Go over Vivaldi:GPU with a fine tooth comb to see what went wrong. Triple check everything's running on the right GPU...
And then it turns out YouTube just stopped honoring my "please don't use av1" setting without telling me. Bitch you could just ask my browser if I have hardware support for your fancy codec.
God why is everything so janky. I need a browser extension to use the same YouTube account on PC and phone, because there's no setting for "please only use av1 on devices that support it, and no the 6 year old laptop can't even though the phone can"
Cynically YouTube doesn't give a shit, because forcing av1 saves them bandwidth and most consumers won't make the connection between their noisy computer fan and playing YouTube videos.
You can always tell when someone has had their preferences (or identity) overwritten by porn rather than irl experience, so that's a good place to start for any sort of "valid/invalid" distinction.
Personally I think racial preferences are just a healthy expression of racism.
The important thing is to never get stuck defending your preferences on the terms of some activist who's accusing you of internalized queerphobic racism for liking hot chicks. Laugh at them, ban them, hit them with a brick, whatever, just do not engage on their terms, ever. I just use a win10 desktop and Linux (mint xfce) laptop as a "home server." Both 8th gen Intel, which is still adequate for everything, and will be until they finally come up with a better video codec than vp9.
Modern Linux is so simple a non tech person wouldn't even notice the change as long as you use the default windows background. The browser is identical, and that's all that matters 99% of the time.
Some of my friends are using Linux on their family desktops, like my dad on his 6th gen Intel. He can even watch YouTube properly because Linux actually added limited vp9 decoding support for quick sync on skylake, although that's something I had to get working for him.
I've had random wifi connectivity drops on my android phone lately. Seems like something to with ip leases expiring: it will lose Internet connectivity on the 5ghz network, but switch over to the 2.4 network within a few seconds. I should try disabling DHCP and hard coding fucking everything
Win10 PC just developed a habit of graphics crashing (window frozen, mouse still moves, hard reset needed) when dragging Firefox between monitors. Jank just seems inevitable unless you buy apple and use them exactly as prescribed.
(Re. Crashing: main monitor plugged into GPU, side ones into igpu, browsers set to run on igpu for hardware accel reasons. And it only happens with Firefox: not brave, not Vivaldi, or edge, or the five year old version of portable chromium I use for running h-(tml)games. Error seemed to start when setting the GPU to power-saving mode. There are a lot of potential factors, fuck)
I once found out I'd lived in the same house as a motter thanks to his description of the insane landlord. It's more likely than you think with how filtered we are by irl interests and professions.

Again, your average young normie conservative already gets screwed by the existing insurance system. They had to pass a mandate to make us buy it, because otherwise we wouldn't sign up to pay for everyone else's expensive prep, hormones, sex change operations, SSRIs, reiki energy healing sessions, etc.. That was literally in the justifications for the bill:
Young and healthy individuals are needed to balance out higher risk individuals who are likely to become ill and who will be more costly... In essence what the individual mandate effects by converting the uninsured into healthy insurance policy holders is financing the health care of the sick by those who are healthy, what one author calls "health redistribution"
You don't think this is going to get much worse when a public option run by Equity Consultants takes over? I think that's a severe lack of vision.
Opaque metrics filtered through a layer of "equity pricing" for who pays what, justified through procedural manipulation of cost benefit studies. Literally just the usual "make gun and car owners pay for the costs of their abhorrent lifestyles" applied to literally everything.

But I don't get to hear anything about the actual institution aside from the difficulty of getting/sharing a local priest.
I did say "when they get their public option", which will not be administered by people trying to make a profit. And of course even if it is some public-private abomination like the university system, we've already seen how willing they are to leave consumer money on the table in exchange for other benefits.

In theory you're not backing all the way down the entropy graph to create a synthetic fossil fuel, you only want to go as far as some compound where carbon can exist as a solid. But yeah, in practical terms with realistic losses it's obviously not energy positive to burn gasoline to run a generator that pulls the carbon back out of the air.
One potential use is if they could do it at very low capital cost (but high energy cost) would be sucking up all the waste electricity from solar and wind. You could site it anywhere, so putting them at key interchanges where you can exploit transmission bottlenecks for cheap electricity would make them free to run much of the time.
Of course, the actual economic benefit of reducing atmospheric carbon is anywhere between "low" and "negative." And ocean fertilization would do the same thing for free. But when has that ever stopped a subsidy program.
Long term support version of 10 has many years left, right? And you can use a certain GitHub program to give yourself the industry pro version of that. I'm doing a reinstall this week, will do that myself
