I mean they must have? The only way they'd know he paid cash was via security footage, or if he did the transaction 50% cash / 50% card so that the receipt info could be traced to him

and also midterms to worry about

He should be worried given how bad his approval rating is. Below both Biden and Trump1.

This is just an argument for never voting,

No it's not. Most politicians do want to win again,Trump is unique in that 1) he literally cannot and 2) his brand is about aggressively not giving a fuck (about you)

Thinking that Trump cares what (you) think is absolute tomfoolery and if anyone wants to attempt to defend that point I'd love to see them try

If so, why not pause all sources?

Because the donor class do not, and have never wanted this

Is that not what his voters want?

It's charming, funny, and slightly sad you think this is a consideration. He's on his last term in office, and you already voted for him. He does not care what you think, it is too late, you have 0 leverage over him.

This is the equivalent of a girl going "but I let Chad McPlayer fuck me on the first date! Why isn't he texting me anymore???" Girl... You gave it up for free, you have no power here.

"why are the people who perpetually go out of their way to shoot themselves in the foot, shooting themselves in the foot so much??? I voted for President 'i love shooting my foot to own the libs' so he could get shit done, not shoot off his own feet!"

Battlefield 6 baby! Free week right now.

It definitely released somewhat under-baked, but the infantry gameplay is PHENOMENAL (with some caveats). Engine is amazing. Vehicle gameplay is shit compared to BF5 (I skipped 2042) which is disappointing, but air vehicles are not very strong and look great when they explode, which is awesome as a good BF5 pilot = just leave the server the game is over. Plus the RPG is very fast and accurate, and RPG-ing helis is a herion-tier hit of dopamine.

Plus, the popularity of BF6 means a lot of... median Americans are playing. As a PC gamer, I missed most of the golden era of cod lobby shit talk, but I have genuinely heard a smoke alarm beep being picked up by someone's PS5 controller mic they hadn't muted.

I have never farmed noobs as hard as I have in this game, it feels like many of the opposing players have Hellen Keller tier awareness and coordination, you can (literally) run circles around them, my K/D has never been this high in a FPS and I'm not even tank-whoring (which I did a lot in BF5).

The median American cannot comprehend a silencer, you can just keep killing them as they walk around a corner into you, blissfully unaware that 3 team mates in front of them just died the same way.

Very much agree about democrat delusion re: crime and enforcement, but my autism does not allow me to let this go.

Because some American cities are more dangerous than Ukraine.

This is statistical torture, the numbers are screaming as they are twisted into this narrative. Also kind of a rhetorical one as when you say "Ukraine" people read "front line of the Russo-Ukrainian war" but I imagine whatever stat underlies this is the mortality rate in the country overall, most of which is not a warzone. On the other side, if you are not a poor American involved in, or adjacent to, the drug trade, I imagine your odds of being shot in Chicago et al. are extremely, extremely low.

Also from the politics angle, the way and "vibe" in which these troops were deployed was intentionally maximally inflammatory, so I am not surprised that in a country with the most guns, a crazy person was baited into doing something dumb.

Well, why are they deployed? Why is there a ton of tension and pressure around their deployment the a crazy ideologue can hook into?

the personal computing revolution has been pretty bad for productivity

Please explain

I would argue that the development of the personal computer and the internet especially, rather than more analog tech like that shown in the Fallout Universe was a very real cultural path.

Very curious to hear your take on this, I've never thought about it

we had one a while ago about 'what does it mean that God allows bad things to happen' where I earned a decent number of downvotes and pushback for giving what I see as the Christian answer.

Damn I might try and dig this up, sounds funny

Yes, it does come off as a bit of a Christian hugbox at times.

Somewhat true

Many posters here, yourself included (yourself especially?), take ample opportunity to mention that they are Christian, and often use the forum to discuss Christian topics and Christian theology

Definitely true

I hope you can appreciate that an atheist watching a thread devolve into bible study would be miffed.

Wait why? I just immediately close these threads because I have no interest in them, just like I close every thread I have no interest in. Why does this bother you? I'm happy they have their hugbox and I don't interact with it.

Now the pre-marital sex-ed discussions, those are fun to wade into

How is failing to confirm someone such that they have the legal authority to prosecute people when you control ALL THREE branches of government not your fault?

How is everyone in the DA's office deciding they would rather literally get fired than sign off on it the fault of "Trump's enemies"? Do you think the entire DA office is staffed with Democrat sleeper agents?

From other comments in this thread:

In this case, Siebert was the lawfully appointed U.S. Attorney for Virginia. But he wouldn’t sign the indictment. Bondi fired and replaced him with Halligan, who did. Since that skipped the confirmation process, though, it ran into the same problem which got Smith.

Typically, a line prosecutor would be in charge of the case and sign the indictment, but these indictments were so incompetently handled and obviously politically motivated that nobody else in the office was willing to sign them. Hell, her predecessor got fired for refusing to sign. So the only person who signed the indictment had as much authority to do so as you or I do, so they aren't valid.

"Wahhh it's the Dems fault"

Shoot and scoot

I'm not an expert, but it sounds like this isn't meta anymore in this war

  1. counter battery radar seems to not be as strong/precise as "you have 2 minutes after you shoot before the place you shot from explodes". This could be a "lol Soviets" issue, or maybe a limitation of the systems in practicality. I also wonder if emitting as a counter battery radar is dangerous. So there isn't profound pressure to move after firing.

  2. scooting is really really dangerous. The prevalence of ISR drones means ripping down a road is very dangerous. They might not find you if you pop out, fire, and pop back into your hide sight. It's much more likely they'll find you on one of the handful of roads in the region, which they're likely watching regardless. Plus your hide site can be hardened against drones.

"why are the people who perpetually go out of their way to step on rakes, stepping on all these rakes??? I voted for President 'i love stepping on rakes to own the libs' so he could get shit done, not step on rakes!"

Starsector, one of the best games I've ever played

Mount and Blade but in space + with an incredibly tight combat loop

Yes earlier today but not 10 seconds ago

The problem with doing this is that then more housing is built and the Venn diagram of "reliably votes in municipal elections" and "actually wants more housing to be built" is two unconnected circles.

I'm thinking of my late grandmother — the one who was a "special ed" teacher because the crippled and cognitively-impaired kids were easier for her to bully.

... Based?

I second this, but depends on the audience (and your rizz)

I found the "ring up and sass the villains" part broke the illusion for me just a couple of minutes into the movie

I genuinely debated leaving the theater because I realized the movie was a lost cause, but that would have bummed out my dad.

View of Hamilton by the Canadian artist Robert R. Whale.

Very wise and true!

Star Wars wasn't Rian Johnson's to destroy

Let's be so for real here though, the prequels were mid and only redeemed themselves way later on.

The Force Awakens was SO BAD. TLJ is probably worse, but TFA was actually so bland and pure slop. Rise was also terrible, and it would have been just as bad if TLJ had been better. So many unforced errors that Rian didn't cause.

because what else can you even do?

Obviously nostalgia is providing some fuel here, but there's actually so much you can do. Star Wars shines because the universe, while logically inconsistent (I'd take over so fast with a Dyson swarm that makes missiles it's not even funny), is such a VIBE

All the best Star Wars content is the side stories. It's a clone raid on a McGuffin factory. It's the story of a bounty hunter getting caught up in something big. It's a tale of exploration in the Old Republic. Basically take any plot that would work in a Western, and give everyone blasters instead.

The graphic novels went so hard.
