Killing the 10th man actually erased the guilt of having mutinied/retreated, without having to mess around assigning individual responsibility. Pretty clever system for a society that's trying to field large armies without a professional military, which is why it was only a thing during the Republic expansion

Re. What dean said, I think this is probably a pretty good use of cash (which Dems essentially have infinite amounts of because most of the spending goes right back to their allies).
They need to get over both "kamela who?" and people's vague memories of not liking her. They need people to see her sitting down behind a desk girlboss presidenting just like all the lady presidents on Netflix.
There's already a huuuge propaganda campaign for "wise vaguely-brown lib woman politician with superpowers" that Dems didn't even have to pay for, so they just need to tap into that.
Let Hollywood make all the impossible promises about her competence so the campaign doesn't have to.

That was my thought too: it's a legitimation drive to establish her in the general public mind ahead of attacks, blunders, etc.
Isn't rpgcodex the based equivalent? I don't do games or gaming forums, but didn't they pin an announcement after the Chris Avelorn(?) accusations expressing their shock and disappointment that he wasn't gay?
I remember seeing the screenshot, and that sort of humor is always a good sign.

I just had the first YouTube ad get through ublock, and of course it was a kamela Harris donation beg on a completely non-politics-related video.
Other people are reporting this happening even on gun videos and other conservative content. Has anyone here noticed it?
It seems like not only are they spending huge amounts of money on an ad blitz to legitimize her, google is helping by burning blocker exploits.
Yep, I said last week they were going to go into overdrive, and even I was surprised.
Everyone says this is a distributed propaganda system with no central direction, but I think that's obviously wrong and a handful of highly placed people may as well have a phone app with "media machine turn on" buttons.
Seems insane to think of this as a conspiracy theory when the media spent all last week talking about how big donors had organized to cut off biden's funding. Not to mention the Time "how we did it" piece on 2020.
You are resisting the government with handguns. because as per that anarcho-tyranny post I made, most of the agents of the government you'll come into conflict with are crackhead freaks trying to carjack you after being released without bail for carjacking you last week.
(Or the guy that stabbed you on the MTA bus is released to do it again, for today's specific example)

Yeah, I saw the difference between the store cards and the chase visa, but my confusion was with the prime vs non-prime chase card. The only advertised difference is the 5% vs 3% cash back, but that's entirely a function of the prime membership rather than the card itself.
Was very confused why they sent me a new (prime) card in the mail two weeks after my prime trial expired.

5 hours later and there still isn't any announcement on Whitehouse.gov or joebiden.com, only twitter. All his staff are saying they found out from Twitter too. (Edit: an announcement popped up on Biden dot com about an hour after that)
I really am starting to wonder if Joe knows he's dropped out yet.
It would be interesting to go back and see when the paperwork for "Harris for president" was filed.

Huh, is that only the prime visa, or their regular one? I've been really confused ever since they sent me an updated "prime" card just because I did the 1-month prime trial.
Even knowing it's free money I never took advantage of 0% cards until recently, but it's amazing. I have $5k tools that paid for themselves long before I had to pay for them.
