Why are there not loitering counter-drones above troop movements in Ukraine? I’m seeing footage of surveillance drones with high-fidelity video recording, zooming in 16x or 32x onto targets. What’s stopping the development of drones with video recording that feeds into AI and surveils for incoming enemy drones? Ai should be able to determine if something is a drone from visual signature + movement. Then you’d simply have to equip it with some kind of birdshot or have it launch a smaller drone.

Of course pleasure is weighed against pleasure, but humans are not as innately reasonable as they are innately animal. A smoker seeing a cigarette is immediately compelled to it, sometimes without a chance to have a second thought. “Longterm consequences” is a mental construct created after a long period of practicing (effectively). Humans aren’t designed to plot out in their mind how they will feel in five years if they continue to smoke and then imagine it saliently with excellent theory of mind and then decide to ignore the urge to have the sugar because they remember this mental image they developed. That is an artificial activity that comes with training / acculturation, whereas simply smoking or drinking or eating a cheeseburger is natural.

What do you mean? Do you disagree that humans have instinctively strong desires, which spring from their evolved biology? Do you disagree that human instinct is often unaligned with human reason? Is sugar not more desirable to you than bitter herbs? Do you not believe that “beauty” is inherently more pleasing than “non-beauty”? All of this is due to our evolved biology. Reason can say that it’s best not to smoke cigarettes, but this seldom influences the decision of a habitual smoker, because their biology finds it pleasant and they want to keep the habit in spite of reason. And you don’t live in a country where everyone is skinny, right? Or a world where teenagers stop playing video games late into the evening because they care about their 15-year plan and the effects of poor sleep.

My culture’s mysticism rigidly distinguishes between the Spiritual Person, which is spirit and intellect and prosocial emotions, and the Flesh, which is the instinctual cravings of the animal part of man. However, I don’t necessarily think this is the optimal way to construe things.
As a last question: when boys are choosing a book or movie, do they choose something about healthy strong man taking charge, or do they choose something about a young woman? Why do you think this is, if you can’t fall back to “it is in their instincts”?

I don’t think we know enough about ancient Mesopotamia to say whether it was a primitive democracy; given that the King was labeled “king of the universe” I think it’s unlikely. But in any case, “old as history” means “as old as civilization”, and humans are much older than that. Men didn’t form advanced civilization due to any biological impulse or feeling compelling them, but because their intellect persuaded them that it was for the greater good. It required significant social infrastructure to keep afloat: priests, myths, stories, tragedies, rituals, public executions, angry gods.
Reading is as old as written history, but reading is non-biological. It has been lost before, like in the Bronze Age Collapse / Greek Dark Ages. It’s not like throwing, or building a shelter, which all humans know how to do. An example in another animal might be a primate learning primitive sign language. That’s not biologically-rooted, though they can do it. You can train a monkey to ride a unicycle, but that’s not natural or rooted in their biology.
So there’s a very real, and useful, distinction between “humans do this because intellect/reason assures them of a delayed benefit”, and “humans do this because they feel a strong primal urge to do it”. A woman might be compelled by reason to marry an ugly guy if she has no other option; but a woman would not be passionate about it. I don’t think fascism just so happens to take advantage of animal biology to increase passion for the state; I think that this is its functional definition, especially colloquially.

Because it is an abstract construct that requires training for a human to either care about or learn. Humans don’t stumble across abstract philosophy in the natural environment.

No, not every state roots itself in biological instinct to the same degree. “Ranked choice voting” and “representatives based on population” are examples of procedures unrooted in biological instinct. These procedures require the use of intellect to conclude that the procedure is ultimately in our best interest; when instinct rears its head and says “I wish my leader continued longer than the term allows”, it is quelched by a sense of logic insisting that it’s for the greater good. Franco, Mussolini, and Hitler obtained power through force (or the threat thereof) without much interest in procedure. That’s biological: you could see that happen in humans 100k years ago, or in primate groups.
Epithumia and Logos are too broad as concepts to know in what sense you mean that they are “biological”. Logos, as a construct of wisdom, is surely non-biological.
I don’t believe that humans actually come with “individualistic self-interest”; they come with a self-interest mediated by social cooperation and tribal allegiance. Purely individualistic self-interest is… how old? Not very old at all. It’s like 20th century new. In any other period, someone who pursued ruthless self-interest at the expense of the collective would be (rightfully) purged, his genes being defective.

Probably because of his heroic and glorious military career in pursuit of securing territory for a people, his subservience of selfish ambition to nationalist aspirations. Or because “he is not a man; he is a symbol, a form; he is the Italian soul”. His hero worship is precisely because he mirrors fascism. If he were simply a bureaucrat politician with some ideas, no one would worship him. And indeed, I don’t think anyone worships him for his view of democratic republicanism (he fought for the monarchists for the sake of unification). Fascism is about Garibaldimaxxing, to the fullest extent, so that men have a lot of passionate feelings about the nation, which can only occur through marrying it to biological instinct.

