You know I just had a thought bubble. Perhaps the reason societies used to seem far more stable in the past is because anyone who acted outside the system or had such tendencies used to die out, but in modern times for the first time we are keeping all personality types alive and functional in a society.
So we have extreme traditionalists and futurists existing within the same system to extremes that wouldn't have been possible in the past.

Why not? I mean the problem is obviously having ourselves a permanently active immune system with nothing to do so it keeps lowering its standards for what is a threat until it gets something. At least that's my interpretation. Maybe not a hookworm, but probably give it something to work with. Maybe they should have a disease vaccine, but it just gives you mild variants of diseases with an immune response in humans in general. Then you go home get two days of fever and voila, eat a peanut butter sandwich without choking to death and your face veins exploding.
Not a scientist, most of what i said is conjuncture based on limited understanding.

Disagree with your final point. America's greatest export of the past century has been it's culture. Name one country without pizza or superman. ( You may argue that Pizza isn't American and I would reply exactly, their cultural propagation is so extreme we even give the Americans claim of non-American western inventions. )
Agreed with everything you said in first para. Cheap birth control makes sense, but birth control is available to every single one of these countries yet they have different fertility rates so birth control isn't the only thing. I don't know how your statement about more global connectivity explains fertility decline. More peaceful world more people can leave their homes harder to find mates in a different geographical environment makes sense. However, any of your points that work are an additional reason for fertility decline but in no way state that feminist ideology is not a part of this population decline.

However in Israel there is an extreme poverty rate which would explain the high fertility rate. The rich israeli's aren't the ones reproducing a lot, its the majority poor ones.

The Night lords trilogy - set in the 40k universe it is a series written from the perspective of the bad guys. I think it is a good study in seeing how you end up rooting for the bad guy if you see the story from their perspective even though they are doing terrible things. Makes ya think about human nature and how strong in-group out-group bias honestly is.
Made me realize if you were born in a tribe of torturers or cannibals 9/10 you would end up okay with torture or cannibalism as another aspect of life.

I mean being a genius isn't even all that great. Being smart does not guarantee social success, nor does it guarantee the best income. If you wanted to be rich you would be a businessman. If you wanted to maximize reproductive success you would keep working out. I think one of the primary issues is that on the functional society level we fail to realize that there are multiple solutions and values beyond intelligence. I am pretty sure I can make myself sound smarter than almost everyone I know, but my reproductive success is the lowest nonetheless. You gotta accept the markers then look at where you are deficient and what to do about it.

Of yeah I am a firm believer of human biodiversity.
The thing is that society is fully functional only at the level where it has evened out its diversity levels. We managed to do that at the national level then it stopped. One day we achieve enough intermixing at the continental level and it no longer matters again.
The group expands either by further intermixing of larger and larger groups or in a competitive state some groups simply dying out over time.
Believing this leads you to a lot of inferences/conclusions that are very controversial to say out loud in polite society.
It's only controversial as long as people do not understand that working out will make anybody seem more attractive and attractive people have the highest reproductive success rate.

I would not be surprised if there was a noticeable minority that unironically like the main character in American Psycho. As I understand it the actor who plays the titular character had to go on camera to explain to the people that you aren't supposed to root for the main character. Add in the fact that the main character does reflect a form of masculinity that from his own point of view makes him a tough person, and one can see where the fans who like him genuinely come from.
I have met people in real life who would admit they thought the character of the main psycho was a horrible guy but also a chad.

Not really, I just wrote something I liked and it felt partly culture warry so I shared it on the culture war thread. Nothing deeper than that.
But even in western societies that bear equal responsibility for children, the total fertility rate tends to be below replacement. Which suggest again that it is not a solution, just something that slows down population decline to acceptable levels. So maybe yeah it is a solution.
