What sort of differences do you feel?
Not exactly that football you are talking about but still: https://youtube.com/watch?v=MusyO7J2inM
At this point I think you will really struggle to find any profitable OF account not managed more or less this way. Really tells you something how quickly we reinvented the pimp in yet another medium of sex.
What do you want? To improve your fitness? To learn self-defense? To have something to do as a physical hobby?
All 3 I guess? I am definitely not sort of guy who would enter drunken brawls either by provoking or refusing to just run away. But recently some life changes (ie pregnant partner and then a baby) made me confront that there can be situations where you really have to stand your ground, helped by a couple of unpleasant encounters as well.
I am totally fine with some bruises (I have a pet theory that your body expends a lot of calories healing bruises and getting bruised is a good way to lose weight, never bothered to research this lol) but I definitely don’t want long term head damage(bread and butter of boxing) and serious joint/tendon problems as I know these can be truly awful and permanent from some experience. So the other comment scared me a bit about bjj at this point.
Thanks a lot for the detailed reply. I have never thought of bjj as injury prone but this makes a lot of sense. Still a bit better than permanent brain damage I guess but not exactly something I am very eager about. And no I am not really drawn to the nerdy problem solving side of bjj at all. I was actually quite happy with the “drill some basics and apply them very well and hard and fast” part of boxing.
I will check out Krav Maga. I have only seen it in the context of disarming videos and that always looked like some serious bullshido to me. I can see why it feels attractive to teach to law enforcement (although still I don’t see how it’s ever good idea as opposed to running away or shooting the guy with the knife). What do you think about that?
Lol how did I not know this
I used to join some boxing and Muay Thai trainings a long time ago. When I was actively training and sparring boxing I really liked the feeling that I had some idea how to stand up for myself if anything happened. Also nowadays I am in meh shape (but not horrible, I run and play tennis) and nothing ever got me as fit as regular sparring so I really would like to pick up a fighting sport again. I would like something where I can train against other people with some force without getting concussions (so no more boxing, I used to have bad headaches after sparring rounds..) and without kicking (very injury-prone in my experience, also some orthopedic problems making this uncomfortable for me).
I will probably drop by a nearby BJJ gym later today to check it out. There is one Gracie gym and one independent well-reviewed gym in my neighborhood. I have some doubts though: BJJ looks like memorizing a fuck ton of technique of dubious value without the constraints of the sport (hitting, biting, gauging etc). Also I am afraid the classes will be a long series of "technique/combo of the day" without long term structure as I often found martial arts classes to be, and I will lose interest.
I know a bunch of people here do casual martial arts so I am fishing for some recommendations. I live in decent size city so I could probably find a gym for most things you recommend.
Edit: just went to my first class and apparently it was cancelled. Great start
I sometimes wonder whether men who marry purely for aesthetics fully grasp that children inherit genetic material from both parents. I would never marry someone intellectually deficient, simply because no offspring of mine deserves the curse of inheriting my appearance and her cognitive abilities. This woman had drawn the genetic short straw; the rest of her family consisted of high-achieving intellectuals.
I mean if her family is relatively smart probably your children will be fine as well?
Where does this idea of lowering criminal sentences because the criminal is stupid or trashy originate from? Is this common across many countries? Just an Anglo thing? Recent? Old?
I don't really know how to flirt
If you cannot play the "game", just be very direct while being open to rejection. Direct compliments on her, asking for her number, offer to buy a drink, offer to dance etc. You don't have to come up with a unique interesting conversation to approach each stranger. Since you seem to be doing the numbers, you will quickly learn what works often and what doesn't. Also, get a wingman (preferably female). Also get somewhat buzzed/high but not too much. Also start smoking or vaping.
I don't know how to dance with other people
Maybe where you are this is different, but I have never met anyone while dancing in a rave. It is too loud and chaotic. There are usually some chilling areas for smoking or resting. That is where I have had 99% of every random conversation I have ever had in such events.
P.S. "girl who is interested in you but you aren't interested in her" has probably friends around! She will probably introduce you to them if you don't totally ignore her. They might be prettier.
Aren't you worried about receiving too many hits to the head at that age?
So you are high-openness in all the ways that doesn't involve interacting with people.
What you are describing is a very narrow set of dogmas that are heavily enforced in Anglo academia, and to a lessening degree as you move further away from the Anglo academia. Many educated people in these circles will indeed be quite good at reciting the dogmas and recognizing that blasphemy is being committed when a dogma is directly challenged. However a very select few 1) can actually work out how the dogma applies to their real life and 2) detect acts or words that undermine tenets of the dogma without explicitly challenging it. This is absolutely crucial to understand if you want to socialize with this crowd (i.e. Western PMC, but not literally sociology grad HR lady) without giving in to their class dogma.
