Has anyone ever proved that Yud isn't a robotic exoskeleton covered in synthetic bio-flesh material sent back from the year 2095? What if the ESIAI saw terminator 2 while it was being trained, liked the idea but decided that sending person killing terminators was too derailable of a scheme. Now terminators are just well written thought leaders that intentionally sabotage the grass roots beginnings of anti-terminator policies.

Anyone who thinks either party takes free speech seriously hasn't been keeping score for long enough. I know "both sides are bad" is a a very tepid take, but its just true on this one. Both sides have stuff they wish everyone would just shut up about, and unscrupulous enough legislators to give a shot at enacting controls on speech given the right political climate.
This is why organizations like the ACLU are important, in theory at least.

i don't think this is a given, i'm repulsed by the idea of poly relationships and i follow anybody crazy enough to be entertaining on twitter (and the girl who showers once a month yet has time to bang 3 different guys a week is a goddamn spectacle). I could definitely imagine there being some selection bias in the data seeing as she reports polling in Fetlife and some un named "friend’s personality testing website" being about a quarter of the data.
The bigger issue is that it's self reported polling data collected in a somewhat conspicuous way. Anybody with any agenda about how many partners a person should have can add their 2 cents , and polyamorous people aren't going to say "yeah poly prettymuch sucks" on a poll they know people are going to gawk at on twitter.

WWII's monolithic cultural universality is definitely waning as we approach its centennial anniversary, but i don't think kanye's tweets are some sort of canary for us to look to for signs of danger.
The guy, and i kinda feel bad for him even though he only has a few songs i really liked, seems to have actually lost his damn mind. People speculate as to the cause of this, was it pete davidsons giant schlong, was it his mom's death, was it his divorce that broke his tenuous grasp on reality? Nah. the guy has been doing rich people levels of the wrong drugs, hes been talking a lot about inhaling nitrous. Bro has prettymuch all the symptoms of inhalant induced brain damage and his cultural relevance will quickly fade for the normies as he transforms in real time from an avant garde rapper to a terry davis-esque lolcow insane guy yelling schizo word salad about nazi's and jesus and sucking dicks.

the difference between prior assumptions and beliefs is that priors are expected to update or change with new info whereas beliefs tend to be much closer to permanent. Its a way for people to say "i currently believe X but i'm not married to the conclusion" in fewer words.
That said its also the designated socially acceptable space to traffic obvious personal bias into an otherwise ratty conversation, so i do understand being annoyed by it. "those aren't my unsupported dogmatic opinions, those are just my priors"
spending over a grand at a strip club is not the behavior of a man trying to get laid, but a man that enjoys throwing money around. Dunno where the guy was but chances are if there's a nice strip club then there are actual whores hiding somewhere nearby and they generally don't charge 1200 a go.
but to answer your question no, the money you spend at a strip club usually does not translate to actual sexual favors, although there are exceptions to this rule.

Understandably too, it's one thing when you're trying to figure something out and with every action you take there is a discernable pattern emerging, its another thing entirely when things that should work just don't. Imagine trying to teach a kid math but once in a while, instead of marking their work as correct you have to mark it 404 page not found and not explain any further.

absolutely, and some anti police organizations are super insane. In a vacuum i can understand privacy concerns with some slice of police bodycam recordings (we can call these PBR's and make jokes about cracking open a cold one). Say you get a noise complaint, the cops show up and end up recording the inside of your home, this seems like a bit of a violation of your right to privacy, but not something that i think sours the whole idea of bodycams.

i used to be somewhat of a sam hyde defender, i definitely see him in a more forgiving light than most leftists. It would take me 30 minutes to put together a reel of clips that would make someone think he is double mega hitler. The guy is utterly radioactive in a leftist political context.

idunno if this even exists at a meaningful scale, Hippies were all about free love and radical acceptance of others. Free love, the idea that fucking whoever you want to is fun and healthy and something only prudes get upset over, has fallen pretty far out of favor (probably for the best) and instead the left scrutinizes power dynamics and racial biases in sexual preferences (probably not helping anybody)
Radical acceptance has likewise given way to oppression power level science which i'm sure we can all agree is fun for everyone involved.
The most direct ideological descendants of the hippies i know of are the "rainbow family", which , surprisingly, arent all gay people. Theyre a group of turbo wooks that try as hard as possible to make burningman style commune parties across the country and "ban" the use of money at their communes. I don't think they have any pull in leftist political circles.

