Don't women get a lot more UTIs than men? I don't think it is as big a deal as many do, I know tons of people both circumcised and not, it hasn't impacted anyone's life that much. The ultra online people crazy about it are often damaged in a lot of other ways, and this is an easy thing to fixate on. Very Freudian really. You should see some of the crazy Propecia related ED forums, the insane corners of the internet are insane. But anti snip part of your peen off people are not in line with anti-vaxxers. The gripe they have is legit medically speaking, humans don't need to have their foreskin removed.

The children thing is weird, and like most things I think we have a pretty good handle on it by "do what you want after 18, before then, NO. Having big time drugs or surgery before then is a large mistake currently because it is irreversible, if that isn't the case in the future it will obviate this entire problem. If a child or adult can be one sex at 9 am and another at 10 am why would anyone care about any of this anymore?

We are discussing currently non-existent future states of humanity, and what it would take to get there. An unregulated fairness-based reality would be preferable, at least for me, to a gilead style oligarchy where everything is permissible for the .001% and everything is prohibited for everyone else.
It honestly shouldn't be that big of an issue, I know lots of people on both sides of the snip. If anything you can last longer without a foreskin which increases sexual performance.

Amphetamine salts are simple and cheap to manufacture, less than a penny per dose in an unregulated market. Yes education is competitive, what is fair about being born smart or more in control rather than taking drugs? Ritalin me that.

This kind of goes to show it isn't about following any real strictures that will make the difference between salvation and damnation. It fits in with my view of even the "serious adherents" not taking any of it too seriously. I'm sure the faithful can spend a hundred thousand words splitting hairs etc to justify it all, but from the outside it just looks like what it is.

Hey we agree on something! I think one should have their posting history open for assessment, we don't have much to go on during anonymous internet discussions, it is hard enough to know if someone is acting in good faith or worth responding to even with a post history. Without one, they can be as mercurial and changeable as they wish for good or (more often) ill.

I'm well aware of law school grading practices, I just don't consider adderall cheating. Is getting enough sleep and eating right cheating? Is being rich enough to not have to work or stress about money cheating? Is being naturally smart and driven cheating? The list goes on forever of different factors that may or may not be beyond your control being "cheating". I never relied on it because I think it can't possibly be good for you long term, but it is a hell of a party drug. The only thing I think of as cheating, is literal cheating. All gatekeeping of surgery or drugs does is make sure poor people can't use the good ones.

You can just let people do what they want with their own bodies, including drugs or surgery, even if it is stupid or gross. What is wrong with people taking adderall for better grades if they see it as a good tradeoff vs side effects?
It is literally wrong! I provided 2 examples of it being dead wrong...This is taking on the aspects of an upsetting phenomenon I've encountered when debunking an occasional 100% fake post on facebook on either side of the political spectrum.
The author will basically say I don't care that it is false, it sounds good to me, or it is funny, or it in your case a slightly more sophisticated " it is directionally correct" type statement.
The Second Amendment doesn't exist in Blue Tribe areas," is an incorrect statement. Not everything can or should be "big pictured" into neither being true or false because everything is nebulous. Your statement was wrong. In reality, what you said is not true, it was false.

There is no way to rationally discuss something so fundamentally irrational, in the end it boils down to "I believe, or I have faith". I try not to get bogged down in the weeds with people who study the bible for fun. It is like engaging with any fandom in their domain. The difference is, most fans of Stargate don't consider it to be a factual representation of events taking place under Cheyenne Mountain in the late 1990's and early 2000's
I don't understand Pascal's wager arguments.
I can just as easily claim that there is an invisible being in my garage that will torment you upon your death for all time if you don't believe in it, and grant you an eternal afterlife of bliss if you do. That wouldn't cause you to believe in it on the off chance I am telling the truth, would it? What about if I claim to have that power and if you don't pay me 1,000 dollars each month as an indulgence I'll damn you to hell, and if you do I'll make sure you get to the good place? Isn't 1,000 dollars cheap insurance against an eternity of suffering or missing out on bliss for all time?
I'm making that claim! I'll be waiting for my venmo transfer when you're ready.
Alternatively, suppose there is a god who only accepts atheists into heaven, and all of the religions in the world are tests created by it to sort out the overly credulous. There are infinite religions you can create, including ones where atheists are the only ones who go to heaven.
That has not been my experience.
