Funny the behavior we punish in our heroes.
Tangentially, I have come to see hatred of religion as the first and largest red flag that someone has converted to a new one.
Structurally, yes.
No real denomination, independent evangelicals. Faith healing cult out of Indiana, google Hobart Freeman.
My recollection is that it was very liberal-coded and "complementarian" grading on the curve of evangelical christianity. Very much a normie American christian thing, which my more strict upbringing recognized as "not real christianity".
Must take a ton of work, what with their brains really being female and all. Can you imagine resisting the urge to knit for years on end while you paint miniature fantasy soldiers?
I do not believe that "society" treats "ugly" transitioners worse than they treat normal men. A bit worse than society treats women, which only heightens the contradictions we're talking about.
The discrimination in society is against men, and transitioners get less of it the more spectacularly their transition intrudes on the lives of those around them.
Being avoided is discrimination?
I need a lot more discrimination in my life.
My dad took me to a PK conference in the Silverdome back in the day. Mid-90s PK was booming. Not sure what you mean by "identitarian", but it was a paint-by-numbers evangelical men's movement. I was a very lost cause by then, but PK was as unobjectionable as a religious group that size is capable.
Who is doing all this discrimination, and how could it possibly keep them from transitioning? The entire medical field, academic, governmental and NGO complex are foursquare behind them and discriminating against anyone who disagrees with what they imagine trans people want. What's the mechanism here? How does chuds using terms like "troon" on Twitter translate into kids in the Tenderloin dropping out of their polycule?
Fantasy discrimination as ego/status preservation for dropping off the trans train?
Is there any trust left? None of these organizations are due the slightest of deference or respect, they're all ideologically captured shills. The BBC is a state propaganda organ, and the state propaganda organ of the UK is hostile to the US president. This is neither surprising nor that interesting. "News" exists to create opinion, not inform it.
Guy born a hundred years ago had fallen off the fashionable language of the cutting edge of academic groupthink?
Famous scientist also a bit of a crank and believed in various wobbly theories at the edge of respectability in their time?
Got cancelled for political reasons?
We talking about Newton, Galileo, Socrates?
As it has always been. Choose.
Also, the level of anarcho-tyranny does vary by state. One of the things you could hypothetically choose is to live in a less tyrannical and less anarchic area.
To the degree Fuentes is getting a publicity bump, it's mostly via the left choosing its destructor. By trying to offload one of their pet murderers onto some dank corner of the internet right, they wound up publicizing a relatively niche character. Who has played his moment in the sun pretty well so far.
And they can't even bitch too much about anti-semitism given lefty behavior in the past two years. This has legitimized right-wing JQ'ers in a way few other things could. Jew-hate is now the nobbly end of the horseshoe, the bridge between the left and right at the extreme.
We all have choices to make in life. One can, with a bit of effort, be either above or below the law. The law is for those who cannot make their own.
Do not quote laws to those with Glocks.
Had a bit of fun at work asking people where I go to sign up for a Handmaid after the election. The DMV people looked at me like I was crazy!
Obviously no data that nuanced to look at, and it would be a dog's breakfast of definitions if there were.
My guess is roughly 90% degens, 9% assholes, 1% "basically ok guy", but obviously I have a side here.
Two years divided by democratic prosecutors and judges is immediate release. There's no point in multiplying laws that won't be enforced and sentences that won't be carried out. We cannot change the laws nor the enforcement, but we can carry a gun.
The furor over "stand your ground" remains silly, as it's not really implicated in most of these situations. Bashing SYG is a way of introducing a presumption of flight to every civilian interaction, which is ludicrous.
The fundamental question being asked seems to be if self defense is worth some single-digit number of edge cases per year in a country with more guns than people.
The answer is yes.
The better question is how much better or worse off the country would be with several thousand more "justified homicides" per year. Is not having to uselessly prosecute a lifetime felon for the umpteenth time worth some fractional enabling of a more tragic scenario? What's the optimal ratio?
It already happened in 2015. By the Obama administration, in conjunction with the Clinton campaign, against the Trump campaign.
It just didn't work. If Trump does something like that in the future, he'll be no worse than Obama in terms of "internal security agency coups".
Israel has accepted a lot more land settlement deals over the years than the Palestinians have. Further complicating things, Israel has one government, and the Palestinians have somewhere between two and six, depending on which terrorist organizations you count. There is no body of Palestinians that can approve a deal that can command the obedience of all the disparate armed groups. Hamas does not command the PLO, the PLO does not command Hezbollah, Hezbollah does not command IJ.
If I read all that right, then the courts have held that a minority must be given their own voting district because they are not the majority. If minority's "preferred candidates" don't win, they must be made to win, because the majority must not be allowed to elect their preferred candidates. We call this "democracy".
"Sidney Sweeney's jeans ad is nazism"
"Wtf I love Hitler now"
The saying goes that leftism is basically just pretending not to understand simple concepts, making dialogue untenable.

As with many marginal religious groups, it was very successful under the original charismatic preacher, and fell to infighting starting immediately after his death (from a perfectly treatable medical issue).
At the least he had the conviction of his beliefs.
