I'll post a longer reply later: but the unhealthiness is a feature, not a bug. The point is to endure great suffering for no good reason and, if you survive, know for the rest of your life that you are a conscientious and determined individual. Lazy, weak willed chumps do not survive the Hock.

Huh.

Sooo, are you willing to entertain the idea that seeing unhealthiness "as a feature" is not what you should be doing? You are literally living the meme of "men would rather [blank] than go to therapy." In this case, I guess the blank is "die."

But the "therapy" also doesn't have to be therapy. I like what /u/hydroacetylene said, which is just go take some dancing classes and ask women to dance. I get the distinct sense doing that would be harder for you anyway. Training alone to climb a mountain (???) is probably the easier option for you, an introvert.

I've long been subjected to "inclusive" media that barely seems to be about being inclusive, and instead seems to be about promoting hatred of white people and all their works. So I want all of it gone from my household.

Is this really present in Baldur's Gate 3? Two of the most prominent party characters, Gale and Astarion, are white men (Astarion is, in fairness, a half-elf). Halsin is a white guy (another elf, though). Then there's Minsc and Volo, both white male humans.

I guess Wyll, the one black guy, is arguably the most "moral" character in the party.

The three main "bad guys" are Ketheric Thorm (white male elf), Gortash (white male human), and Orin (uh, I guess she's a white woman? She's visually an eldritch abomination). Ketheric, especially, is a pretty tragic character, though, and not portrayed as generically evil. Minor bad guys include Cazador, an Asian human vampire, and the Mother Superior, a female drow.

All of that to say, I feel like BG3 is definitely trying to be "diverse," and it's certainly very, very gay... but I don't get that it's "anti-white guys."

In fact, it seems like a really good example of "inclusive media" that isn't trying to promote "hatred of white people and their works." Maybe you could start trying to pick it apart, but then I think that would be pretty similar to the "woke" people who try to do that to other innocuous media.

The ability to discern between reality and fiction is important and people don't come to worldviews solely from statistics.

Yeah, it matters.

But this isn't, "I gave birth to a Bat Boy."

It's just some random person alleging they got more matches on a dating website because they have a nice job title. I've never used Hinge. I'm not a venture capitalist. It seems perfectly reasonable to me this guy might have significantly more matches than he had before if he's living in a bigger city and using a more appealing job title.

It's like if someone posted, "I used to be ugly and scrawny. Then I hit the gym and got swole, and now all my platonic women friends suddenly want to date me," and we were asked to decide if it was real or not. Why couldn't that be real? It might not be. It could be. It's not a science fiction story.

Again, I realize this must seem weird and cultish to any normal people reading this.

That is correct.

I really liked your reply to Scott's post about trans identities from way back when. I keep the link handy for the imaginary future conflicts I won't have with people over gender.

But, I do think you always write like you're in the middle of a nervous breakdown. I find myself mentally doing that side-eye puppet meme look whenever I read something you write.

For your own mental health just go enjoy a frozen marg and watch the Great British Bake Off on Netflix (or whatever floats your boat) a couple of times a week.
