This is an extrapolation but you're explaining for the person who posted, who made no caveats about "more expensive" white writers, just wrote "most whites" as if we are to believe whites (defined how I do not know) are somehow more talented as a whole at writing than ___. This kind of presumptuous comment jars and I concur with @ThomasdelVasto that it shouldn't be just left unquestioned.
Interesting. I may have the least time of anyone on here, at least I feel that may be true when I read about the gaming that occurs and the books that are read. I feel like between work, trying to get in my gym time, taking care of daily household needs (cleaning, making sure my plants don't die, routine maintenance of our house, feeding our pets, spending time with my sons, having reasonably long daily conversations with my wife) and getting in enough sleep (typically six hours) I have no extra time. Yet I cook probably four nights a week (for the four of us) for dinner, and often sort out my next day's meal the night before.
As for anhedonia I have no answer. It's a term I learned on reddit, meaning at first I assumed it was just a pretend word meant to be a catchall excuse for not getting out of fucking bed. I'm not unwilling to believe it is a real thing, but I would suspect finding the root cause of this and sorting it out should be any one individual's main goal in life if he finds himself suffering from it for any length of time. Of course for the anhedonic there is always the convenient excuse: They simply don't have motivation to do anything. I cannot imagine a household where anyone would accept or tolerate this without taking some action to sort it. Of course these people may live alone--but then how are they paying rent?
Not enough time is a flimsy excuse. There is nearly always enough time for anything that matters. We carve out time for what is important to us. We do what we have to or need to do before we do what we want to do. That is one of the first rules of being a man (or adult.)
But as you say, you're offering a hypothetical.
A British friend of mine takes Finasteride and swears by it. I asked my (urologist) doctor about it once in the dark days when I was fannying about worried about my hairline, and he looked at me and said "You will develop man-boobs." (Urologist due to BPH, but they can also prescribe it--though he said he was unwilling to).
Anyway since then I've both calmed down and lost much interest in Finasteride. I believe you mentioned minoxidil, which is basically Rogaine right? But has no hormonal component that I know of. (I write all this before reading your deepdive but I will from now.)
I think what rubs me the wrong way (a phrase of my mother's) is the default alternative to word salad writing was not even to native speaker, but to "white."
I find it oddly bizarre that you've been down voted here for answering a question sincerely, without rancor.
This is a vile sentiment, and that you've received upvotes I suppose indicates at least a few here agree with it. Do you have any experience firsthand in any part of Africa? Do you know anyone either living there or from there? Does your statement cover all the population of the continent? Or just those with darker skin? Or is "African" code for black here? When I read this shit I really feel like discussion is pointless --getting to a point where you're willing to shrug your shoulders and consign an entire continent to the flames is just beyond my ability to empathize with. I align myself against you, that's about as polite as I can put it.
it's an argument for why we should grab our guns and start shooting.
Please stop saying this.
While I can go to Wikipedia (a dubious source, unless it supports one's views I guess) and search for the FBI stats (a dubious organization, until its statistics support one's views) that you mention, this is still equating human beings with dogs. That's an presupposition that in my view is unfounded. A human's behavior, or many humans' behaviors, may be attributable to various factors other than simply their breed, and I'd suggest this is true more so than in the case of dogs. This may be an unpopular view on the Motte, I'm not sure, but it's mine.
I'm done. I'm not going to argue.
You and I are talking (typing) at cross-purposes. And for my part I'm not "accusing" you of anything, except possible pointless hostility. Maybe not even that. You're looking at this as a political strategist. I'm simply making a comment in due process and justice (though again, I don't yet know what that should be as I just clicked in and still haven't watched the full video and do not necessarily think my armchair opinion should be the last word anyway. I've made that caveat.). I agree that releasing this footage was shittily political.
Glad to have somehow helped. I haven't seen that either, alas.
I haven't seen any of those except the first few episodes of Breaking Bad.
I could answer that question with an epithet but it would be bad form to do so. I assume he's a sock puppet of someone banned several times before.
Interesting. It certainly seemed to be something like this, but it was in Arabic and right there on Twitter so I assumed it had to be less tawdry somehow.
Haven't seen you in a while. Maybe just different threads?
Thank you for the response. Just to press the point, is the worst that would happen to a hypothetical child that he or she would end up like you? Is that so bad?
Wow apparently I misclicked because my question was meant for someone else, apologies.
Fun thread but not going to click a random link, sorry.
I won't say you're unoriginal.
Out of curiosity and you don't have to answer: Did your military service contribute to this pacifism?
Has no one here been in the military?!
I haven't, so that's at least one. I did join the Peace Corps right after Gulf 1, which was my halfass way of serving without having the prospect of killing anyone. I think a few members have definitely served and have posted about it, but possibly didn't see this thread or assumed anything to do with reddit wasn't worth replying to.
Interesting, I would expect 10 to have yesses all around. Perhaps I should find more humor in coitus.
Wow, someone has read it! Thanks. I'm a completist and they're pretty short so I'll probably read the lot, but thank you.
Do you have any Lovecraft recommendations? I've only read one (The Dunwich Horror) but I think I could probably get into his writing. Of course Chambers isn't Lovecraft but there's a thread there.
I sense a divorced man in our presence.

Hold the presses, though, because Trump is not exactly a whiz with PR. He has tweeted a happy birthday message. To Mary.
I am guessing he means the Virgin Mary?
