The h1 headline hooked me enough to read 2 sentences without noticing the disclaimer at the top. I was sorely disappointed that it was just slop.
In short, "It is ok to be white, but it is not ok to loudly proclaim that it is ok to be white" seems a coherent position.
Somehow it's okay to proclaim "it's okay to be x" for all values of x except for a single particular one.
In college we scanned some textbooks so we could share them and not buy them. We did it exactly this way, chop the spine off and put the entire thing through a scanner's automatic document feeder.
Lots of old books are thrift store trash, with near zero street value and plentiful availability of you looked for it. But nobody scans them because nobody cares. Nothing of value is lost if a fair condition book like this is destroyed
Of course I would love for all these books to get dumped on libgen or annas archive but that could be asking too much. It would be cool if ai labs clould get together and donate to a "charity" in a jurisdiction where copyright doesn't exist, that just happens to release big torrent dumps of all the books
Senator Jon Ossoff repeatedly asked him who won the 2020 presidential election. Clayton declined to answer.
With this simple question, Ossoff has just provided a powerful counter to one that so many progressives have tripped over in the last decade, "what is a woman?"
I think this is totally a false equivalence. The most accurate take on the situation would be "there is no strong evidence that the 2020 election was stolen." But it's still within the real of possibility that it could have happened. Overall election fraud is a multifaceted issue with varying levels of evidence of varying levels of unsavory actions. It then has many layers of indirection to hide within and many viewers just won't care.
On the other hand, calling a burly man in makeup and a dress a woman is something that takes no special knowledge to understand. Additionally, it's a much more mandatory loyalty oath: If you're on the left if you don't clearly and explicitly make the oath, you will be attacked. On the right if you avoid talking about the election, nobody will care.
99% of these people of course still want the cop to rot in prison for life, and want people similar to the deceased to be allowed to roam freely on the streets. They just believe that the protests are counterproductive to that goal.
Shiloh isn't even that hot but she got the right pr team to turn her into a martyr. Purged all her socials. Always showing up in long sleeves to cover her degenelate tattoos and otherwise having a professionally done outfit
I think the responses can roughly be split into three camps: 1) CHAZ is great, I'm thrilled, 2) interesting idea, wait and see, 3) pointless, it'll do nothing.
None of these are really serious criticism.
I only last checked the latest google models and gork imagine, and they're all complete dogshit.
FLUX 3
Haven't seen it before but the demo reel you shared is kind of disappointing. Not really impressed.
She certainly shut it down eventually but this was after months of supporting it. I don't believe any of her actions showed any opposition to the movement itself, just that the fact that the bad optics of weekly murders threatened to make her look bad.
For local Democrats,
I'm certainly open to hearing of any other democrat officials strongly against it, preferably in the highest positions of power possible.
I seem to recall left-wingers and Democrats criticising CHAZ, for instance, while it existed.
Name a single elected official at the federal level or high ranking unepected party member that did this.
(And to preempt the accusations of moving the goalposts obviously I didn't mean twitter randos, it's possible to find some of those saying nearly anything no matter how zany)
leftist territory occupations that are permitted by the local leftist authorities are extremely rare.
Yet when it happens literally not a single leftist or democrat speaks out against it
I think the roblox angle is overemphasized in this case. It seems he met the victim originally in irl and they probably incedentally used the snap and roblox because that was what the kids were already using.
But it's kind of much worse to have predators teaching in schools rather than just being on the internet.
Strictly looking at human sexual preferences, this kind of relationship isn't even that unusual except for the fact that it's probibited by society (for good reason). Under sharia law she's probably a bit old and the man too young to be getting married.
We also don't even know for sure if the suspect groomed the victim or was actually seduced by the victim. I don't have any actual numbers but I think it's not that unusual for students to make unwanted advances towards teachers. That doesn't make the perp any less of a scumbag but it kind of give a more understandable story than pedo teachers infiltrated the school to groom kids.
Ugh AI Slop. Can't stand the aesthetic. Can't stand every single sentence having multiple AI tells. The entire thing is vibe coded with literally zero oversight into the methodology or rigor. Just ignore this. Get it off my timeline.
I'm all for AI art but right now the state of video is absolutely godawful. Elon is completely delusional if he thinks he can make something good in a year. Than again nano-banana came out and nobody expected it (though most people are still using gpt-image-2 ... YUCK!!!)
About the movie, who really cares about "authenticity"? It's not like the story is strictly historically accurate to real events in the first place. Watch the movie and enjoy it. or don't. Whatever it's a movie. I'm not going to watch it though.
