This weekly roundup thread is intended for all culture war posts. 'Culture war' is vaguely defined, but it basically means controversial issues that fall along set tribal lines. Arguments over culture war issues generate a lot of heat and little light, and few deeply entrenched people ever change their minds. This thread is for voicing opinions and analyzing the state of the discussion while trying to optimize for light over heat.
Optimistically, we think that engaging with people you disagree with is worth your time, and so is being nice! Pessimistically, there are many dynamics that can lead discussions on Culture War topics to become unproductive. There's a human tendency to divide along tribal lines, praising your ingroup and vilifying your outgroup - and if you think you find it easy to criticize your ingroup, then it may be that your outgroup is not who you think it is. Extremists with opposing positions can feed off each other, highlighting each other's worst points to justify their own angry rhetoric, which becomes in turn a new example of bad behavior for the other side to highlight.
We would like to avoid these negative dynamics. Accordingly, we ask that you do not use this thread for waging the Culture War. Examples of waging the Culture War:
-
Shaming.
-
Attempting to 'build consensus' or enforce ideological conformity.
-
Making sweeping generalizations to vilify a group you dislike.
-
Recruiting for a cause.
-
Posting links that could be summarized as 'Boo outgroup!' Basically, if your content is 'Can you believe what Those People did this week?' then you should either refrain from posting, or do some very patient work to contextualize and/or steel-man the relevant viewpoint.
In general, you should argue to understand, not to win. This thread is not territory to be claimed by one group or another; indeed, the aim is to have many different viewpoints represented here. Thus, we also ask that you follow some guidelines:
-
Speak plainly. Avoid sarcasm and mockery. When disagreeing with someone, state your objections explicitly.
-
Be as precise and charitable as you can. Don't paraphrase unflatteringly.
-
Don't imply that someone said something they did not say, even if you think it follows from what they said.
-
Write like everyone is reading and you want them to be included in the discussion.
On an ad hoc basis, the mods will try to compile a list of the best posts/comments from the previous week, posted in Quality Contribution threads and archived at /r/TheThread. You may nominate a comment for this list by clicking on 'report' at the bottom of the post and typing 'Actually a quality contribution' as the report reason.

Notes -
The hierarchical organization of the Catholic Church is not particularly relevant to your original criticism, which centered on the ideological mission of the Catholic church, which essentially entails grafting all the Gentiles of the world into the embrace of Yahweh as equals- there is neither Jew nor Greek, male nor female, brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death... And I completely agree with your interpretation of that mission. If the mode of organization of the Catholic Church were more similar to Judaism- a mode of organization which is by the way more deeply embedded in our economy, in our cultural institutions, in our lobbying groups than it is in a flag-bearing statelette run by a guy with a cool hat, that wouldn't undermine your criticism of the Catholic mission it would only make it even more nefarious. Edit: Of course ACB et al. are demonstrations of the principle of religious mission embedded in political and cultural institutions, expressing as hostility towards white people, so your analysis is basically acknowledging the phenomenon observed by those who attribute the influence of Jewish identity and ideology to the expression of anti-white cultural output in Hollywood and academia.
The notion that Judaism doesn't have a Pope and therefore a similar ideological mission cannot be attributed to it is blatantly false, it is simply a different mode of organization. There's the World Jewish Congress, the American Jewish Committee, B'nai B'rith International, the Anti Defamation League, the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, Chabad, of course the State of Israel- only to name a few out of thousands of such organizations that wield immense political and cultural power. Your implication that we can attribute the acts of Catholic Organizations to the Catholic Mission, but cannot attribute the acts of Jewish Organizations or ideologically-motivated Jewish people to the Jewish Mission simply because Judaism lacks a pope holds no water. The state of Israel has far more powerful political and cultural pull among global Jewry than the Vatican does among global Catholics, the prime reason there are "White Nationalist Catholics" is derived from the lack of loyalty to the Vatican and Catholic Mission itself among lay Catholics. There is far greater loyalty among Jews to Israel than there is among Catholics to the Vatican. Steven Spielberg transmitting a false propaganda film like Schindler's List to millions of Gentiles is no less of an act of ethnic aggression than the acts of the Catholic organizations you mentioned in your post. And of course hundreds of Jewish organizations are guilty of the exact behavior you lay at the feet of Catholic organizations with respect to mass immigration lawfare. They are two sides of the same coin.
Edit: One sad anecdote, a local Catholic Parish, in a long-standing lilly-White community, is getting a new Priest fresh off the boat from Uganda-- their new Spiritual Leader. The Catholic Mission is Lovecraftian horror, so you are not wrong but you are one-sided in your critical interpretation of how religion directly transmits ethnic warfare.
