Haydn Concerto n. 1 but definitely mine isn't as polished as a professional would play it. However Haydn is such an interesting person so it feels good to play something of his somewhat well. I like his surprise symphony too!
How hard is it to play the bass? It always seems so physically intensive.
You figured it out so easily but I guess the context clues were there. It truly is the most beautiful, and I also like that I can avoid the A string (personal least preferred) completely and still play the same music and make it sound a bit more.. somber?
I have finally nailed a piece on a string instrument (somehow I don't want to reveal which one) that took me ages; Bach really tormented my dreams. The way that it finally worked was listening to it every night before bedtime like a lullaby to finally incept the time signature and melody into my brain so that I could wake up in the morning and play it.
PS: it's NOT a violin, those are just a bit too whiny for my taste
I filled this out as a cheater and someone who’s been cheated on, can’t wait to realize I’m a terrible, whorish outlier
Enjoyed reading about Tom Sachs and his redemption arc apparently in his NYT portfolio here
Tom Sachs was ambling through his art studio in Manhattan’s Chinatown this spring when he pointed out a low-slung, octagonal seat. It was a hard-edge variation on the kind of cushioned ottoman that appears in many of New York’s high-end boutiques. “We call it the cuck chair,” said Sachs, 59, barely suppressing a titter. “It’s a place to sit in the shop with your iPhone while your spouse is being pleasured by the staff.”
I guess if it’s a Sachs cuck chair maybe you do just sit on it.
“My main concern is that other people’s feelings are more important than some idea that I have,” he said, explaining that these days, he is less focused on dominion over his team and surroundings.
Also interesting to note that he seems to be saying the “right things” but that could just be my cynicism about the whole “canceled” (but not really) celebrity comes out of the woodworks.
Even so, I enjoy his design work and may have even tried his knolling and cleaning technique to calm the mind at times.
This might be weird but I’ve been experimenting with running indoors and outdoors. I found this one singular video of a walk through Rio de Janeiro - you know one of those default “city” videos you can watch on the treadmill. It put me in such a trance state that I ended up running 8 miles just watching this hyper pixelated video on an exercise machine. Finally experienced some sort of post run endorphin. Highly recommend zoning out to the default Rio run video on a treadmill if you can.

I have this strange theory that he probably prepares for these types of things beforehand because how could someone have such knowledge about niche wrestling for example? However that's probably being unfair to him; maybe he is quite a savant beyond just his acting abilities.