By “biological” I don’t mean race alone: the biological instinct to secure and favor one’s territory without regard for any potential benefit of internationalism; a leader who is strong, militant and paternal, occupying the same role as a leader in a primitive human group or warband; paternal regard for citizens; distrust of foreigners and saving the worst hatred for foreigners who meddle in your territory; importance of allegiance to a single leader; importance of tradition; shaming individualism; increasing pride through deeds specifically for the group (as opposed to say, getting a job in finance). These spring up from a biological source; non-fascist societies actually need to train people to feel otherwise. An untrained boy will always like the strong, militant, paternal superhero; he makes exclusive “hide-outs” in the woods with his own friend group and would be upset if another group of boys encroached; he imitates his father’s ways; etc. You could see these features in many prehistoric societies.

The UN, in the link at #3, is saying that their own staff face hunger and “hospitals have admitted people in a state of severe exhaustion caused by a lack of food.”
It’s a fucking war.
Hardly. It’s disproportionate, there’s no viable objective, Israel’s intention is to ethnically cleanse the land, and there’s no legitimate reason to be punishing the civilian populations by withholding aid or firing on civilians attempting to obtain aid.

If Israel starves all Gazans to death, there would probably be a severe international response. We are seeing consistent public opinion shifts against Israel already. Mike Huckabee’s recent shift is a telling example. There’s also been a general shift against Judaism among the public. The question is how much Israel can torture the civilians before there is sufficient moral pressure to make them stop.

Fascism can be conceived as the marriage between biological instinct and the State, and for this reason any fascist should note: the #1 most important thing is for your spokespersons to be biologically compelling, ie beautiful and strong. There’s a reason why Hitler perfected his voice and gestures and costumes in private, only allowing himself to be seen in select moments indicating strength — even at select times of day and in select lighting! You don’t want a non-masculine mid to ever be professing “fascism” in public. This is the real issue with the Jubilee video. It’s all Chad meme (always has been .jpg).

Right. No one says “shame on all doctors” or “shame on medicine as an institution” just because thousands of people die from medical errors yearly. Complicated centralized operations are bound to result in errors, especially in a country with a lot of stupid people. This is also just a general issue with importing stupid people into your country, and why it’s good to deport any who make it in. Imagine an operation like this, done by people with an even lower IQ?

I think it’s two things: school and work eat up more time for young people, and algorithms have gotten too brain-frying and addictive. So those ages 13-25 are more stressed than even a decade ago, and at an early age they’ve been driven into low-intellectual low-discussion online spaces. There was once a time you could have long discussions on even YouTube, like over weeks continuing the same conversation, but they changed the design to make it impossible long ago. The design on Instagram also actively prevents discussion. The new Reddit design has also heavily discouraged discussion. For addiction, think about how different the YouTube experience was in 2010 compared to today, not just shorts vs video, but the flashy thumbnails and formulas every large channel uses to maximize engagement. All those techniques increase the sense of novelty and reduce attention span, which winds up making reading and discussion laborious for zoomers.
There aren’t actually any private alternatives to the “old internet”. The closest are group chats and discords, which are qualitatively different and possess other challenges to maintaining discussion. Most of the internet that would have entered discussion in the past (to discuss news / social issues / politics / whatever) engage with the more surface-level apps like Instagram and tiktok and parts of x, usually for being performative and social and “engaging” and curating a vibe to reap social rewards — not really focused on discussion. And then there are the smaller users who just hang around these accounts. Even for film — why discuss film when you could post your lettrbox and put it in your social media profile to get laid? This appears to be the prevailing trend.
Also, I think a lot of boys who would be involved in online discussion are addicted to video games, which have gotten more addicting over the years, and are also probably making memes instead of discussing — at one point, memes and discussion were interlinked in image boards, but now you can post these in apps and gain a small following.

The celebrities aren’t the big deal to me. If a foreign country was involved in using Epstein to gather intelligence and to blackmail, then the public should know that. If the foreign country is so influential that they can do that without ever facing repercussions, then the public should definitely know that so they can change their priorities accordingly.

I question whether a reasonable person can read about the Epstein case and conclude that it doesn’t demand additional investigation. It wasn’t normal that Epstein’s activities were secretly funded by America’s most important pro-Israel lobbyist. It wasn’t normal that he rigged his rooms with videographic equipment. It wasn’t normal that he went to visit Israeli military bases in 2008 while on trial. It wasn’t normal that Ehud Barak, the former PM of Israel and former head of Israeli military intelligence, visited him 36 times. It’s not normal for former Mossad agent Ari Ben-Menashe to tell journalists that he was told Epstein was military intelligence. It’s not normal that Epstein’s assistant was the daughter of a Mossad spy.
If we’re incapable of protecting the country from this kind of threat then we should just surrender to China. The Chinese will be more a little more reasonable about this thing. They would have already executed dozens of people.

