The FACE Act was nominally supposed to be that universal law despite the name, but as far as I'm aware no one has ever been convicted under that law for disrupting religious worship, it has only ever successfully been used against the pro-life movement.

The FB pixel localhost sidechannel exfiltration got caught within a year or so, but the researchers that found it realized that Yandex had been using a similar technique for 7 years without getting caught.

I watched ~10 minutes from the middle of the first video and this looks super fake. There's no way a small/fast model could seamlessly navigate a 3d space using wasd+mouse (which is extremely complicated compared to the controls available to a self driving car), and then it goes and does things like jumping over a wall that was visually obstructed without pausing for a second. It also switches between using shift and right click to dash, which makes absolutely no sense for an agent to do.

The term "pogchamp" is culture war-loaded itself but not in a way that seems relevant here.

It doesn't really address your specific concerns, but I prefer lazygit over pretty much any other way of interacting with git. A coworker keeps pushing me to switch to jujutsu but I'm too old to switch vcs conventions.

Not sure you realize how late sunrises are in the western edge of the Eastern time zone. It would be ~9AM in nearly all of Michigan, nearly all of Indiana, large parts of Ohio/Kentucky and western PA (Pittsburgh would get to 8:40 at worst). Even Atlanta would be after 8:30 for a few weeks in December.

Maybe he's referring to the many proposals for permanent DST (which would have winter sunrises around 9AM in a lot of America).

This is possibly worth its own top level post at some point but AdGuard is currently fighting what looks like state actor attempts to censor archive.is (it's not clear which state if any is actually responsible, but they at least claim to represent French regulators). AdGuard responded pretty well in this case but the general method of spamming CSAM reports to censorship-friendly regulators scales much better than most private internet infrastructure middlemen can handle.

Have you tried setting your phone display to grayscale (either in the morning only or even all day)? I've been doing that for a few weeks and anecdotally it helps prevent absent minded screen checking.

It's pretty easy to lock yourself out of half the side content in Act 2, which is where and why I quit my first playthrough of the game. The main things to know are that you should probably go around talking to everyone in that zone before picking optional fights and that the Tiefling refugees you already met in Act 1 are the main set of recurrent quest relevant NPCs (there's an achievement for having every single one of them survive the whole game but you don't need to go that far).

As someone that has played them all (other than 1 and 2, which were made obsolete by their remakes), 3H is probably the Fire Emblem I'd be least likely to every try to play again, and I only finished 2 routes. The guiding principle of modern FE is that every single playable character is potentially the self-insert's husband/wife, and it severely handicaps what they can do in both story and gameplay. The majority of the cast were prevented from having any meaningful role in the second half of the plot, and the ability to always recruit the best characters from each house couldn't have helped the balance design. 3H tried really hard to get the Persona audience when the SMT spinoff they should have emulated was Devil Survivor, where playable characters will happily tell you to fuck off if you choose a route they wouldn't agree with.

I haven't regularly checked this site in months but my impression as a lurker was that every Turok toppost was some variant of "I found this comment somewhere on the internet: the person who made it is a moron and if you would argue otherwise in the replies you prove that you are less smart than me." Apparently when he was told that unsourced twitter posts from anonymous users were not the kind of thing you make a top level post about, he took the wrong lesson and started doing it with comments from this forum.

The rdrama 'ops' campaigns did not only target the likes of LOTT, they went after a decent variety of news outlets and were just cagey and evasive enough when their sources were questioned that most of the targets figured out something was up. Those people are information terrorists, and much like other terrorists that came before them, they had to learn that the best use of their effort is go after soft and easy civilian targets.

I was hoping it was a test of some "the nueralink in me greets the nueralink in you" communication protocol, but skimming the latest blog post I think it's just controlling a tablet/pc using the nueralink as a bluetooth(?) device

I think LLM output is sometimes useful but should never be put directly in posts on this site, it has to be linked either from the platform itself when possible or dumped on pastebin etc. As far as topics of discussion go, any of 'LLM says X'/'LLM won't say Y'/'I asked an LLM to summarize Z' are not meaningful events to discuss and should never be top level threads or even the majority substance of a reply.
