This weekly roundup thread is intended for all culture war posts. 'Culture war' is vaguely defined, but it basically means controversial issues that fall along set tribal lines. Arguments over culture war issues generate a lot of heat and little light, and few deeply entrenched people ever change their minds. This thread is for voicing opinions and analyzing the state of the discussion while trying to optimize for light over heat.
Optimistically, we think that engaging with people you disagree with is worth your time, and so is being nice! Pessimistically, there are many dynamics that can lead discussions on Culture War topics to become unproductive. There's a human tendency to divide along tribal lines, praising your ingroup and vilifying your outgroup - and if you think you find it easy to criticize your ingroup, then it may be that your outgroup is not who you think it is. Extremists with opposing positions can feed off each other, highlighting each other's worst points to justify their own angry rhetoric, which becomes in turn a new example of bad behavior for the other side to highlight.
We would like to avoid these negative dynamics. Accordingly, we ask that you do not use this thread for waging the Culture War. Examples of waging the Culture War:

In general, you should argue to understand, not to win. This thread is not territory to be claimed by one group or another; indeed, the aim is to have many different viewpoints represented here. Thus, we also ask that you follow some guidelines:

India is collapsing
The attack in Kashmir last week led to a lot of outrage and public statements about it from Pakistan. I am posting about the direction the so called "Nazi Hindu right" party took. They announced a caste census.
India has massive hbd spikes, when you go from the middle castes to the upper castes. I do not consider China-style entrance tests to be the best metric, they make for even worse policies. India in a fit of leftism, upon its modern conception post independence in 1947 mandated affirmative action of less than 30 percent, which got stretched to 50 with the Mandal commission in the 90s. Affirmative action and bioleninism are two genies that you cannot put back in a bottle.
Currnetly you have cases where people who score a literal zero in exams can teach math, you can get your neighbor jailed without proof by alleging he used a castiest slur wherein the government will give you 8 hundred thousand indian rupees or about 10k USD within a week of filing that case, under the SC ST act, a worthy rabbithole to check out for the more curious ones. You even get money for marrying people of other groups, thousands of USD actually in some states.
The caste census is a death blow. The nation is not industrialised, and real estate, basic amenities like running water, avoiding land grabbing, and education are out of bounds for most. Land grabbing and owning a house is nearly impossible, even with high incomes, without a back-breaking mortgage. This leads to people wanting to get employed by the government and that is done via exams. In each exam, you have to present a caste certificate if you are "backwards" and by Central Law, anything government-related has to have at least nearly 50 percent if not more sanctioned for people of backwards bent. In case a few of them score higher, they are allotted spots in the "Open" list as opposed to the "backwards" one. So even the 50 percent that the "upper castes" get is not truly for them. Most if not all people who get decent posts indulge in illegal things. Kickbacks are the only way to afford a house.
Modi and the BJP are using the caste census as a way to distract people from their inaction with the Kashmir issue. The census will show that the evil upper castes make up close to 10 percent of the nation, therefore, even 50 percent is too much. Places like Bihar are already pushing it, and frankly, this is India's fate. The country's economic slowdown is not going to stop the chery on top is that the Indian Armed Forces is nearly 95 percent upper caste. The army is also the only place where you do not have any affirmative action as even the bioleniniss know that would be stupid because the army actually has to win wars. Bridges collapse here regularly from shit engineering but people learn to live with that, wars are not a place you want to fuck with. The people who serve right now, their own kids, will not get to have good career outcomes.
Sure, you have state-wide bans or attempts at them on everything, crypto, proton mail, signal but what will fix that is ensuring more people leave. I have zero issues with any castes, the post illustrates a deeper point, which has to do with the universal nature of culture war. Anti caste scholars saw the backwards people as blacks and their own people as whites. And now, you end up in a state where posting any of this risks jail time. When Spandrell wrote bio leninism, he used the examples of minorities in Europe, but that very concept describes India way better.
The Indo Aryans were not pot-bellied soydevs, they were capable people, the majority was always the underclass, but it was closer to 90 than today's 99. something percent. Each year, you see people get visibly dumber. Plenty of Canadians are right to blame their boomers for selling them out by allowing an influx of the subcontinent's underclass. Today, I can relate to that sentiment. The elders here simply gave up without a fight, and now you are left with less social upward mobility. The entry-level IT sector and customer support people will get replaced fiarly soon, what then happens to the hordes of not-so-smart engineers and the economic fallout? Another proposal is to mandate state recommendations for social justice in private firms. This has not been enacted yet, but I will not be surprised even if it is.
Nothing is ever enough, they have land ceilings here to thwart to the evil upper caste from owning all the land and even had large scale land redistributions (hello south Africa) but nothing is ever enough. The upper caste male exists to pay taxes and fight wars. He does not get to enjoy any benefits and his leaders like the Canadians want him dead. Instead of making an example out of kashmiri "youth", the government showed a middle finger to its capable people on the frontlines. You can't own guns in the nanny state, now you won't get to be upper middle class either. The nation is doomed and pajeet elites deserve bad things, the kind that would be considered fed posting. I'm critical of most migration advocates as filling your nation with third world underclass and soydevs is a good way to end up with India like issues. Some is beneficial but letting large amounts of genetic rejects from Indian or Pakistani Punjab is suicidal.
They'll mandate the affirmative action policies in all things private too, schools, jobs, unis. It's over. It's actually over. Here is the leader of the opposition posting about it.
So, I don't know how to phrase this in a way that's not offensive to mrvanillasky, though not for the reasons you may anticipate with that preamble.
Some time ago, there was that low brow documentary about India, "India: Worst Country on Earth". I believe self_made_human pushed back on it significantly, dismissing it as cherry picked examples of India, and not representative at all. When I told my wife about it, and how disgusting I'd heard it was, she wanted to see it. She made it about 60 seconds in, until the scene where a young boy is sucking a dogs dick, and noped out. I didn't bother continuing to watch it either. But there is one thing about it's discourse that stuck out to me.
There was an assertion, either in the documentary itself, or in the commentary surround it, that the minority of higher caste Indians in India regard the rest of the degenerate masses as subhuman. I've always wondered how true this is. It didn't seem like the people making that assertion had any native knowledge of that claim.
So along comes mrvanillasky, an Indian native, seeming to support just that assertion. Only at this point, I'm so fucking paranoid, I have to wonder if he's even real. It's just too perfect, a native Indian supporting all the foreign prejudices of India.
Then again, truth is truth.

