Wasn't it illegal in every state before Roe vs Wade? Seems like there's been a pretty massive shift in opinion since even though there are still people who oppose abortion.

I really wish that Republicans were awesome enough to destroy social security and Medicaid but I know in my heart that they never will.

I don't understand why the third party apps are shutting down instead charging a subscription fee to cover the API costs.

Some HBDer will make some comment about how we could reduce criminality if we deported all the blacks, and I'll comeback with "What if we just deported all the convicted felons instead" only for them to stammer something about group differences in IQ, the 14 words, etc...

Where was this? Stormfront?

The US provides Iron Dome funding on demand so it may as well be unlimited from Israel's perspective.

It's not hypocrisy to be in favor of supplying Israel but not Ukraine. I think our alliance with Israel is dumb and one-sided but we are actually allies in contrast to Ukraine where we don't really owe them anything.

It would take a long time to prepare for an invasion of Taiwan so unless they already have everything ready to go (and the CIA has completely dropped the ball and missed it) then I don't see how they would be able to do that before Israel squishes Hamas like a grape. Even if they managed to take Taiwan it's not like the US has to surrender because they captured the flag, they can just continue to blockade China from a distance indefinitely. It wouldn't be the first time somebody took the "Americans are too weak to accept casualties fighting in a distant war" gamble and historically that hasn't worked out well.

The US would suffer a massive recession if Chinese goods were suddenly cut off but oil wouldn't be a major problem. The US is already energy self-sufficient and China couldn't stop them from importing as much as they want from Mexico and the Middle East.

Yes, politically correct brigade pretends they are the same thing, but we don't have to accept their framing.

You don't have to accept their framing in the same way that a sovereign citizen doesn't have to accept the framing of a cop writing him a traffic ticket. If you don't want to go to prison (in many countries) or be fired from your job (in the US) then you do have to accept the common definition.

I'm extremely skeptical that the lower classes are subsidizing the middle class. I would need to see some numbers to back that up given that income taxes are progressive and most handouts are restricted by income.

Is this the math where they count tax breaks the same as welfare payments?

If that paper is correct that high density = low birth rates then NIMBY is a good thing. It reduces the number of people that can afford to move into crowded megacities where birth rates plummet.

If you know about HBD then it wouldn't it be self defeating to examine applications in a race blind way? And why would black people be ok with that when they have the voting power to force you to hire them anyway?

You think that political and judicial power are overwhelmingly in the hands of Anglos? IIRC Gorsuch is the only WASP on the Supreme Court. Biden isn't an Anglo, Kamala isn't Anglo, the Cabinet is mostly Jewish or Catholic. I'm sure there are plenty in congress but McConnel's not and Schumer's not. I don't know what "overwhelmingly dominant" would look like but it's not that.

Never is a long time. What year do you think African migration to the EU will stop in?

Maybe the first generation stays in place but the second generation gets citizenship and can go anywhere. It will probably be a while before they decide to go to Ukraine, but they definitely will in the end. Same thing happened in the US, the immigrants all arrive in the coastal cities but they don't all stay there.

I don't think they're that influential on American foreign policy. How many evangelicals did Biden or Obama have in their administration? How many people working in the state department are evangelicals? I would expect a country dominated by evangelicals to look a lot different than the US does now.

Cheap is relative. In the really bad neighborhoods of St. Louis you're looking at much less than that for a house, maybe $30k-$100k.

Other reasons I can think of:

  • Some people don't mind it as much if they're from the neighborhood. I worked with a girl who grew up in the hood and still lived and there and she said that people have each others backs. You might get shot but it's going to be somebody from another street, not your street. That doesn't sound very comforting to me but I guess it's different if you grew up that way.

  • A lot of these people are on Section 8, which not all landlords accept and can't be used to buy a house. Of the ones who aren't on section 8 directly a lot live with a girlfriend/mom/grandma who is so they aren't mobile.

  • Black people are only 13% of the population so there can't be many of them everywhere.

As one example among many, why is Columbus, IN (pop. 50k, 45 miles south of Indianapolis) 24% nonwhite despite median home values ($185k) that are higher than many of the 90+ percent white suburbs of Indianapolis (e.g., Franklin, Mooresville, Greenfield)?

Columbus is a college town, it's not going to be comparable to other small towns or to a big city like Indianapolis. There are more Asians than blacks there which is definitely not true of St. Louis.

An openly anti-democratic militarist movement with the goal of setting up an authoritarian, confessional Catholic state? Is that not far-right?

Wasn't that pretty much what Spain was until 1931? And then wasn't there a lot of intimidation, murder and violence shortly after that? I can't remember the exact timeline since it's been a couple of years since I read about this, and the book I read was pro-Franco so maybe I didn't get the whole picture. Monarchism + Catholicism seems like pretty standard conservative stuff at least for the time and place. I think authoritarianism isn't a great way to distinguish right vs far right since you can have an authoritarian government that's left, right or center.

Wasn't CEDA a large, establishment right wing party with widespread support in Spain in 1936? Actually I kind of think that fits because I don't see the Nationalists as being far right (though there were far right elements), they seemed pretty happy to line up behind Franco who I would classify as more of a traditional conservative than far right.

It's obviously false based on a cursory look at real data.

https://www.neighborhoodscout.com/ky/louisville/crime

https://communitycrimemap.com/

Look at that and then look at google maps and it's immediately clear that the most dangerous areas are all in the dense parts in the west with the grid streets and density that yimbys love.

Anglo Saxon Catholics would count I guess but how many of those are there? Anglos are people of English descent, otherwise I would just say white people.

Eliminating or greatly reducing qualified immunity (for prosecutors more than cops, actually) is a big plank.

Won't that just mean every cop getting constantly sued by everyone they ever put in jail?

What Trump did is worse but it's not immediately obvious to me why we should draw the line at exactly what Trump did and not an inch less. If the point is that stealing is wrong then we usually don't let thieves walk free if they offer to return what they stole months later after being caught.

Seems kind of suspicious that voter fraud is supposedly vanishingly rare but when the media picks some guy at random he's committing voting fraud.

The faction that backs Israel is the one that has complete control of the government, military and big business. The Palestinian side has thrown a few protests and made some TikToks but it's not like they can ship over crates of missiles or billions in foreign aid like we do for Israel.

Happiness is a good thing it's just that other things may be important at any given time. It's not bad for a 35 year old man to be unemployed and living in his mom's basement because it makes him happy, it's bad because he's not fulfilling his responsibility to help support the household and he's missing the opportunity for the longer term and more fulfilling happiness he would get from building a life.

If a the sexual revolution made women shirk their responsibilities (to start a family) and it also made them less happy then that's double bad.

And sure--anti-white racism is real, and can be every bit as virulent and destructive on an individual level as any other kind of racism. So let's not be racist.

If other people are racist against me how does it help me to unilaterally stop being racist against them? We already tried the race blind thing and every group except white people kept relentlessly advocating for their racial interests. South Africa tried the same thing with identical results. No truce is possible because the other side will shoot you in the face the instant you lay down your gun.
