At least in the above, you forgot a pretty amusing aspect of Fall—the realistic world-building as to female mate-choice copying in the form of Shiloh Hunter hopping onto her best friend Becky Connor's husband's cock, then a boyfriend/fiance.

Due to YouTube suggestions, a while ago I watched one of those movie channels recapping this film. Going into it, my suspicion was that it was going to be about two chicks having an extended coffee moment in a silly premise (who would be stupid enough to get stuck on a TV tower? I'm sure between the two they have a stepbro, or stepbro-adjacent).

The video did not exactly disabuse me of such an impression. However, perhaps the video undersold the film.

You're right. That bit of evopsych wouldn't have fit an /r/rational review, but I should have mentioned it here.

A lot of people think the girls are stupid for climbing the tower in the first place, but I'd file that under "the utility function is not up for grabs". Like I said, they are adrenaline junkies; they think life has no meaning unless you are willing to risk it all.

Everything that happens after they get trapped is the opposite of a coffee moment.

Why are you called The Motte?

A motte is a stone keep on a raised earthwork common in early medieval fortifications. More pertinently, it's an element in a rhetorical move called a "Motte-and-Bailey", originally identified by philosopher Nicholas Shackel. It describes the tendency in discourse for people to move from a controversial but high value claim to a defensible but less exciting one upon any resistance to the former. He likens this to the medieval fortification, where a desirable land (the bailey) is abandoned when in danger for the more easily defended motte. In Shackel's words, "The Motte represents the defensible but undesired propositions to which one retreats when hard pressed."

On The Motte, always attempt to remain inside your defensible territory, even if you are not being pressed.
