This weekly roundup thread is intended for all culture war posts. 'Culture war' is vaguely defined, but it basically means controversial issues that fall along set tribal lines. Arguments over culture war issues generate a lot of heat and little light, and few deeply entrenched people ever change their minds. This thread is for voicing opinions and analyzing the state of the discussion while trying to optimize for light over heat.
Optimistically, we think that engaging with people you disagree with is worth your time, and so is being nice! Pessimistically, there are many dynamics that can lead discussions on Culture War topics to become unproductive. There's a human tendency to divide along tribal lines, praising your ingroup and vilifying your outgroup - and if you think you find it easy to criticize your ingroup, then it may be that your outgroup is not who you think it is. Extremists with opposing positions can feed off each other, highlighting each other's worst points to justify their own angry rhetoric, which becomes in turn a new example of bad behavior for the other side to highlight.
We would like to avoid these negative dynamics. Accordingly, we ask that you do not use this thread for waging the Culture War. Examples of waging the Culture War:

Attempting to 'build consensus' or enforce ideological conformity.

Making sweeping generalizations to vilify a group you dislike.

Posting links that could be summarized as 'Boo outgroup!' Basically, if your content is 'Can you believe what Those People did this week?' then you should either refrain from posting, or do some very patient work to contextualize and/or steel-man the relevant viewpoint.
In general, you should argue to understand, not to win. This thread is not territory to be claimed by one group or another; indeed, the aim is to have many different viewpoints represented here. Thus, we also ask that you follow some guidelines:

Speak plainly. Avoid sarcasm and mockery. When disagreeing with someone, state your objections explicitly.

Be as precise and charitable as you can. Don't paraphrase unflatteringly.

Don't imply that someone said something they did not say, even if you think it follows from what they said.

Write like everyone is reading and you want them to be included in the discussion.

Rock climbing (which my phone somewhat appropriately tried to autocorrect to rich climbing) is one of the worst possible examples, because the guy doesn't get to realize he could body the girl 5 feet to his left.
If they did 7 seconds of basic wrestling the confusion would disappear.
Yet, no one struggled with this in 1850. So clearly it is a socialized behavior, this learned blindness to sexual dimorphism.
I think your point is getting a bit lost in this discussion. Anyone who can understand basic statistics can look at the relative differences in population averages.
What exactly is the hypothetical autistic teenager supposed to learn by comparing his performance to other women playing the same sport? It’s unlikely for him to be good enough that he can’t find a single woman who’s better than him. How is it supposed to discourage him from transitioning?
If we are talking about a genuine Austistic kid who in 1850 would have been called slow and awkward and given some simple job like feeding chickens and brushing horses. Nothing changes. Vanishingly few of these people exist, and none are transitioning of their own accord. What the system is doing to them is another thing, they do mostly need to be relocated out of schools and into outdoor day laborer positions as soon as practicable.
If we are talking about colloquial autists, well contention #1 for me is they will be cured of this mental condition by being physically fit and having boot-camp like conditions imposed on them every morning from 8-10 AM. In addition, it will not matter if one girl can beat him at a footrace, he will beat most of them and some other male will beat that fast girl handily. Also if the physical fitness program is well done, even that strong girl at his school will get utterly demolished in anything even resembling physical combat, so say one accidentally runs into him in the hallway. She will fall, he will not. This will be obvious so long as she's not some absolute physical freak like Brittany Griner.
