My point was that whites need to build this elaborate system so that they don’t trigger their inborn natural instinct towards racism too often, the natural instinct which is significantly higher than that of other races (who do not need this elaborate system because they are not anywhere near as racist, genetically speaking).

My theory is that whites are the most prone to racism (scientific racism pioneered by whites, etc) and so they should be protected from media that triggers their racism.

I don’t think this really defensible after you look at civilized society say 100 years ago. Most people say 90% sorted themselves, changed their minds about what they can expect from the partner that they can get, settled, and learned to love their partner, let’s say varying definitions of love, and they had long relationships, made children, built a family, etc.
To me it seems like what you’re describing are these idealized fantasies that people have before they try to find long term relationships and sort of reset their expectations and self-perception for what they can actually get.

There was an article three years ago by a famous journalist Seymour Hersh three years ago (https://www.helsinkitimes.fi/world-int/22973-us-and-norway-blew-up-the-nord-stream-pipelines-seymour-hersh.html). Of course, he was dragged through the mud for it and it's all circumstantial evidence, and I guess the story got buried if it's not in wikipedia, but there are tons of people who don't believe the US government version of the story.

Could be referring to AlphaGo, AlphaZero, and the follow ups of RL models that play Starcraft and other games, but moved to military scenarios. You would have one model invading Taiwan, the other model defending Taiwan, and they play each other. But of course you can’t train a model to defend Taiwan without training a model to invade Taiwan.

Not really. The US had a list of countries it wanted to go after at the time. Iraq was just on the top of that list. If the US didn’t exist, on the other hand, Iraq would barely be a small regional power.

Even so, anyone who has used all of these models can tell you that them giving the same answer is unusual, for most non-trivial questions where there isn't a canonical solution.
So most likely there is some canonical solution. Problem is I am not at all familiar with tariff studies, or whatever it's called, and very few people are. So a lot of people's first instinct especially since it's the Trump administration is they came up with it randomly or AI or some kind of stupid way.

Yeah, for me I gravitated towards his explanation because it seemed like a reasonable explanation of the events among all of the hysteria at the time (and now too), and I'm sure a lot of other people did the same. Also, Keith Kellogg, who seems to be coordinating the Ukraine peace talks, keeps repeating that he is from the realist school. Mearsheimer says the same thing too, so my sense is a lot of people around Kellogg has similar thinking as well.

There are a lot of people in the Trump campaign who followed what John Mearsheimer was saying about the Ukraine war, invited him to speeches, etc. Seems to me Trump is just saying what they are saying.

Math is off. 5500 people 11-16 over 16 years, would be 5500/6 = 916 x 16 eleven year olds over 16 years plus 916 x 5 12-16 year olds. So 916 x 21 / 2 x 0.78 = 7502 white girls. And then, 1400/7502 = 18.7%, a bit over 1/6. Though I remember reading somewhere that it wasn’t just white girls, so percentage would be a bit lower than this.

Number Needed To Treat means you prescribe statins to 138 people and 1 person among them is expected to have positive effects. I am not a doctor but 135 LDL is pretty normal, you need to take statins for years before they statistically show improvement (lower cardiovascular events, for example), and there is no evidence for or against statins for people over 75, so doctors don’t usually recommend statins for people over 75.

Statins being cheap should not be a factor for recommending them or not. It should be side effects vs what it improves and whether you can afford it should only come into consideration afterwards.

It did incentivize him to hedge more and more until we get to this ridiculous point where he tries to take credit for a 50/50 prediction.
The problem is you can't evaluate how well the model did based on just the probability of winning, except for the correct or not question, and he was not correct in 2016. Maybe whatever he is doing in this post is good, but it sure didn't translate to the final prediction, so he doesn't get credit for that either.

Seriously.. Of course he is going to claim credit but he shouldn’t get credit for having his model hedge more than others. But apparently I don’t understand statistics because I think he shouldn’t get credit for hedging more.
How do you even arrive at something like this when it was clear he was doing fine until the rape accusations started coming out. Even the Nazi tattoos and his child murdering mercenary background these people were okay with.
