I do not wish to live in the timeline where Gaetz throwing Trump's name into the ring for speaker of the house actually leads to him becoming the speaker of the house, but if it actually happens it would be must-see tv to see Trump interacting with representatives on the house floor

Has the distinction between transmedicalists, truscums, and tucutes ever been articulated on here? I would have assumed that due to the dominating market share of trans-accepting places on the internet that now default to the Gender Euphoria model of transness, Motte posters would be generally unaware of the 'battle' between older transgenders/transsexuals who fundamentally view gender dysphoria as a medical issue necessary of medical care (transitioning to the other sex) and a new wave of Extremely Online trans teenagers who think anyone who experiences Gender Euphoria (for which there are multiple definitions of) counts as transgender and that they are 'Too Cute' (hence the name) to be cisgender.
As for if there's a distinction between the terms transmedicalist and truscum, I keep finding conflicting opinions. Some people claim transmedicalist is the group's self-chosen name and truscum is an exonym placed upon them, others claim the two groups have different opinions on non-binary people and whether it is necessary for someone who is trans to transition completely to the opposite sex, and yet others claim the terms differ in that everyone can be a transmedicalist, but trans people who go against the Gender Euphoria model of transness get labeled as truscum. As with most terms created and spread by the internet, the history of the terms is unclear and more time will be necessary to see if the terms are going to mean the same thing, if they are going to end up with different definitions, or it one term will overtake the other completely in usage.

The YouTube algorithm is notoriously opaque from the end user perspective, and truly is hasn't been transparent since YouTube made the first major adjustment to it by disincentivizing clicks over watch time and website retention. Back when they were on their meteoric rise in popularity, the Paul twins were famous for directing their viewers to their brother's videos and using each other's channels to 'trick' the algorithm and they both got really famous really quickly as a result. The algorithm correctly identified that viewers who watched Jake Paul very often watched Logan Paul videos, so as soon as you click on one of their videos in your 'Recommended' tab, YouTube had already started the process of tailoring your user profile to watch videos from the other brother.
Information about how and why the YouTube algorithm was changing from 2015-2020 would be so incredibly valuable for contextualizing a lot of the social movements we've seen recently, but too bad that this is information we will probably never get publicly.

I think we're all experiencing the effects of a bottleneck on restaurants/bars. Things (obviously) started with a pre-covid supply and demand of restaurants/bars at some equilibrium, and then Covid started and the demand fell through the floor when lockdowns prevented customers going to restaurants. No customers caused the establishments already on the brink of financial trouble to collapse, the number of bars/restaurants open after Covid decreased. If there's the same amount of market demand (or even higher) than there was pre-pandemic, all of the restaurants/bars will be packed with customers, but because there's fewer restaurants open, the market found its equilibrium just at a higher price point.
This is similar to the effect that happens to hockey. Splurging on rink time and gear is much easier if you're rich or if you come from a family already involved in the sport and can get hand-me-down gear, but even that doesn't have the problem of needing 21 other people (13 if you're just doing 7 on 7) there to help you practice that they themselves aren't getting the relevant experience for.