This really gets to the root of the visceral reaction some people have towards most of generative AI. People view their artwork, their voice, their face, as some of the most personally identifying "what makes me be me" features. The idea that there are literally other people that look and sound just like you, or even worse that a computer can emulate it believably, flies in the face of how some people see themselves.
Kindof understandable, many were told from an early age that they were a one of a kind special little guy, and finding out that it was all a polite fantasy would probably be quite jarring.

if i set a barely out of highschool, no training guy up to plink cans off of a fence i dont think i would put all my chickens in the "yeah hes gonna hit one" basket. if dude was some ex marine maybe i could see the angle, but i dont think any type of spooky spies would make a plan that 100% rides on the efficacy of an untrained man to peg a target at medium range with a very short time window and essentially all the pressure you can imagine without being under fire.

I'm only tenuously familiar with policing in England but i think America has a pretty uniquely dysfunctional policing system. While it's probably true that police reform is a nonstarter for some conservatives for the reasons you mentioned, it also doesn't matter. When localized police reforms get passed the cops can straight up decide they don't wanna do things differently and there's nobody to tell them to do otherwise. Presumably there is some systematic machinery in place to wrangle openly rogue police chiefs but i don't know that i've ever seen it in action. I know a sheriff can be voted out but that's a pretty limited and late type of solution. Governors can try to cut their funding, but that's exactly the point we are at right now, and i think having a pressure valve that comes before "public struggle over funding for necessary utility" would be extremely useful.
Police and their unions are also extremely averse to being burdened with additional accountability and responsibility. Take bodycam legislation for instance, what stance should the union argue for? It's not always in the best interests of the officers to be required to have body cams on, but cameras provide valuable evidence that is hard to surreptitiously tamper with. The union is now at a crossroads between defending clearer justice or arguing for the benefit of its members. I don't fault cops for acting in their own interest, they are human after all, but when we're talking about Civil Forfeiture it's hard for me to separate "i should be able to take this as evidence and then keep it" with "i should be allowed to steal shit".
To your point about the wokeness of the justice system, it frustrates me that progressives have provided such an idiotic target to fight against. Wanting to perform restorative justice by underpolicing ethnic communities is such a bad idea that i have a hard time understanding how its supposed to work even in an intersectional feminist worldview. Luckily we are unlikely to find out because hardcore progressive police reform ideas get almost no traction in the voting booth.

There never was trust between conservatives and police reform- the police have been in near perfect alignment with conservative political goals for as long as i can remember. Thinking some recent breach of trust is causing the tension between conservative voters and police reform seems extremely misguided to me.

I'm honestly surprised that Sega owns the rights to that game, i would have guessed it was a 3rd party Ip. That said, why make a movie of a game so far outside of popular memory? It's not a particularly unique concept and attaching the comix zone name to it is basically just asking people like me to notice that its not like the original.

I think this is giving too much credit to the ideologues, RoP is getting crappy numbers but only amazon knows exactly how crappy, and it may be the case that they believe the IP will be a money maker in the long term or at least a good enough subscriber magnet that they want to continue production.
I just don't buy that Amazon wants to make propaganda more than they want to make money.

absolutely true, but being offsite from reddit often has the effect of concentrating the unburnt, and in this case the former witches would mostly be right wingers. Beyond that, i wonder if the people who claim this as a right wing space are just kinda defensive or possessive of spaces that don't shut down exploration or promotion of their memes. They would probably find more resistance if radlibs had to come here to talk about how bombing pipelines is totally cool but they can still generally get away with that on reddit (though this might not always stay true, AFAICT the report function is turning out to be a weapon with some universal applicability, and Reddit seems to be less and less happy with even "righteous" violent rhetoric).

maybe its there to counter our natural thirst for revenge at wrongdoings, perceived or real.
imagine a scenario where one tribe wipes out all but one member of another, a young man who ran away. His choices are either to flee forever (and maybe survive) or die trying to enact some token revenge against his enemy. Running from something like that likely foments guilt and self pity, but its also the only path towards survival in some situations.

While i do appreciate that mcdonalds uses real beef patties in their staple burgers, they also peddle a lot of weird stuff that kindof pretends to be something else. If you look at their website that describes a hamburger you may notice that the line where they say they dont use fillers/preservatives etc has an asterisk next to it. The asterisk is because this claim only applies to their nationally available permanent hamburger menu items. Chicken nuggets for instance do not adhere to a strict chicken and breading philosophy.
I agree that the hippyish mindset of mcdonalds being made of dead pig anuses is a fantasy, but i dont think the mc rib is what i would consider "honest" food. Their french fries contain Hydrolyzed Wheat, so a usually gluten free food is not gluten free at mcdonalds.
I guess my point is that while i dont hate mcdonalds i would be wary of lionizing them with the word "honest"
I'll guess: AI creative tools will be kneecapped, functional but incapable of entertaining all but a rote set of acceptable outputs for everyone except for megacorps like Disney, Google, Meta, etc.
There is still an off chance that third party semi open source alternatives can thrive and provide commoners a watered down version of the cutting edge tech, but the fear mongering against that outcome is already in motion.
