't belong in combat arms therefore they have no right to participate in the political process because of the "moral hazard" If the moral hazard is the issue then getting more women into combat arms seems to solve it in a much easier and equitable way. But to be frank from your posts I take it you are Canadian? I find the idea that Canadian men will be subjected to a mass draft to die in a war started by women who don't understand the cost to be totally fanciful. Ukraine isn't a modern feminist Western country so I don't really think the example applies, and remember American feminists were fighting to get women into combat arms during the GWOT.
How did you think the men got the idea to go to Verdun in the first place? The female of the species is deadlier precisely because it orders you to death on its behalf, and so you have the basic principal-agent problem.
All the people actually giving orders at Verdun were men. All the political leaders and electorates in WWI were entirely male. And the actual draft was enforced by male police and security forces and the war was not driven by concerns of protecting women and children but by the male leaderships geopolitical concerns. Blaming women for "ordering" based on a social shaming campaign when men were the ones giving all the actual orders seems entirely backwards.
The biological imperative for men is to go to war and die; the biological imperative for women is to be worth it. If we want to disarm that, and I think it is a net good to disarm it, both sides need to stand down.
Haven't they? Every major Western country has an all volunteer military that allows women in combat roles. No one is forcing you to go die for anything. And frankly the existential risk to most westerners is functionally zero there is very little chance of Belgium or Ireland finding themselves in some kind of existential war.

Virtually no one has a problem drawing that line. The fact that Europe hasn't seen that kind of scope creep should show that these things are not inevitable the intensely liberal abortion laws in America are a function of abortion being under threat and American polarization leading to radicalization. In the countries where abortion is firmly secured with little opposition we don't see that. And most people view a fetus and a baby as different so they don't need to decouple anything
Also Lindsay Clancy isn't actually an example of people supporting infanticide her supporters aren't saying it's ok she killed her kids, they are saying she should be institutionalized or her husband did it.
