Genuine question, did he? Did he not get a huge Rogan boost?
I can't stand interviewers who just badger guests trying to get them to say/not say certain things
I more or less agree, but it's one thing to not antagonize your guest, or try to catch them off-guard, and another to add basically nothing and just have them talk their book. I think a great point of comparison is his interview with The Zuck vs the one from Dwarkesh Patel. While they're a bit apart in time, so there were some developments between them, they're both generally very friendly, but Dwarkesh just gets so much more out of Zuck by actually engaging him on the subjects he's talking about.
Is there data on the average age of marriage for these racial configurations?
Without going into the HBD of it all, Uruguay is not a good point of comparison because it's basically the Luxembourg of South America.
What's the point of that subreddit?
Dramatards hit it big with the abortion bounty hunters thing, and have been chasing that high ever since.
Maybe, but if you haven't done it by now, what would change to motivate you in that direction?
The reason "imagine if the situations were reversed" is lame is that it's impotent, not that it's wrong.
There was a tweet praising her translation due to a combination of contemporariness and culture war reasons. This triggered replies unfavorably comparing passages of said translation with the same bits from others.
I've only seen one of said comparisons, and, to be honest, it seemed pretty damning, but I'd rather not form my opinion from a single, probably-not-well-intentioned tweet.
Yeah! I meet them all the time.
I guess I've been lucky, so far!
I would suggest the other poster is implicitly acknowledging that sometimes what their dog likes is superior to any harm caused to a human.
If you're referring to @sulla, I believe you're being hyperbolic. What I intepret them saying is that they're willing to entertain the idea that there can be a tradeoff between human and dog welfare, and that their dog would be count particularly highly.
Honestly, I agree with these premises, I would (for example) save most humans over my dog if presented with such a choice, but I often put their well-being over the annoyance of others (not taking them into the grocery store, though, you can just leave them tied outside).
I find the mindset of dog lovers to be “dogs are better than people.” They freely make statements like that
Are any of these people not redditors or redditor-adjacent?
Congratulations!
I'm more annoyed by people that are histrionically frightened of dogs
Obviously "histrionically" is doing a lot of work here, but I've come to realize that people's experiences with dogs are very different. I have a friend whose phobia of dogs seemed strange to me, but she's from a more rural background, and over there dogs can form packs that are actually quite vicious, my hypoallergenic, and honestly kinda' lazy, mini-schnauzers are not representative of what dogs can be.
Are dog people convinced that all humans love dogs (except for evil humans) and therefore there ought not be a problem?
Basically this.
Also, dogs are generally very demanding, so single people living in apartments (who probably shouldn't have dogs) take them anywhere they're allowed to, so as to not leave them alone at home.
The struggle between not wanting to miss out on the rally, but not wanting to be left holding the bag.
Sadly, the airline business is very volatile, so it's hard to know if the policy worked or not. Though it's funny that it was implemented by Samoa Air, given the mass propensities of Samoans.
Depending on whether you think they are Europeans or not, you have a non-counterfactual point of comparison: Spain has had tons of immigration from Latin America, and while there has obviously been some backlash, it doesn't seem to be as strong as in the rest of Europe.
Harsh, but fair.
Honestly, if you meet the pre-requisites, get the eye surgery regardless. It'll probably be a QoL improvement across the board.
I've been twice, with extended family (as a teen). I think they get too much of a bad rap. It's an ok hotel with good-ish amenities that takes you to a couple of cities. It's not the best value you can get for a comfortable vacation, and definitely not for tourism, but if you want something that straddles the line, you can do worse.
I hear bad things about "cruise people", but I think that's an "Americans have infinity money" thing.
I mean, all the ingredients and cooking seems perfectly fine here.
As a fellow food enjoyer, the obvious problem seems to be portion size. You're going to eat everything because it's delicious, so just make less of it.
"Latinaos" I have never seen in my life.
"Latines", (and "e" as gender neutral in general) is indeed the form south american leftists actually use. It seemed ascendant for a while, but luckily there has been a pretty big pendulum swing, so I'd say we have at least another decade until it takes over normal life.
Wait, did the dresden codak guy (with apologies to the 2 trans motte readers) troon out? Jesus christ, talk about a fall from grace.
While one has to be clear-headed as to what life insurance actually is, I think for most people, it makes much more sense to get term life insurance: it's a hedge to provide for your loved ones in case of a tragedy and, ideally, by the time time you're old, your death won't represent a significant economic burden on your family. Whole-life is this protection, with some sort of inheritance scheme piled on top... unless you want to screw over one or more of your descendants, it doesn't make much sense to not just save the extra premiums that you'll be paying.
This, of course, assumes similar pricing practices and commission schemes, either product can be, in practice, a worse deal depending on market conditions.
I thought this as well, but if you give statehood to each province, wouldn't you end up in a similar situation as you already are? That is, lots low density red states and a few high population blue states, you might still have an electoral college advantage.