On a related but unrelated note, casting a black girl as the green girl in Wicked completely ruined the movie. Because despite being green she was just so black.
perversely, their unsustainable fertility rates are economically sustained by the momentum of declining fertility itself, sort of like when Wile. E. Coyote runs off a cliff but refuses to fall because he won't look down.
Very cool. I never thought of this but it makes a ton of sense. Kids take a ton of resources for 20 years without providing a drop of productivity, so if a society stops having kids they suddenly feel very rich. But 20 years later they'll feel the pain immensely.
my older daughter hasn't been invited to anyone's house.
How old is she? If she has friends she should be getting invited, if not then you have bigger problems.
When it comes to flaking, apparently that's just bay area things. People have to cancel when things come up but in general if somone saw the time and place, and said they're coming, then they put it on the calendar, don't double book something else, and show up. Never been anywhere where this isn't the case.
There are 2 factors here:
- A human is required to create copyright.
- Clean room is a defense against claims of infringement. If your tools had access to the original work, then that defense falls apart. Of course this is only relevant if your work seems infringing in the first place by looking like a protected work.
One major reason for clean room is that when trying to reimplement a fully-compatible alternative, it's inevitable that some of the code will end up very similar to the original, or even the same. By using clean room, you can establish the creation of an entire new copyright on the work even if it's the same. It's like if two photographers take the exact same photo at the exact same time they each own their own copyright to their respective copies.
On the other hand, for something to be considered infringing in general, it actually has to be shown as a derivative work in the first place. Meaning it has to look similar to the existing work. You can argue abstractly that AI is a plagarism machine, but unless you can point to the part that was stolen (which has happened on a few occasions in the past, but not many) then the courts will tell you to pound sand.
chardet's relicencing
I think the topline kind of misses the nuance of the situation. If you looked at the code the change wasn't really a refactor or rewrite of the original thing, but basically an entirely new vibe coded package wearing the skin of the old one. I think it's in very poor taste to do that because it's going to break the users, but legally I think there's a decent argument that it's not a derivative copyrighted work.
full bans
I actually like full bans on paper. Not because they will work, but because if someone dumps something low quality that has the smell of AI, you point at the rules and don't engage further.
For people who do good work and use AI as part of it, it can be a don't ask, don't tell sort of situation. And it's also a not-so-subtle reminder not to paste a wall of ai slop into the comments section.
I think many people form an emotional bond with a model that happens to communicate on their wavelength. For me I particularly enjoyed talking to gemini 3.1 pro and gpt 4.1, even though there are more intelligent and truthful models out there. But those models are also great at gaslighting me. Once I asked a question to both 3.1 and gpt pro and thought 3.1's answer was sooo much better. But then I asked someone who worked in the field, who told me that gemini was mostly wrong.
Anyways back to the point less sophisticated users who buy into the hype are liable to mistake this smooth communication as a sign of exceptional intelligence. It's not.
Kimi might be the strongest open weight model right now but that title changes hands frequently. By no account is it leaps and bounds above its competitors. Some very noisy people just like the model.
What is the content here? Basically "Look at these ugly trans girls" in some niche media nobody else cares about.
I think OP's post is a bad post, but I think your take is also a pretty bad strawman. DDLC is the most influential VN made by western devs (soon to be overtaken by TCOAAL) and arguably the most influential in the english speaking audience. When it went viral it firmly penetrated into the normiesphere.
The fansom has shrunk since then but I still think this incident is quite an interesting scissor statement that manages to piss off different people for different reasons.
Obviously I think OP is wrong but I have to accept that it's hard to grasp what is truly at the core of this situation.
There's a conflict within the left between the faction that believes that beauty and art is acceptable, as long as it promotes the correct slogans, and the faction that glorifies the grotesque and believes that beauty is intrinsically linked with fascism.
This ain't no trans conflict. It's a conflict between these factions.
Two mandatory tools for writing typed python:
-
Vscode. You need the realtime feedback on errors and it also tells you what the computer thinks every variable is.
-
Ironically, an LLM. They are great at telling you what you screwed up to get an error. Yet horrible at actually fixing the issue.

AI tells are correlated with low quality garbage content, but are not solely the cause of it. In fact I spend hours every day reading thousands of words of output from my own clanker, which I wouldn't do at all if I didn't find it useful and worthwhile.
The fact is that this dump of slop is not worth reading at all. Get it off my timeline.
There are plenty of bloggers who type with human hands. Mute, block, report, and ignore all of the slopmeisters, and the gems will come to the top