But the overarching real reason behind doing this was to fund the Jewish schools. Haredi corruption is like this. The Cars4Kids, the 1bil in nyc public funds, etc.
But Epstein didn’t target Zionist Jews who contributed large sums of money, right? Leon Black isn’t really a big Zionist contributor, and his moderate donations to Jewish causes occur post-Epstein. Large Zionist donors do not appear to be targeted by Epstein. They were among his social network because Wexner was Epstein’s patron.
Balkany using blackmail to fund Yeshivas isn’t commonplace or mundane. Yeshivas are the heart of Jewish identity and an essential way that Orthodox Jews buffer against the prospect of assimilation. Chabad was very upset when Sweden forbid homeschooling, because in the absence of indoctrination the kids will have a less extreme Jewish identity. This falls under “blackmail for increased jewish power”, not “blackmail for personal gain” (his salary is not a proportion of the total yeshiva endowment).

We don’t know all the clients of Epstein because the client list wasn’t released. You’re confusing his social circle with the client list. His social circle was filled with Wexner’s influential Jewish friends — Wexner ran the Mega Group, a consortium of Jewish billionaires who pooled their money toward Jewish / Israeli influence.
Wexner led the group with Bronfman, and it inspired several philanthropic initiatives such as the Partnership for Excellence in Jewish Education, Birthright Israel, and support for the renewal of Hillel International

I can’t understand your motivations here. The testimony of Maria Farmer was published without any doubtfulness by every major news organization who wrote long pieces on Epstein. Her testimony appears in documentaries and books, without skepticism. She was the first to report Epstein for crimes and the first to go to journalists. In no stretch of the imagination is she a “notoriously unreliable witness”. She is maybe the most reliable witness we have about Epstein.

Jane Doe #200 was told (or given hints) that Epstein was Mossad, but she was dating him. This was not something casually mentioned to a victim.
Hoffenberger was told that Epstein was in “intelligence” and engaged in “blackmail”, but this is when Hoffenberger was a fellow Jew engaged in Epstein-level fraud. He went to jail and converted to Christianity and I suppose had a road to Damascus moment and told the truth:
Hoffenberg told me that Epstein had said he’d worked on several projects with Robert Maxwell, including solving Maxwell’s “debt” issues. (Maxwell died in 1991, under vey strange circumstances, apparently having fallen off his yacht, the Lady Ghislaine, in the middle of the night and it was discovered in the aftermath that he’d stolen 100s of millions of dollars from the pensions of his employees.) Epstein had also told Hoffenberg that via Maxwell and Leese he was involved in something that Hoffenberg described as “national security issues,” which he says involved “blackmail, influence trading, trading information at a level that is very serious and dangerous.”
Four separate sources told me — on the record — that Epstein’s dealings in the arms world in the 1980s had led him to work for multiple governments, including the Israelis. Some of these sources are more reliable than others. But the gist of the claims that you will be able to hear, and ultimately watch in a three-hour documentary series, is that Maxwell, who was himself a conduit between the Israelis and other governments during his life time, introduced Epstein to Israeli leaders, who then allegedly used Epstein as the equivalent of an old-fashioned Russian “sleeper,” someone who could be useful in an “influence campaign.” The sources, who range from former arms dealers to former spies — and also Hoffenberg — suggest that Epstein, who lacked any sort of moral compass, decided to go one step further and compromise influential people by recording them doing things they wouldn’t want made public.
Ari Ben Menashe, himself a former Mossad spy, recounts that he was told directly by Maxwell that Epstein was Mossad (or military intelligence): [2]
What happened was Maxwell introduced [Epstein] to us, and he wanted us to accept him as part of our group. [He said] ‘and your Israeli bosses have already approved.’
I’m not sure of anyone else that Epstein told was Mossad. In fact, this itself is telling if true. If he is hanging around a Jewish network, he’s involved in Mega even, and he’s going around telling everyone that he’s X and Y, but he selectively omits the very lie that he would naturally tell, which is that he’s Mossad…. If he’s just lying all the time, surely he would tell the victims and the gentiles that he is Mossad. Why only tell the well-connected Jews? Would he really risk lying to two Mossad agents about being Mossad (Maxwell and Menashe)? If I’m Epstein and I’m a random American guy who loves to lie, and I love my Jewish identity, I would be telling everyone that I have deals with Israel — I wouldn’t tell them every lie but this one.

Maria Farmer was a graduate art student who was pressured to sell her work to Epstein at a discount by her school's dean, Eileen Guggenheim. Giuffre was a spa attendant at the Mar-a-Lago. Jennifer Araoz was recruited outside of her high school.
It does not appear that either side has figured out a way to hide from enemy drones. If you are in the settlement that they are attacking, you will eventually just die.
