Total Mind Space Full of Incomprehensibly Alien Minds comes from Lovecraft, whom EY mentions frequently.

This was on the basis of empirical AI research contradicting Yud's original claims that the first AGI would be truly alien, drawn nigh at random from the vast space of All Possible Minds.
That never made sense, apriori. You can't transcend your biases and limitations enough to do something truly random.

The U.K. is unironically a clown show about it, coming after Kitchen Knives now. <30 years from when they banned handguns for civilians and they're now claiming can't be trusted with a fucking bread knife.
Despite what you have been reading there is no systematic ban on ordinary domestic knives in the UK. There is a ban on swords and machetes -- as there is in many countries -- and you can be have a knife confiscated if you are carrying it outside your home under suspicious circumstances -- as you can in many countries and most US states.

It seems unlikely that Carlson was fired because of the Dominion lawsuit; he was worth more to the network over a few years than the entire settlement
Looking at it the other way round, Fox can recoup the enormous cost of the settlement in only a few years by firing Carlson.

Yes, that was a very incomplete argument for.AI.danger. Its not clear whether all, some or no AIs are consistent; its alao not clear why utilitarianism is dangerous.

Treating a spectrum as a binary is a problem. But it's also a problem to treat a minimal amount of something as an acceptable amount. ("All Americans can afford aspirin , so all American have access to healthcare"). Who doesn't even have empathy for people just like them?
