It obviously doesn't help that Asians are more neotenic in general, giving Asian women a leg up in terms of sexually selective traits while simultaneously giving Asian men a large disadvantage.
I think this factor is much more important:
I myself, when visiting family, often go through the "You got fat,"
Dating modern American men must be like shooting fish in a barrel for any healthy young adult woman given the competition.
But maybe that's my bias showing, and the average white American man actually wants a strongly-opinionated, plus-size, nose-pierced and skin-scribbled, childfree, yoga pants-wearing woman.
Is there any research on that?
There are just not hordes of minority men prowling the streets kidnapping children.
Perhaps not as true for many Western countries. UK comes to mind.
Strangely, modern progressive/feminist norms of behaviors have adapted to that situation, in a parallel way that the American gun control advocates have managed to navigate the nuances of gun crime.
American media loves talking about mass shooting, to blame on young white men, and close its eyes to uh, 'gang-related gun crime?'.
British media will address the obvious street or school sexual harassment problem by using white actors as stand-in for the perpetrators.
I wouldn't blame imported diversity on that one.
Immigrants are more likely to have different generations living under one roof and to be more cavalier in their approach to rules and laws.
Not the kind to call the police on other people for some imaginary child abuse.
There is a kind of anarcho-tyranny inherent in the bureaucratic government of developed societies.
Progressive law-people will somehow release extremely violent offenders under some flimsy ideological excuses, but then excessively punish normal people through the process. For example taking away children while the family is getting investigated, without any real chance of a trial.
That process is not in itself punitive for the people who are actually bad parents.
I've heard that some people actually abuse foster care, by regularly coming to get their kids back once in a while just often enough to retain parental rights and whatever benefits are associated with the kids, and dropping them off again when they want to go on a bender.
The primary culprit for the dissolution of the American family is children moving away from their parents for better career prospects, and as in the story, a woman feeling compelled to go on a business trip to keep her job.
Perhaps the underlying culprit is the specter of the lack of freedom of association in urban areas, which makes young people anxious to make enough money to afford a 'safe' housing location, but that doesn't seem that strong of an explanation to me.
Perhaps the 'good career anxiety' is also the cause of the primary issue plaguing parents in the 'safe' housing locations (suburbs): the Karen, mandated or voluntary reporter.
The men who would become fathers were driven toward the money-making careers and away from the luxury, culture-making ones and we end up with publishing, teaching, journalism, public communications, marketing... dominated by women or men who think just the same.
Perhaps nerd culture is another aspect of this as well. The transgressive, teenage-like attitude of nerd culture 'you wouldn't download a car' makes it really hard to consolidate culture for creative men.
If the nerds had somehow managed to strong-arm the government as well as the public school unions, the APA, the AMA, Hollywood, etc, and somehow made piracy impossible, or prevented foreign imports, perhaps American culture would be much different.
For example, public education could be infinitely cheaper if we had a few local child-minders and a couple of teachers in a giant Zoom meeting across the entire country.
Imo the only way to solve the current birthrate crisis that some have started to recognize as a problem would be to completely dismantle the child protective services' apparatus.
Who even cares about that, objectively speaking?
Left-wingers clearly don't care about children's well-being when they support abortion.
They also do not in general care about child abuse, or they would not demand the mass importation of parents from countries where the standards of child safety are significantly relaxed.
I imagine a lot of right-wingers have started to understand how the government can use them to attack their family if they have alternative stances on healthcare practices or schooling.
Smashing Counter Strike and Warcraft 3 together would never have been done before this because it's really difficult.
Actually there was a fun Warcraft mode on some cs servers 15+ years ago. Leveling up certain characters/races to gain cheesy/annoying skills such as becoming gradually more transparent, do crazy damage with a grenade, drain life, get extra life, blow up your corpse, or hold items to resurrect...
It's a Christian website after all.
Without Christianity as the source of Western civilization, it's hard to see anybody else coming up with rationalism, truth-seeking, etc.
This kind of topic would be more at home on a Japanese website, where child-abuse enthusiasts might be a peculiar but relatively esteemed community.
I actually found a way to connect them.
Like Lindsay, Jane Doe was enthusiastically consenting to sex until she found out later on from her girlfriends that she had been harming her soul and body.
Lindsay was enthusiastically shopping around medical professionals for the best drugs until she found out later on that she had been undergoing psychosis when the police started accusing her of murder.
It'd be a brilliant move for the Trump admin to shut down all coeducational universities under the guise of investigating all sexual crimes committed up to this day.
Perhaps prevent any new Pell grants to these universities until they can prove that no rape is happening at any time.