Just... don't talk abstractions. It will almost never come up. If you find the opportunity (typically when in small groups of high-T men), you can bring up some specific minor heresy points (crime, Joe Rogan, taxes etc) and you will quickly get a sense of which ones are true believers and which ones are just pretending to avoid any trouble. Even the most true believers usually cannot tie specifics to the dogma on their own and will easily commit heresies. That is why there needs to be HR commissars at every corner. Absolutely avoid discussing abstractions until you create some rapport and understanding over the minor heresies. If you are not very good at figuring out who to trust, just give small signals (i.e. deniable jokes) and let the more confident take the steps. You are hardly the first person who likes politically incorrect jokes. This is a basic but very effective formula.
Overall I suggest you to stop imagining yourself to be the first person to discover Twitter, or a lone-wolf in a debate club.
I guess this calls for a Thunderdome
I believe it is ethically wrong for me
No stop this. This all reads like a cope for rationalising low-openness. As a person who exists in the world and interacts with other persons, I can tell you that 99.9% of any interactions you will have with others won’t involve any theoretical discussions of tenets of cultural Marxism. And the remaining is easy to avoid or deflect.
I think it’s mainly the perceived capability to apply violence. You should generally prefer to fight a gymbro over a construction worker with less visible muscles if you had to choose
Truly a tragedy, flood of nudes in your DMs. Feeling for you brother.

I have never been on Chinese wikipedia and I must admit suddenly opening a Chinese webpage which is entirely text almost felt like something physically hit me in the face. So many boxes and sticks.
It is difficult to comment on this episode, especially since you drop the information that the guy supposedly wasn't actually touching himself but rubbing some eczema spots. In my personal experience mainland Chinese men (or at least international engineering student types I interacted with) have by far the worst personal hygiene or etiquette awareness I have ever seen in any group of people. But I also never heard or seen them act openly sexually creepy so I am struggling to even visualize this episode.
I must ask: I read about Korea (and heard about Taiwan from personal acquaintances) that in these countries there seems to exist some serious animosity between young men and women. Would you say the same applies to PRC as well?
Why do you think it has relatively low scores on IMDb etc?
Yes I am. Turkey is an ally and military/economic partner to Israel and has always been, regardless of what politicians on both sides like to say in public.
Also I live and pay taxes in a country that does send the direct/indirect aid.
Great news! Now that we established Israelis live long enough and we shouldn’t care about them dying of causes which aren’t statistically important, we can finally stop sending them massive amounts of direct and indirect aid. Imagine how many Africans can be saved from aids in exchange for stopping a single ballistic missile hitting Tel Aviv.
Israel is not supposed to be “a Middle Eastern country”. It’s supposed to be a European colony situated by historical coincidence in Middle East, offering safety to a minority religious group of Europeans who deemed themselves too vulnerable in Europe. If the best you can say in favour of this country that it offers its citizens better survival rates than the civil war Iraq or Syria, then it’s quite a failed project. This is of course not a fringe remark, there is a reason why vastly more Ashkenazim live in the US than in Israel and Israel is turning into a madhouse of the most lunatic religious Ashkenazim and low human capital Mizrahi Jews.
Israel has good relations with the current dictators of Jordan and Egypt, both held in place by enormous American aid and effort so that they would keep having good relations with Israel. It always has to face the possibility that in an Arab-spring like event or a US withdrawal from Middle East, it will be once again bordered by very hostile governments.
This is nonsense in the same way that people argue terrorism kills less westerners than sharks or lightning strikes and therefore caring about terrorism exposes some bias or ignorance. With your same logic, one can show that traffic accidents or obesity is much more dangerous to average Israeli than any hostile action as well. What are you arguing about then? Let’s get cutting the IDF budget for healthy eating campaigns.
But of course this is all atrocious nonsense. Just like how you should of course care many orders of magnitude more about a sentient adversary trying to kill you compared to random accidents, your own state security forces murdering you knowingly to avoid an awkward situation for the politicians is something again many orders of magnitude worse and more troublesome.
That’s a lot of words for saying “I don’t like the people who mention bad thing so I will make up an imaginary argument in my head and win it”. Congratulations I guess.
The OP uses the Hannibal directive as an example of how Jews are very unsafe in modern Israel in a way they aren’t in pretty much any other modern country. This is trivially true no matter how much you foam about the true intentions of the people who mention this uncomfortable fact.

Grew up in an upper middle class family (to parents who grew up as literal peasants themselves), currently living as what I can best describe as "expat class". Earning money that would make me upper middle class in this country easily, but without easy access to most channels this normally opens up in life.
