I think these frontier AI labs are going to be forced to sell by the VC's whose money they're burning for research when microsoft and google are making bucca bucks and these frontier research labs still haven't figured out a way to turn a profit, and the corporate accounting team at these big tech companies will prevent frontier expansion because they don't want to pay for research. AI really is going to be a big part of the future economy, it's not a bubble- but the people who make money off of it are largely going to be the people who already make money off of software, because that's who's figuring out how to monetize it right now(and OpenAI/Claude aren't doing a good job of that), and so they're going to take control of the entire industry among themselves and drastically slow the pace of research because there's no business case in AI X-risk.