It's not like in-person universities are needed at this time, students can just google/AI a curriculum.
Now you gotta go and find out:
- her stance on the Cornell story
- her stance on Lindsay
Author seems like somebody who used to be kinky and now has a lot of cats. Curious.
Is there any decent research on the effects of Toxoplasma Gondii on political beliefs?
I suppose there is a little bit of chicken-or-egg effect here, is it pre-existing personality traits that cause catladyism or are the personality traits from the stuff in the water turning the frogs gay?
Why are rationalists so focused on AI alignment when they haven't figured out woman alignment yet?
There are high-fertility communities around you.
If this is something you care about, just drive around town until you see some families that look like you in a minivan. Or go ask the local Honda or Toyota dealership. Or look up local homeschooling groups on Facebook.
Then make friends with these people and have your kids mingle with them and when you'd be thinking of sending them off to college or what not, start talking about it with these people.
It may be impossible, it may not work, but if you care about your kids' future and you spend time doing things like picking which school they should attend, it should be a no-brainer to take some steps to get them a spouse.
I think what matters to men is what status correlates with.
A woman raised in a trailer park with low-status parents is more likely to be either obese or on drugs, most likely covered in nasty tattoos, foul-mouthed, may have had to exchange sex for housing. All traits that a lot of men might not like.
On the other hand, a woman raised by absent professionals might have similarly damaging personality traits, but might be more effective at concealing them (having parents bail them out, paying for abortions, etc).
The ideal for a regular guy is a humble woman who was not raised in desperate circumstances but with strong conservative family values. Unfortunately these women usually get taken pretty quickly.
To all the commenters, given the general outlook on the dating market, do you intend to arrange marriages for your kids and if not, why not?
Maybe. Call it online stalking, I call it intentional dating.
In which case, don't get caught? There's a number of pitfalls, like verifying an actual adult female before offering a meeting.
I'm not saying you should launch a bot that automatically creepily propositions every female within a given radius.
But just consider that most people spend a fraction of their leisure time online, and that usually means that they are not available for a chance encounter out there.
The best dating advice for a teenage boy is to tell them to start selling drugs.
Unless you're religious, in that case you'd better start working on the arranged marriage.
There is no logical argument not to defect in the society-wide prisoner's dilemma if there is no recognized objective morality.
Do what you have to do and let the journalists decide if you were a good criminal or a bad cop.
I think you need to find smaller niches. Somebody already mentioned that every app is a dating app. Linkedin is a dating app. Pinterest is a dating app. Goodread is a dating app. Youtube is a dating app. Themotte is a dating app if you're into lawyers and AI-doomers.
Think of the most female-coded hobbies you can think of and find some kind of gathering point for them. There, find and befriend a somewhat representative example of a woman you wouldn't mind being married to. She's probably already taken, but this is to give you an idea of what you want.
That woman may have friends, cousins, sisters, built on roughly the same model, that are not taken. Another aspect of it which you are probably aware of, is that you have to completely hide your awareness of the woes of the dating market. Take some kind of imaginary bluepill.
Then once you find somebody good enough, go for it.
I have a hard time imagining that the worldview of all these men would be vastly different.
I'm sure they all understand the concept of a 'nagging wife' for example.
Even the dirtiest of communists seem to have part of their interest focused on the sexual side of the revolution. I would be really surprised if there was a single white male seriously into progressive activism that was not a sex pest.
oWo what's this? Do you have a permit to carry or are you just happy to see me?
Several years ago I was very concerned about sending my kids to a school with a majority of non-white kids, for practical concerns with violence.
Now there is an additional concern in the whitest of schools, which is the tendency of white educators to enforce progressive values.
Here's an interesting anecdote, the son of a Polish immigrant was getting in trouble in elementary school, because of his rowdy behavior. Compared to all the other kids of tech-wealthy Indian immigrants at that school.
Perhaps it's because being far-right in China or India is the only way to achieve bare-minimum outcomes of civilization, kind of the way European governments tightened during both world wars.
Those who managed to escape the bottom of the barrel wish to get what the Americans are getting in terms of social freedoms.
If they are able to be successful back home, and are well-adapted to the social expectations, there isn't really a reason to move. Servants are cheaper, the upper-crust are probably doing relatively well compared to other countries.
Without tight control of the population, these places literally start blowing up, trains derailing left and right, etc, then they just start eating each other by the thousands. Orgies and writing snarky articles about the government are not worth that risk.
In the US, the elites have been turning the dial on moral decay for decades for the fun of it, perhaps as a flex on other countries' elites as well, and yet, aside from a few hotspots of degeneracy and crime, there is a remarkable resilience of the economy, public safety...