That's the offensive part BTW, I can't help but wondering if mrvanillasky is a bot or a psyop. I mean, not in a serious way, or a way I expect there to be consequences. More just... dead internet theory seems ever more predictive than it used to.
My issues with the underclass are never to do with castes, most people are a part of it and act like it. The documentary was made by another Indian and I was more charitable than I should have been, I do regret that. I am not a bot, I am a very real person.
My posting history goes back to 2019 lol, I just changed names since I did not want anyone who knew me irl to find anything new I posted. The prejudices displayed in the documentary are things that are from India, or rather, subcontinent-specific. The movie exists only to dunk on Hindus and is likely the work of a sikh or a muslim. I never watched the entirity of it, but my opinion flipped when I realised it had religious undertones that were explicit. Going by snippets and kulaks review was not correct. Its a hate piece, large parts of India are bad but they are not that bad.
The dead Internet theory is probably true, but I have been less online than ever before, so I am not as bothered by it now. India at one point, it was the place for the Indo Aryans; the religious and spiritual developments you saw here are unmatched and likely will be till the end of time. I am not a self-hating Indian, I do wear a janeu, I went to a uni here, and my family pays taxes on time.
My previous posting history is under the name practical_romantic, I mostly posted in the wellness threads since I already saw way too much culture war on Twitter. I posted under two different ones before that.
I did not wish to post much culture war either, but the Kashmir thing forced me to post something; the caste census, however, is much more important. It spells the end in many ways, and I want to leave something that can help others know that evil things happen regularly, and people just blind themselves to it. India has already had land redistribution happen post-independence; whites had or have farmlands in South Africa, we have nothing. There won't be an all-out war, but if the state can wreck someone's life for basic dissent, bar them from jobs, a degree, and social mobility despite being smart, then I don't have much to say.
It's hard to put this into words. The civilisation I care about is dying, and I fear I can do little to change any of that.
That's good enough for me. My post was less about you specifically being a bot, and more, just... I can't take anything I read on the internet as being written by a human for granted anymore. Even in weird out of the way places like this. I just find myself side eyeing any account that I don't personally recognize from at least 10 years ago.
I sympathize with this so hard, you have no idea. But you may have more cause to, it does sound your like civilization is going in the shredder maybe a generation before mine is.
It is already in the shredder. I cannot talk to anyone about it beyond people I know online, even though they may not fully realise how bad things are. The practices kept alive under foreign rules will be killed off. This is not shcizoposting on my part either. Blackpilling is a sign of weakness, and there are some ways but Indo Aryans are going to be completely dead before other branches of Aryans all over. People will accept tyranny, despite making up all of the armed forces(upper castes in this case). Why do people put themselves in these positions?
Refusing to take stock of a bad situation is madness. Elders here simply don't care or can't be made to care. Euros can at least plan for remigration, Denmark has a lower percentage of its 0-5 population as non-Danes than its adult population. Not the case here. Nothing is enough, the calls for wanting women as reparations, state encouragement of that by giving people 10k USD for marrying outside of your caste. In ways I get why boomers refuse to accept reality, coming to terms with this fucked up my day. My main reasons behind doing well in life beyond the personal were to help out the less fortunate whom I share some ancestry with and help them see the light. So that women like my mother have capable people to marry who uphold the last strands of our values.
All that is gone now. This sounds conspiratorial, but there is not much stopping the South African government from being more ruthless. I don't give the one here many reasons not to act that way. If you have 90 plus percent affirmative action, then the policeforce is 90 plus percent people who dont like you. Police tyrnany fucks with people in the army too, ask Paan Singh Tomar. They may not actively want you dead, but they clearly do not like you in the best case. There is probably no saving, if there is, I would happily do whatever I can. My sabbatical will continue, and I will try to leave soon. I am just gutted. I am alone, and I can't unsee what is going to happen.
