Small-Scale Question Sunday for July 19, 2026

Do you have a dumb question that you're kind of embarrassed to ask in the main thread? Is there something you're just not sure about?

This is your opportunity to ask questions. No question too simple or too silly.

Culture war topics are accepted, and proposals for a better intro post are appreciated.

A multitool. These are commonly carried, but I don't know if I would use most of the functions or not. Many people swear by them, though.

The funny thing is, you have to start carrying it to find uses for all the tools. Lots of things you used to do the hard way, or not do at all, are suddenly easy, you find reasons to use it. Tightening a screw that you saw was loose might ordinarily be a task of running and getting a screwdriver, and you might just figure it'll be fine, now you just do it. Pliers make all kinds of things easier. You become Leatherman Guy by carrying the Leatherman.

But then, when it comes to EDC I'm also a fanny pack guy, so maybe take me with a grain of salt.

Okay, I might have to get one now. I can already think of several times I could have used a small screwdriver in quick access...
