Here's the Bluesky take on that video:
They were having a calm exchange seconds before he murdered Renee Good, and she was barely moving and clearly avoiding him.
Video evidence doesn't matter one lick because the kind of people getting riled up about this kind of thing want to get riled up. (Please generalize this instead of treating it as a phenomenon specific to Bluesky.)
I'm reminded of a study conducted by a large social media company (the presenter couldn't disclose the company's name but called them "Tip Top" with an exaggerated wink) where they randomized some users' feeds for a day. A notable finding was that when "toxic" users were presented with fewer toxic posts, the conditional probability of engaging with each toxic post went up, and the overall reduction of engagement with toxic posts barely declined. Their conclusion was that the algorithm isn't inducing the toxicity; these users are just toxic to start with and the algorithm is correctly identifying the kind of content they want to see.
No but there is a Tyrannosaurus in the neighbor's yard.
Yes, I remember seeing the videos the day of. People commented that the video evidence must be divine intervention in Rittenhouse's favor it was so clear-cut.
The first highly-upvoted video on Reddit had a title which described the rioters as trying to "lynch" Rittenhouse, iirc.
If the engine isn't exported and is instead bought by Boeing the value of the engine is not explicitly counted in GDP
But to address @RandomRanger's concern, the engine is implicitly counted in GDP. It's part of the value of the plane. That's also why an imported engine is subtracted from GDP - we want to only count the parts of the plane which were produced domestically.
ChatGPT/generative AI is now incredibly useful to my life. Google got slopified before ChatGPT 3.5 was released, I was already appending "Reddit" onto every search. I had a demand for not-shit search and now ChatGPT provides that to me
I do wonder whether LLMs are better than how search used to be. My feeling is no. But I'm well aware of how nostalgia can blind.

Incidentally, federal regulation has also made trailer homes more expensive, uglier, and less safe. https://www.minneapolisfed.org/article/2025/learning-from-the-first-and-only-manufactured-housing-boom
