Acrodding to a video from PolyMatter <America’s Self-Inflicted Doctor Shortage>, it seems like the issue comes from not enough funding to incentivise hospital residency program, seems like a regulation problem of introducing regulation that increase friction (residency before full licensure) without regulation to ease it (give funding to hospital to increase spots)

Okinawa

Have a look at the map, saying Okinawa is part of mainland Japan is like saying Hawaii is part of mainland US, perhaps some will say you are correct, but in this discussion I believe it is fair to say that Hawaii is not part of mainland US and Okinawa is not part of mainland Japan

I don't know what country has ever actually surrendered under bombardment without even a threat of ground invasion.

WW2 Japan surrendered with only threat of ground invasion (declaration of war from USSR) but no actual ground invasion happened on it's mainland, both atomic bombings had been cited as part of the reasons for surrender

Here, it seems that either real insurance companies are bad at judging risk (which would be bad for libertarian utopias), or that the USG is bad at juding risk.

It seems to me that there is intelligence difference between real insurance companies and USG, no doubt USG has a more accurate information on what Iran is capable of and, (tin foil hat on), with the difference in information USG will be able to do arbitrage here, might even turn a profit!! (tin foil hat off)

This whole idea doesn't sounds like the worst idea Trump has over the decade, and when insurance companies provide these kind of covers, they are going to lobby USG to intervene anyways

Isn't this the norm during WW2? What is the expected norm during the 1940s on military tactics related to civilian targets?