My point was just that we generally at some point believe what others tell us.
Whether it's that a picture in a textbook depicts something that actually happened, or that a given natural phenomena is explained by what they are saying.
Photograph-based scams are pretty much as old as the camera, like the Cottingley fairies.
It is conceivable that miniatures of icey landscapes were used in photographs with clever angles and painted backgrounds to fake Antarctica. I don't have a reason to believe that's the case but it's possible.
I assume you are referring to transgenderism? That's really not what most adherents believe (speaking as someone who was firmly pro-trans, and who is still broadly sympathetic to it) - given that most of us are atheists.
People who use words such as 'wrong body' are clearly referring to some kind of dualist conception of the mind - body, analogous to souls.
because I've never seen an angel, seen photographs of an angel, or heard any other convincing evidence they aren't made-up.
I've never seen a woman who can lift heavy things yet feminists will have us believe they are equal to men. Moreover, there are many things that Science has revealed to us that were prior excluded from our understanding. I can't see or smell radiation myself.
Without a God, there is just people's subjective moral preferences - "sacrificing children" (i.e. killing them for no good reason) feels immoral to me, and to many others.
There's plenty of good reasons they come up with for these abortions.
And it might even be true that humans need a God to maintain a stable society long-term. But none of that has anything to do with whether God, angels, etc exist in the first place
Pure coincidence.
Also, nice try, but I see what you did there: the pro-Clancy defence is that she was mentally unwell so it wasn't her fault.
She was just being a girl. In her murder era. Going goblin mode on the kiddos. Being brave and independent. Performing self-care?
People who believe in abortion don't believe the fetus counts as human, so it's okay to kill it with full awareness of what you are doing.
Pure coincidence that these people would excuse a 'true human' having a little bit of an oopsie moment while taking one of these mental health days off. Like there's some kind of slippery slope when you grant certain people the right to kill whoever they deem inferior, and celebrate it.
Well that would require me to believe in satellites and photography (aren't these devices stealing your soul anyway?). It could be AI-generated for all I know.
This is not as odd as it sounds. There is a significant portion of the educated Western population who claims that God sometimes gets confused and puts a soul in the wrong body.
This is something they teach children in many parts of the West.
'Don't sacrifice children because an angel told you not to' is not that odd of a belief, by comparison, imo.
But that's from growing up in a civilization that was deeply imbued with Christian values. Somebody who grew up in a Mayan city might be fine with Clancy-style late-term abortion.
Those who deny the validity of scientific investigation (including supply and demand)
Well there's all kind of scientific investigation. Is scientific investigation the highest course of action no matter what? Should we be scientifically investigating something right now instead of having a conversation?
Those who don't bother to avoid ambiguity
There's a trade-off between avoiding ambiguity and time. Users of this website are obsessed with avoiding ambiguity but it makes every discussion longer to read / longer to respond to.
Even if those major topics are not known to Alfred, it is well-advised for him to assume that, if he bothers to learn more about Beatrice, then he eventually will come to learn her opinions on those major topics, and to dislike her.
The implication being that if you get to know somebody you will inevitably end up disliking them. While I don't think that is necessarily true, if you do believe that to be true, why do you want to speedrun that inevitability by throwing lists of questions at them?
You should enjoy not knowing them that well for as long as you can.
Also if you stopped constantly inquiring about various topics you would be less likely to form an opinion that would lead you to dislike somebody over it. ie touch grass
Mamdani's laced statement obviously means there is influence in some manner.
No, as I have already addressed in my lengthy previous response, there is only one factor offered in the 'laced' metaphor, and it's the IDF lacing.
Not Hollywood movies, not racist stereotypes, not cowboy trainers at the academy, not toxic masculinity... The only factor specified in the metaphor is the IDF.
Mamdani's statements are not evidence of him holding a conspiracy theory.
Why do you think Mamdani goes out of his way to single out the IDF when talking about police brutality in his city?
Even 'the boot on your neck' part of is is hyperbolic. The large majority of police interactions have no boot on a neck, and there is a second conspiracy theory here, held by paranoid schizophrenes, libertarians and other fringe people, which is that normal policing is some kind of tyrannical action.
Normal people who are not part of the extreme progressive tribe think that it is appropriate to put away some dangerous people, and to have government workers in charge of applying the necessary violence to that end.
Such language was last appropriate when Biden-era government people were shutting down businesses and shutting down the bank account of Canadian protesters over some grandma coughing in China.

You could like take your gun and attack a big vehicle and then have them divert course right into a big crowd of civilians or something. It'd be a national tragedy. At least.
