He's an American lawyer and a longtime Harvard Law school professor who's represented a series of high-profile clients (O.J. Simpson, Mike Tyson, Julian Assange, Harvey Weinstein, Donald Trump, and Jeffery Epstein). He's an ardent Zionist and Israeli apologist. He's written a few books in defense of Israel.

Norman Finklestein, a former professor at DePaul University, cataloged/criticized Israel's human rights abuses/violations and structured that criticism around one of Dershowitz's books. Dershowitz then led a campaign to prevent Finklestein from receiving tenure. He was successful.

He's had a debate with Noam Chomsky. Dershowitz came off as a hothead and a shameless apologist in my opinion.

I might be wrong about the Bandy X. Lee situation actually. She got canned from Yale for criticizing Trump and Dershowitz excessively on Twitter (I think?). Who's right? and who's wrong? Dunno.

And then his representation of Epstein and then connections to Epstein. Not saying he's guilty of any crimes, but it's a weird situation.

I just don't like him. Feel free to look into him and form your own opinion.

It depends on the wording of the marijuana legalization initiatives.

The Ohio Marijuana Legalization Initiative was an Ohio initiated constitutional amendment on the ballot for November 3, 2015, where it was defeated.

Voting yes would have legalized the limited sale and use of marijuana and created 10 facilities with exclusive commercial rights to grow marijuana.

Voting no was a vote to leave current laws unchanged. Possession or use of marijuana for any reason remained illegal.

Issue 3 was accompanied on the ballot by Issue 2, which was added by state lawmakers concerned that the amendment would have granted a monopoly to the facilities.

Link.

I truly cannot stand Alan Dershowitz. His encounters with Noam Chomsky, Norman Finklestein, and Bandy Lee make my blood boil.

Maybe he's a pathological penny pincher like Robert Kraft.

Paul Pelosi, husband of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D), was assaulted in their San Francisco home by a hammer-wielding man early on Friday.

CNN, citing a source, reported that the assailant shouted "Where is Nancy?" before the attack and told police he was "waiting for Nancy" when they arrived at the scene.

I'm reminded of the Congressional baseball shooting in 2017, where six people were shot, including U.S. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R).

I don't have anything intelligent to add. Just curious on your thoughts, if any.

Why are the Democrats normalizing relations with Iran? Do they think Iran getting nukes is a foregone conclusion? Or is Iran somehow a more reliable business partner? Or is a potential conflict with Iran too risky or costly to Democratic leadership? I guess, what changed, going back to Obama? Iran give more money to the Democrats? I remember the Netanyahu stunt in Congress. What triggered the animosity?

What's going on between Democrats and Saudi Arabia? Are the Dems trying to warm relations with Iran? Where does that leave Israel?

I have a parent with narcissistic traits who is also the breadwinner of the family who uses that form of manipulation. Gifts, vacations, and/or tuition money means forever debts that cannot be repaid and makes emotional, financial, and/or physical abuse beyond criticism (in their mind).

I've never liked gifts.

I don't care for borrowing/being borrowed from either. I've been on both sides of it when it created resentment. Good way to damage relationships.
